  • Mount Triglav in the Julian Alps is the icon of Slovenia. It is often done in 2 days and has a solid Via Ferrata section in the last mile. This cables on the hike reminded me of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Mount Triglav is an awesome hike which I would highly recommend!

    Congratulations on this achievement, allthough i am a bit dissapointed that you didn't get spanked with a climbing rope. It is a tradition for all 1st timers who achieve the top.

    Hi, your video is great. You did not use any via ferrata kits or a helmet. How vital is this for a mid experienced hiker? Loose rocks, dangerous places without a cable? Was there many others like you? may be half?) I noticed some people moved very slowly, clipping themselves on every cable. May be only like them need this kit and helmet in particular? Thanks.

    • @theworldhiker1
      @theworldhiker1  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Elena,
      I would recommend a via ferrata kit and helmet. I think that unless you are very experienced it is better to take them than not. I felt like the rock was solid and would say that maybe 20% of people did not have this kit. Better to have it than wish you did.

      Hey, Slovenian citizen here...i climbed Triglav for the first time in September, and it would be no stretch to say that I was/am an aaaaabsolute begginer, i had my gear on me, but plenty of people didnt, I could have easily climbed even the hardest of routes bare-handed

  • @chrishiking8818
    @chrishiking8818 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

    No matter how much experience you have should have had a helmet on , as you are putting others at risk if something had happened to you . Seen it so many times.

    Hello, whats your opinion on doing the climb with a dog ? Are there a lot of wild animals,and is the trail straight or it includes some rock climbing etc ?

    • @theworldhiker1

      I would not climb this with a dog as the last couple miles are challenging and you need your hands for sure.
