How many hours did the hike take you? Great video 👏🏼
Thanks! It took me about 8 hours including a few stops for pictures and snacks
Wow that’s way less than I expected. You’re a machine! How long do you think it took you to get to Iris burn hut?
Thanks for taking us along. Backpacked to Vee lake via Lake Italy from the west side several years ago. Hike/run on.
You're welcome! Glad you got to backpack out to Vee Lake as it is a real gem. Thanks for the support!
Good stuff! I am somewhat familiar with this route. My cousin and I (plus two friends) hiked from Hilton Lakes trailhead to Mt. Stanford and attempted the ridge traverse over to Mt. Morgan. Didn’t quite have the energy or daylight to finish that, but made it up Stanford and got a great view of the basin.
Another great run through the mountains. Love to see it. Totally inspiring
Thanks Mitch. Glad you enjoyed our run!
great video
@@mypetcamera Thank you 😊
Thank you for this video! I was planning to do this a few weeks back but Tioga was closed due to the snow warning (missed it by THREE DAYS!). I don’t think I'm understanding how you were able to get to the entrance station since I thought the road stayed closed through mid June? I'm aware the video was from this year's June so just wondering how one would get there in the future! I would love to see the snow as you depicted here so I am wanting to go asap towards the very end of the spring
You're welcome! So there is a window of time when the road is plowed up to the entrance station before they open Tioga Pass. This is when I did it. You can guess when Tioga Pass is getting close to being opened and this is the ideal time.
@theworldhiker1 fantastic thank you. Love hearing your chipper, upbeat attitude on the trails. I am the same way on the trails and often others don't understand it😂 enjoy this season, stay safe, and hope you're up to some beautiful travels
@ Thanks for the kind words! Always feel grateful to be outdoors. Got to visit a few places in Oregon and Washington this last week, which was beautiful. Hope you have a happy holidays 😁
What a great birthday celebration
Thanks! It was a fun day out together!
I got my map out and I found the trailhead... Thank you again for this video. I can't believe I drove by this for years and years and hiked all around the eastern sierras but never knew about this trail. I'm taking my border collies next summer and going back there. Thanks again guys.
did you get the coca leaves there or buy beforehand??
@@molepatrol7529 they sell them in Bolivia at roadside shops
Lots of comments about other peaks being more technically difficult. The point here is the effort to get there on a 25-mile hike and then summit day was 14 hours for me. Getting up on the saddle from camp and then having to lose a couple thousand feet before you can go back up again is challenging in terms of effort. I've done a few mountains and Gannett was definitely the most physically taxing of all. Plus, the year I did it the mountain was totally covered in snow.
The eastern Sierras are the best....love it there...thx 4 the video
You're welcome!
Beautiful...thanks.. Where's the trail head
Hi, the route with the trailhead is in the video description. It is Pine Creek Trailhead.

You're welcome! Glad that you enjoyed the video and I hope that you can make it up to Bear Lakes Basin.

Probably about 1.5 hours to get up to the summit.
How scary was the way down 😅!!!??? Im planning to do this climb!

It appear they enjoy the running more than the view. Running on the rocky terrain can be dangerous. Lucky for them, none of them sprain an ankle or slide off the ridge.
