Aligning a Band Pass Filter with SDRPlay RSP1A

  • An RF amplifier module with band pass input and output filters is evaluated using an SDRPlay RSP1A and the Spectrum Analyser software. This is my first use of the SDRPlay Spectrum Analyser software and it appears to be intuitive and no surprises. It does support an external tracking generator in hardware, a future project. In this video a simple broadband RF noise source suffices.

Awesome use of. Stuff most hams have in their shack, thanks For sharing, now get some sleep

You're referring to the construction of the RF amp and filters module I guess. The SDRPlay RSP1A isn't in every shack but equivalents including TinySA and NanoVNA are pretty common these days. Thanks!

You deserve more subscribers Paul, you really do. This is top quality stuff. 73 de VK4QP.

Thanks! It varies. The audience for homebrew radio is very small. If I made videos on sleep soundscapes I might have a lot more subs! In the end you do what you do, some people come, some don't!

Another SDR trick is measuring/adjusting FM deviation with the Bessel Null method.. I used it recently on a TNC doing 9600 baud.

Thanks for commenting. Would be interesting to test a simple frequency modulator on the bench. Not sure of the method you mention but I'll look it up.
