    You did better job than professional shop would, and saved a lot of money. Can't wait to see what wheels you gonna put!

    Everything is looking so awesome! Worked on mine all weekend, assembled a radiator pack, cac and all the oil coolers. Got mine a year behind you. All parts of the build are my favorite part at the moment... All fun!🎉

    Looks awesome. That’s a ton of work.
    On some of the trucks I’ve had there’s a little square that goes between the body and the hood latch/bumper on the sides. Not sure if all models have or if it will make a difference but might. Looks so clean and sharp. Thanks for sharing.

    I used the 10-32 stainless button cap and took a 10-32 tap the the holes prior to install because mine had been repainted and paint got in the threads. Cleaning out the threads with the tap did the trick and they went in perfectly

    Man, I LOVE every time I get an update, stating that you've posted another video! She's looking fantastic!
    Definitely keep us posted on the windshield glass. My passenger side has a pretty nasty chip that's all spidered out now. I intend on replacing after I paint, but hadn't really done any digging on a supplier yet. I've had a few things from SECO and, short of a little confusion on freight arrangements, things were okay. I would likely go their route again for my replacement glass if things turn out well for you.
    On the Siless deadening, are you having to heat gun it at all? I know with Dynamat and eDead, the heat gun was almost a necessity to guarantee good adhesion. Otherwise, their stuff tends to peel up later on down the road.

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah true , the day I laid it, it was warm outside but a heat gun would do justice! I have one too good idea

    Great work man! Hmmwv is looking really good. That paint is reminiscent of the color they painted equipment with during the Korean war. Olive drab with brown tones mixed in. You need to start a "wishlist" like those onlyfans girls have so we can send you some tools like a pneumatic riveter! lol

    Looking great, I just wonder if the tiny corner chip in the windshield going to become a crack in the windshield down the road? Other than that, it sure looks good!! Great job, and good color.

    Did you see a different using the glass cleaner to slide rubber seals into frame...?

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah glass cleaner is the way to go setting windshield! Much easier and it doesn’t leave residue

  • @h1_maniac153

    Your windshields are 100% going to leak. They need sealant INSIDE the seal where the glass goes on the bottom half and it needs sealant all the way around the windshield frame before setting the glass. These are totally flat windows so the approach is totally different than a regular vehicle.

    • @levihaefs8705
      @levihaefs8705 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine don't, Kenworth t800/w900 trucks and Peterbilt trucks of various models all have flat glass with only rubber seals. All with no leaks installing in the same manner.

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is my 4th humvee and none have ever leaked

    Don’t forget to strap down your fuel tank. Was bouncing around when you were rolling the chassis out of the garage. Looks great, gonna be dope when fully done.
