    Congratulations Ryan. You look and sound at peace with yourself. Overcoming an addiction is extremely difficult. I couldn't imagine doing it with the whole football world putting you down for the past 16 years. Best wishes!

      He had all the tool he just didn't have it between the ears. I remember him screaming at teammates in the locker room I thought dudes unstable. Maybe he had alot of people telling him he was better than Payton? Who knows.

    It's such a bummer that he wasn't ready for the NFL but it is HIS STORY so I'm proud of the man he grew to be.

    Grateful recovering alcoholic addict here. This show in & of itself may have helped hundreds, if not thousands of people suffering from the evil that is addiction, just by being on this show & pouring out his soul for everyone to see & hear.
    Ryan being so open, candid & honest on an Internationally broadcasted show, has earned my respect & admiration a thousand fold!!!

    very sweet for dan patrick to tell leaf to stay in touch and that they are there for him. he didn't have to do that, and I didn't expect it from a guy who talks to hall of famers everyday. shows Dan is far greater than I thought.

    This guy was a great QB, that's why he was picked 2nd in the 98 draft. Unfortunately some guys aren't built for the NFL, mentally he cracked. He stepped out on the big stage with the whole world watching, I'm sure he felt an overwhelming amount of pressure to perform, all the hype, etc, it was to much.

    I still believe Ryan can be a positive force and and clearly he already is. Recovery for those of us who have to face it everyday involves so many factors and aspects that we are humbled repeatedly.The trick of the thing is to face it head on and try to help others which he is doing and more power to him,he is both a cautionary tale and a surviver. transcendrecoverycommunity.com/team_member/ryan-leaf/

    Dan Patrick just takes advantage of these addicts. I remember when Leaf was on the show a couple of years and Dan said how great it was that Ryan had his life together and he didn't. Leaf is probably going to get arrested again or who knows and Dan will be like, "I thought he had his life together," and he will start TRASHING Leaf like he always does. Calling him a bust. It is a gimmick and it is wrong. Patrick has no integrity.

    • @iCarb0n
      @iCarb0n 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't think Dan has ever trashed Leaf, unless you can provide proof. I feel that Dan is a willing friend to him, but he wants better out of him, and is very disappointed in him when he fails. Leaf is a grown man, and Dan understands that he has to hold himself accountable. As an interviewer and part of the media, Dan needs to follow the eye test until proven wrong.

    • @kd47730
      @kd47730 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leaf did this same exact interview when he came out with his book. Oh I'm great, I'm not doing drugs, yada yada yada. Him and Manziel have a disease. The difference is Manziel is dealing with the social networking part of this where Leaf just had to deal with the media. If I was Leaf, I would GO AWAY. Because no matter what he says, the media is going bash him and call him a bust. He will read the headlines and probably go back to drugs. That's how it works. I wish it didn't but I'm not naïve. He may have a good message but he's very sensitive and addiction creeps up it creeps freakin up!

      What are the chances Leaf gets arrested for drugs again? I hope he doesn't but this is THE SAME EXACT INTERVIEW I HEARD LAST TIME! I think it is disingenuous of Dan to have him on, he gets arrested, and then he calls him a bust and loser. It isn't right.
