Will taking the piss out of the Sanderson book is probably the funniest thing he´s done on this channel haha. Cheers lads
Come to Will for the Sando-hate!
Ed
Great watch as usual. Will's monologue on Mistborn Book 1 had me in stitches! Never added so many books to the TBR as I have with Ed's reads over the last few months. Cheers lads.
When you finish Horns you should watch the movie, I quite liked it! I didn't even know it was a book tbh!
Also very excited to start Bloodsworn with you guys! I've had book 1 and 2 for awhile and haven't gotten to them, was gonna read one each week in October for book 3 release, but now that I know you're doing one each month I'll just join you all in the discord!
Good idea! So glad you’re excited for The Bloodsworn. Excited for the readalong!
Ed
I love your bookcases!
Thank you!
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne Who is this Ed of which you speak? My name is Heidi.
The boys are back!
Love seeing a video of you together again. I think I speak for us all when I say… more of these please!
Truth and Courage xx
❤️❤️
I'm here for Will's hot takes on Brando Sando.
I just recently read Jade City, too, and I think it's probably going to be one of my favourites of the year!
MSN, Ed, I miss it too ❤ and no, us 90s babies are not boomers!! A lot of us are millennial/gen z (don't ask me how many times I've googled this, I get confused by the different generations 😂)
Will is going offff! So glad you loved Jade City. I need to read Jade War next month! We are clueless when it comes to generations. MSN is a sad casualty for the last 15 years 😭
Ed
Great video. For the vampire book I suggest "Sabella" by Tanith Lee. Short but impactful in my opinion, and it is set on Mars.
Thank you!
Ed
Your Mistborn example is hilarious! 😂 The tone of the next two books is completely different, so enjoy. Hahaha
Jade City is soooo good! So is Jade War. I still need to read Jade Legacy. Hope you'll both continue along with the trilogy. 😊
Cloudsplitter sounds really interesting. Adding it to my list.
Dark Frontier sounds good too!
If Papa Gwynne recommends Horns then I'll add it to my list!
Thanks Stacy! Hope you’re well. Too many good books out there!
Ed
The Flashman books are great though they would probably be cancelled if they were written today; I seem to remember Flashman doing a particularly heinous act in one of the first three books...and he always gets away with it!
Yeah I’m convinced the only reason they are still published is that people making those decisions don’t know what’s in them, not that I’m complaining.
They are incredibly well written and so entertaining.
Yep I agree! About halfway through and he’s done a host of appalling things so far.
Ed
In July I plan to read:
«The Stone of Farewell» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #2) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy)
«Tiamat's Wrath» (The Expanse, #8) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera)
«The Warrior Prophet» (The Prince of Nothing #2) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy)
On my July MBR/August TBR is:
«The Green Tower part 1» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy)
Some fantasy giants here!
Ed
Very interested in the Matthew Harffy western, added to my TBR as well. Curious for your review.
Hope you love it!
Ed
Jay Kristoff’s Vampire series audio books are so good. The narrators do an excellent job
So far in July i read taming 7 by chloe Walsh
Tbr list
Broken horses by brandi carlile memoir
Fourth wing by rebecca yarros
Summer on the bluffs by sunny hostin
Truly madly deeply by Alexandria bellefleur
The neighbor favor
The royals next door by Katrina halle
Hope it’s a good reading month for you!
Ed
Even though I had to unsubscribe because Will hates Mistborn so much, it was still a great video, guys
😂😂 hopefully he warms up to it and hopefully you sub again!
Ed
Great video guys! You two together is just pure magic😊
Cheers legend!
Ed
Will have you already read Dreams of Sorrow the 2nd novella in the Gael Song out today! Lezlie loved it and so did Grimdark Magazine. I am waiting for the audio, all 3 novellas out in physical omnibus in 2025.
I put a review out on Goodreads today! Thought it was so, so great. Lawless just does not fail! Oo did not know that about the novellas. That's great news!
Will

Oh I am not a Good Reads member, I hope you do a comprehensive video on the Gael Song as it is so underrated! I found it because of you. I think everyone should have it on their TBR. Maybe you can do a discussion with Lezlie@ the Nerdy Narrative as she also has great enthusiasm for the series too!
Oh my gosh the brothers are back together!
Back in town!
Ed
Great TBR as always.
Cheers John!
Ed
I can't wait to see Iris's birthday pony and birthday Viking ship! I hope you'll be featuring them on the channel. Also, so many great books in store for you gents in July -- happy reading!
I second this! 👆
Thanks Philip! Of course any ponies and / or drakkars shall be shared with the internet 😂
Ed
Mistborn is great but no near as awesome as Stormlight, one of the greatest modern fantasy epics. :D
We’ll have to read that too!
Ed
Hey guys....couldn put the title and author of the book on the screen when you introduce the titles you will read? Thanks...love and appreciate your work!
Thanks for the comment! The books mentioned are in the description.
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne Thank you! Truth and Courage!
@@Speed202 truth and courage!
I first read Mistborn while doing a reread of Daughter of the Empire. Mistborn didn’t hold up well, and I rated it as mediocre YA written by someone who couldn’t write females. I was so disappointed as I had treated myself to the box set.
I had the “crazy” twist in book 3 figured out half way through book 1, which I never manage or even try to do.
It’s put me off Sanderson, and the only way I can logically the wild love for Mistborn is by assuming it’s nostalgia for what for younger ages was probs their first fantasy series.
It seems I am not alone as many seasoned fantasy readers are baffled by the hype for Mistborn.
So welcome to the club.. maybe
I loved The Belgariad when I was young and now older would still rate it as a solid YA entry level fantasy for younger readers, but I would never hype it as an adult fantasy too 10. Hence I do find the Mistborn hype a bit odd.
I plan to try The Emperors Soul for my next Sanderson attempt but it’s not high on the priority list tbh
It's refreshing to read honest takes on BS. I jumped into fantasy with Mistborn Era 1 and found that the first 3 books haven't aged well but appreciated what he was trying to do and hoped Warbreaker would be a winner for me but was disappointed. Nevertheless, he's my favorite author whose work I don't actually read because of his lectures on writing and his work, which I appreciate. I do look to give Stormlight a try ❤
That’s really interesting, thanks for the comment! Very curious to see what Will and I think of it.
Ed
Boomers (me) = through 1964
Gen X = 1965 until 1980
y'all're Millennials.
I think Will was born after 2000 so he’s gen z
I nodded along to every word Will said about Mistborn!!! 😂😂😂
Do you not think it’s cruel on those dog book ends to put them next to Hobb? 😂
I think Ed is a Millennial (I think you were born before 2000?) and Will is Gen Z since I believe you were born after 2000?
😂😂 good to know he isn’t alone!
Hahaha it really is.
Thank you! We are obviously clueless.
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne to be fair, I only looked up generation names to understand memes 😂
lol Boomers were born in the decade after ww2, I don’t think you guys are that old 😂
😂😂 we are clueless!
Ed
Those kinds of words divide us. We are not boomers or millinials, we are human beings.
The govt makes this garbage to divide the generations.
I love you guys, just not our govts.
