I've stayed here 3 times now You're right it is a lovely pub Stephan the landlord is a lovely chap. The locals are a nice bunch and the barmaids are nice. I was here in September enjoying 3 nights camping. You should try Court Hill near Wantage I go there too, that is an epic campsite and Bunkhouse. Thanks for sharing this video I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are some lovely walks from the pub I particularly like the walk into Wooton River village and walking along the Avon River Canel
@@garyeaton6172 nice one, excellent pub and staff.. good beer and food, all worthwhile! I’ll check out Court Hill, always good to get recommendations Gary
@thecampingbiker791 you won't regret there are some beautiful Ridgeway walks. The Devil's Punchbowl is only a mile away, the beautiful Uffington White Horse. Also the lovely Town of Wantage. Court Hill is well known for their fabulous cakes too.
I enjoy riding the Marlborough Downs .It's surprising how many lovely country roads there are around there, Newbury/ Lambourn/ Goring/ Wantage.Nice pub ! Safe riding Richard ( Brizzle)
15 mins away there is another camping pub called the barge Inn, next to canal and with a view of a white chalk horse, they have a bit of a fascination with ufos and crop circles, have house beer and cider called roswell and area 51, (cider tasted like peardrops, battery acid and vinegar lol)
These pub campsites are ideal for motorcycle camping. Close to somewhere warm and dry should the weather close in, close to food and water and the facilities are mostly ideal. In this instance they look great.
@@thecampingbiker791 I met you on the A75 in the Scottish Borders just after you had the rally raid suspension fitted to your last bike. A friend and had been out hunting, stopped at the Teapot cafe and were admiring your bike. I think you were on a bit of a tour around the border area. Anyway, been watching your videos since and still enjoying them, though now from Oz.
@@jacksjaunts8580 ah, yes I remember.. good to hear from you and doesn’t time fly by quickly! So pleased you follow, it’s a funny old world of filming and producing videos, quite a solo activity really so when I do meet people on the road it’s so nice! Must be awesome living in OZ, if I was much younger I’d seriously consider it! Anyhow, thanks again and enjoy life 👍🏻
i don't camp but i use calimoto web to drop a 'favourite' pin on pubs/B&B/Backpackers/hostels i've either stayed in or look promising to visit as i find them. I get the added advantage of i can easily plan a route and it tells me the mileage, then i can export a gpx route to the said places to import into my beeline app. I did this for a 7 day trip around scotland including the NC500 last year, as well as overnight trips away this year, it works really well, give it a spin !!. Another excellent video, good Sunday viewing 👌⛺️
@@ramsay892 thank you, I’m pleased these reviews prove useful.. they don’t get big viewings, probably it’s a bit niche but I enjoy making them!

@@jacksjaunts8580 thanks for watching, so true and pub campsites are particularly handy in Autumn and Winter, when you can find them.

Do you maintain something like a Google Map with all the sites you've visited?
@@TheDervMan I do but it has lots of mixed personal stuff on as well so a bit awkward… I may try and create separate listing if I can !
@@thecampingbiker791 maybe create a new Google account and use that for this channel stuff.
