Just installed the exact same FITCAMX. No need to pull door seals; the cable will tuck into the headliner and behind the window seals at tops of window.
There's a lot of ways to pull the cable. Since the seals come off so easily I decided to pull them giving me a ton of room to push the cable up on the head liner without bending anything.
Just installed the rear camera this morning after your video. Took me 10 minutes. Installed the front a year ago and been dreading doing the rear. You saved me so much time, thanks!
These are great dash cams. Installation was super easy. Unfortunately no longer need the truck so it came out before trading it in. Well worth the money.
I ordered a Front only cam, didn't really feel I needed the rear cam. However, it's a shame they couldn't figure out how to simply use the existing backup camera for the rear view.
I jumped the gun and ordered this same model after seeing your front only. Just arrived the other day. Missed the savings but thanks for the install guide 🙌
Great review! I have mine set up, both front and rear as well, and while I can see the rear while in "live" view, I can't figure out how to DOWNLOAD the rear camera. None of the documentation says anything about this. Do you know how to do it? Thanks!
If you're driving and see an event you want to keep the recording of, is there a button on the camera that marks that recording so you don't have to go through 100+ recordings to find what you're looking for? I do a lot of roadtrips and 1minute loops means a lot of recordings lol
It's all date and time stamped. You can have your videos record in 1 min ... 5 min segments. If the event happened at 01-21-24 @ 08:15 in the morning you'll just go directly to the video and download and save from the file.
This is one of the first things I purchased when I purchased my Rebel. My next purchase is going to be the start stop eliminator. Is there one you recommend? Thanks for the video.
@@khyoon14I think wire loom is important, especially against the windshield tucked behind the headliner. That glass gets extremely hot and could adversely affect the functionality of the camera. Correct orientation of fuses are also key. Lastly, windshield tint or a brow, to keep that area cooler is also a good idea.
Yes there’s a plug that you’ll need to unplug, plug the fitcam dongle into then reconnect. Watch my first fitcam video, I show how and where to located the plug.
I believe you’ll need two micro2 add a fuses to tape into a constant power and a switched power. Contact fitcam and they can guide you. I know a few others who went that route.
I am having camera connection issues. The fitcam app is not working... is anyone having technical support app working? My camera is not connecting to the app via the camera wifi.
Sorry man, I haven't had any issues with connecting the cam to the app. Both times the cam connected right away. Try forgetting the wireless network then reconnecting.
I saw another install where he put all the extra wire for the rear camera in the headliner above the rear window. He was able to locate the rear camera closer to the center window.
@@mtbrdude I looked thru my history and couldn't find it. But now I think I watched so many installations, it could've been a different vehicle that had the extra room in the rear liner.
@@WaterFowler41 Very Easy, followed your steps on how to run the wire. So far, no complaints. If I had to do it over again, I would do the constant power.

Its really pretty simply, longest part is figuring out where to store all the excess wiring.

Pop it out and resell the camera, there's still a great market for them even used!
@@WaterFowler41 Your video helped me decide to purchase the Fitcam and helped me with the install. I did remove it, just need to sell it now. Thanks!

Yup I agree, not quite sure the intricacies but oh well

It's in the app, I'm not by my phone right now but keep searching around, its pretty intuitive once you find the save file option.
@@WaterFowler41 I'll look again. I sat there for 30min the other day and couldn't find it.
Helpful video. What was the final location of the rear cam? Top middle of the passenger side window, or corner near D pillar?
Yup middle of the passenger side rear window panel

My truck doesn’t have start/stop so unfortunately I can’t provide much feedback for you!
I have had the AutoStop Eliminator for a couple of years now. It's the first thing I added to mine, and I haven't had any problems.
Got the fit cam for Christmas. Thanks for the video. What are those phone holders you have in the truck?
Those are from Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions. Love those mounts!
Why can’t you add the tail gate camera?
What tailgate camera? The kit comes with a rear facing camera.
Great video! Just got the camera whit your cupon discount. Did u also ended up installing parking mode?? The extra wire?
No I never did parking mode
Is it possible to change the timestamp to 12 hours on the recorded videos? I noticed it only works in the app but the video still shows 24 hour.
I don’t think so I had the same issue as you
Is yours still working? Just bought mine and installed. Works great but just been hearing stories of it breaking after a month or two.
Sold the truck and the camera but everything was functioning before I offloaded it!
@@WaterFowler41 that's right forgot you sold it.. glad to know it was still working. just got mine the other day and works great

Sorry still confused. When I pull the plastic down from the current mirror cover is their power to tap into?

I like their form and ease of setup, but their sensor isn't as good as some competitors.
I would appreciate a video on a hardwire ! To the fuses 🔥🔥
Probably not with this truck, but most definitely with my next one!
@@WaterFowler41 shoot, i have the wires but i don't know which fuses to connect to. 9 fuses that light up haha
My phone automatically connects to Android, how will that affect the app? Can the app be managed through Android Car Play?
No the app can only be managed off of your phone. Auto connecting to android wont impact the cameras ability to record.
Where did you tap into the power?
It’s fed from the dongle that comes in the kit.
I wonder if I can add a 256gb card or a 1tb?
wouldn't hurt to try
Do you have the parking feature enabled? Trying to figure out what to buy to tap into the fuse.

What year is your Ram Rebel?
2020
Another great video and explanation of the product!
Glad you liked it!

How'd it go?

Selling the first one?
Sending it back to fitcam I think…I’ll keep you in the loop
Mine stopped recording after a year.
Want to sell the old one ???
Returned it to Fitcam, sorry bro!
