    Will Smith Charisma Breakdown: How To Be Charismatic In Groups
    Group interactions can be so difficult when trying to exude confidence and charisma. Unlike a 1:1 conversation you might find it hard to get a word in. You might find it hard to hold people's attention. This is totally normal, but it doesn't make it any more fun when you're a shrinking wallflower.
    The good news is that there are clear ways how to be more charismatic in groups. And Will Smith provides an amazing firsthand example. He manages to come across as genuine and likeable while steering the conversation. Take a look and be sure to implement these charisma tips in your own life!

    Ik it's kinda dick but it'd be super interesting to see character breakdowns from the other side, like people who are coming off as weird or creepy or non charismatic etc. All for the sake of seeing it from the other side, no hate. Good vids bro

      @lizaronni 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      No, I agree. And he wouldn't have to use real people. Maybe he could pull clips of fictional characters like, say, SNL's Debbie Downer or that sketch with John Snow on Seth Meyers. It would be really fun to see the comparison.

    i mean the crowd is literally having an orgasm upon hearing Will Smith's name and his music. it would actually be weird for him to not acknowledge them and make a show of it. he was obviously the most important man there before the show had even started...

    • @ZeldaFoxEars
      @ZeldaFoxEars 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Right? He even had his own music. It certainly helps by being important.

    • @dimonai01
      @dimonai01 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      ZeldaFoxEars like people always point to the george clooney's, will smiths and shit when talking about charisma but they're ignoring the most obvious fact. all of this is rehearsed! he's at work right now, entertaining everyone. to be charismatic doesn't mean to be an entertainer or the loudest, most vocal person in the group. charisma is simply the art of making people around you feel important. this can be easily achieved by first keeping your mouth shut and giving your full undivided attention to the person you're interacting with. it's really that simple, that alone will make you a lot more likable than the wittiest narcissist everyone seem point to as charismatic. it all looks good from behind a screen but in real life you might be seen as a fun person to be around sometimes, but ultimately obnoxious and exhausting. Hollywood isn't real life, the people you see on tv are all putting on an act, an act that only works in scripted scenarios, you'll never walk into a room with an audience that's been waiting for your appearance for hours and your theme song on full blast. I'm not saying these people aren't charismatic, they wouldn't be where they are if they weren't, but they most definitely do not act that way when not in front of camera's. a much better example of charisma would be Barack Obama or Bill Clinton, those guys can make a janitor feel like the most important person on earth. and yes those are very powerful men, but you'd have to be blind to not see that their charisma is what got them elected. Michelle Obama is also a great example. she could announce her presidency a week before the election and probably win.

    • @maco9525
      @maco9525 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good god, it's nice to see someone stepped in. Of course Will Smith, Bill Clinton etc. are charismatic, but what is completely left out in those CoC videos is the social status these people already have pre-conversation. And this is what partly limits the applicability of these tips. Will Smith seems like a fairly nice guy, albeit a bit "Hollywood exaggerated", but I actually "click" more with the two guys to the right, because - like me - they're a bit more quiet and reserved. Therefore, I - personally - find them to be more charismatic. @Charisma on Command, your videos are very helpful, but please don't leave "social status" out of the equation. It's immensely important and usually wins over charisma in groups, as exemplified by my group of friends, where I could pull of this shit, but others would still end up following the person with the highest social status. Of course, higher charisma tends to give you higher social status, but it's at least equally important.

    Initially you're reading a bit too much into Will's introductory behaviors. He lingers because he can; because he knows that the crowd will accept his physical intimations without negative judgement based almost solely on his fame and immediate social relevancy and marketability.

      I have to disagree. Celebrities who just play "almost solely on fame, immediate social relevancy, and marketability" are not practically universally loved like Will Smith, many of those other types seem to a lot of people from the outside to have an off-putting attitude about them, but Will doesn't, his particular mannerisms and positive "vibe", as described in detail by [narrator's name here], make all the difference.

      Yeah, but the goal of this video is not apoint the things that you can do when youre famous, i mean Tom Jones is famous and the host too, the point of view he was trying to make us see is the smalls things that Will does, that have and absolute impact on other people.

    Will Smith is the definition of a movie star. He is genuinely enthusiastic about everything he does, he makes jokes and has no qualm about making jokes at his own expense, and he cheers for everyone around him because he recognizes the passion it takes to be a success and sees that passion in the people around him. He is the personification of hard work+passion=success and even at his worst he effortlessly excels because he gives everything 150%

    He doesn't just tentatively/politely offer his hand, he embraces the host from the beginning. He firmly grips the hands of others on the couch as a sign of camaraderie and its visible enough that it translates through our screens. He always owns his space. He engages with the audience as if they only came to see him, and he's not subtle about it as the second guest was with the slight bow. He's deliberately dramatic, says "wow" as if its completely new and wondrous to him to be in front of an audience, even though he's Will Smith. He then turns his attention completely away from the audience, and addresses the man next to him for a very short time - but his body language is clear: it says I'm here to be interviewed but no matter what, I'll do it my way.

    In something between 2:28 , watch how Will Smith gave hand shake to others. His hand is above of their hand and it indicates that he is going to dominate them. I think its correct ;) ( sorry for my bad english)

    • @tbpp6553
      @tbpp6553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      That is a friendly 'bro-for-life' kind of handshake( you would have seen it in sports). NO it is not a 'dominating' sign.

    • @renze7133
      @renze7133 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Dashing Young Man it is a dominating sign. From where the cameras stand and the audience is sitting, he had the upper hand. If you watch politicians, they always try to be on the left of the cameras, so when they shake hands with other politicians, they seem to be the dominant one. If you would just see the couple of seconds of them shaking hands, you would unconsciously think of Will Smith being the alfa

    • @Appolyon99
      @Appolyon99 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are other factors that make him appear more dominant least of all is that his hand was over the other persons hand. It's a tv show not politics.

    Maybe this is why people are surprised whenever I swear. Even though I swear a lot, since I laugh at everything and try to be supportive, swearing seems out of character for me. It's rather funny the responses I get. I got surprised reactions from people who I just met and one person stopped a conversion just to find out why I swore because they thought me swearing meant something major happened.

That character is fascinating and I think we all have a lot to learn from his gravitas and charm, despite not speaking that much. I love your content! So yeah Keanu Reeves, more videos about him would be amazing! Johnny Depp and Jackie Chan. Honestly, all three of these gentlemen really are very unique and really stand out more than a lot of celebrities. All highly underrated in my opinion.

    Charly, I cannot belive the way you analyze these videos, awesome!
    I have noticed it takes major social intelligence to be able to detect and pick up on peoples' behaviours and character traits like this. It further takes some discipline to incorporate these attributes into your own actions. However once making the effort it is always very well worth it.
    You help people do that and the loose way of doing so with people we all enjoy is a great method to clarify your points. I am quiet certain you will be one of the next youtube stars so keep up the great work!
    Further a recommendation:

    There is nothing I hate more than people who are placing other people out of a conversation by not looking at them when they are talking, sharing a joke or story etc.
    To me it always seems disrespectful, unfriendly and impolite. I always switch between everyone after a few seconds. I think that makes you appear exactly the opposite. Caring, that no one feels left out (especially people you maybe just met), polite, friendly, open, and charismatic.

    • @marie-nm9jo

      Yeah. Especially when they turn their backs away from you and it's so rude. But I noticed that when someone is telling a story, they tend to look at people who are reacting to them. Like nodding their head, saying yes, and making small comments. They make less eye contact to the person who just stands there without giving them any feedback as they tell their story

    I'll be honest, as fascinating as I find this channel, I feel like it's more for robots barely learning human communication than for people who already do many of the things talked about innately.

    Charisma breakdown suggestion: Lucy Worsley
    I watch all her history documentarys just because she hosts them. She always connects with people who are used to be the expert and are used to be very serious. That's why it's so great that she can get these people to tell a different story, most of the time with much more fun :) I recognise in her the 'fun' thing that you explained in your video about Ellen! To start I would suggest you watch "History of the Home"

    Will smith in an extrovert person, it would be a good idea to make a video to explain how to develop your charisma when you are introverted and to complete it by analyzing a personnality that has charisma while being introverted, Apart from this I realy like your channel and I wish you a good continuation, cordially.

    I would love to see a video displaying two dominant characters in a group conversation. Like Will Smith and The Rock. Would they "fight" or how would they go about?

    +Charisma on Command Really helpful channel! Thank you for making these! Not sure if you only analyze interviews but if you don't there are many many good scenes in TV show "Mentalist". The main character is absolutely charming! It would be amazing if you analyzed how exactly does he do that :D Thank you!
