This is a fantastic video - showing it to my 9th grade New Testament class as they prepare to write a short exegetical paper.

What a great example provided! Excellent! One of my favorite examples are very common nativity displays which place the wise men at the manger at the time of Jesus' birth, and not at the house approximately 18 months later. It drives me nut. And people think I AM nuts when I try to point out the wise men weren't there. Tradition can be very powerful to shape our preconceived ideas when we read the Word. The same goes for assuming there were only two others crucified with Jesus, when a careful reading of all four Gospels will reveal the presence of four others.

Good cursory explanation for the layperson. One thing I often find left out of exegesis, is the failure to return to the senior text of scripture, which results in eisegesis occurring unwittingly. That is, the reader believes they are employing exegesis based upon their understanding of the language (most often English) that they are reading the text in.

Great analysis of Exegesis and Eisejesis with sound biblical understanding with in my view my Bible College Studies I can safely say Exegesis supersedes Éisegesis in terms of biblical interpretation in my view. Love your show very educational. Keep up the good work.

Wow, that's super encouraging for us who believe in the pre-existing and Eternal God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. Because mockers will increase before Jesus returns...
    2 Peter 3:3-4
3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

My guess is that the best way is by using exegesis yourself by studying the context, that is if it isn't already apparent that the speaker themselves aren't using exegesis.
Steve Lawson is a good example (of course there are many) of someone that it is obvious they use exegesis when preaching the Word. And I'd say that Joel Osteen is a good example (again, many examples) who obviously speaks by using their personal interpretations.

Eisegesis is when you make up something in your imagination, and try to find scriptures to support your imagination. You know, like the trinity, pre-existant Christ, Calvinism, Catholicism, etc.

it is also when someone has a problem in their life and they search for a specific verse that kind of fits their narrative and bend it even more to fit their argument. you see a lot of dishonest people do this in debate. and it is very dangerous to do this. it leads people to take the bible out of context to just read one verse and not read previous verses and following verses. very dangerous

Apparently they did, especially Paul who compelled certain passages of the Torah and the Prophetic writings to say what his ideas he wanted to present. Read his quotes from Deuteronomy and Hosea and compare with the actual texts.😯 😮

Too true! A reading of the epistle to the Roman Jews by Paul reveals blatant eisegesis! Read his quotes from Deuteronomy and Hosea, then compare them with the original texts and you'll be shocked at how Paul forces the Hebrew Scriptures texts to support his baseless idea of righteousness by faith!

Exegesis is the correct or right interpretion of the bible. The Scriptures is self interpreting "do not add or subtract" that is law of interpretion. Line upon lines is Gods percepts nothing to add or subtract its perfect.
While Eisegesis is mans interpretation with his ideas, perspectives and understanding. Man interpret of what he sees with his own understanding in the scriptures.

They don’t even have the same Bible

  • @ggates5371
    @ggates5371 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The Apostle Paul completely lied to his followers. He was preaching to gentiles who never knew the laws of G-d.
Want proof that the religion of Paul is lies? Look at Hebrews 9:22. It reads, “without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.”
But there’s just one problem: that was NEVER written in the Torah. The author of Hebrews lied.
Don’t believe me? Grab a concordance and research it yourself.
The G-d of Abraham is Lord. Worship Him only. All you have to do is repent and believe in HaShem (Allah) alone.

And certainly not the blood of a human being! Hashem dissuades the sacrificing of humans and Hashem also says that no one will take the punishment of or die for another's sin! Ezekiel 18!
