The whole world likes her singing voice. And the whole world is right. I like her speaking voice too. It’s soothing. She was crawling out of a depression when this interview was broadcasted. She’s at home, so the ‘brothers’ in the band say. When she says “keigaaf”, or even better “gelukkig”, I melt away. “Gelukkig”, it’s such a beautiful word in her, and mine, accent. It feels like coming home. “Gelukkig”. She said it 6 times during this interview. When I wish someone a “gelukkig” new year, I’m bloody serious.

Alot of Symphonic metal female front singers come from the Netherlands: Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Floor Jansen (first After Forever, now Nightwish), Charlotte Wessels (Delain) and Simone Simons (Epica)........... Geweldige mensen, betoverende stemgeluid vele malen beter dan die andere Nederlandse zangeressen zoals een Anouk was niks nu nog steeds niks......
En natuurlijk...Anneke van Giersbergen (Gathering, Vuur), Dianne van Giersbergen (Ex Libris en Xandria), Hannah Berndt (End of the Dream) Irene Jansen (Ayreon, Star One), Marjan Welman (Autumn) Floor, Dianne, Irene, Hannah, Anneke komen allemaal uit Noord-Brabant...zou er dan toch iets in het bier zitten daar?

When Nightwish will be back in the Netherlands could you contact them with Navarone to perform Child in Time from Deep Purple on stage ? This Nijmegen band did a great job but this time I would like to hear your voice as the female Ian Gillan, I know you can do this. Child in Time together with your performances of The Poet and the Pendulum and Ghost Love Score are the best hard rock, and/ or heavy and symphonic metal songs ever made.

Dat valt wel wat mee hoor. Er zijn genoeg radiostations die metal programmeren. Je moet ze ff zoeken. Cheap Trick is niet heavy, tenzij ze zwaar aan de coke zaten, dan ging het iets vlotter maar heavy, in standaard gitaar stemming..., is het bij lange na niet.
@@realeyesrealizereallies1176 inderdaad maken ze geen metal alhoewel ik cd's wel in die categorie terug heb gevonden in platenzaken. De neiging ze te 'hercategoriseren' toch maar onderdrukt.

Recent "ontdekt" door het tv-programma 'de beste zangers'. Ze was bij diverse mensen al bekend maar het grote publiek heeft haar nu ook leren kennen.
