- Today I wanted to talk about Nintendo's lineup this year and how when stacked against other years of the Switch, it's...actually pretty good? Everyone was expecting a remake/remaster heavy year, but there's almost twice as many new games. Let's talk about it.

Yes, this is shaping up to be a good year, from an objective point of view. Also agree S2 was never gonna be ‘23 or ‘24.
It’s crazy to think how dry this year felt from February through May compared to now.
It’s crazy how we went from only knowing as far as LM2 a couple months ago and now have a game for nearly every month. Also like how they’re digging into more niche games, like Mario and Luigi, Peach and Zelda games, and Famicom Detective Club coming back
I'm addicted to Darkest Dungeon II, just came to Switch. Super looking forward to Steamworld Heist 2 next month, another game I'll obsess over. Switch is going strong. I'm primarily on PC, but certain games just hit different on the couch or in bed with a Switch light.
One of the games in the second half of 2024 needed to swap release dates with one of the games in first half of 2024 to balance out the "quality." The general consensus about the 2024 lineup would probably be more positive if Nintendo were able to add two more games to the lineup. I think maybe if a "mid tier" franchise like a Fire Emblem Remake or a Metroid Prime 4 were able to come out this year along with a massive seller like Pokemon, there would be more positive comments about the year.
Yeah Fire Emblem 4 coming out this year would’ve made this go from a solid year to a pretty great one for me
For me, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door was already enough for this to be a real good year for Nintendo given how special that game is to me. Even with the line up we have on the way, it’s definitely my game of the year, zero question.
That said, the latter half of the year looks crazy and also has some real big games for me personally. Mario and Luigi, Mario Party, it’s not Nintendo, but the Ace Attorney Investigations collection, and next year DKC Returns HD. I always talk about how that Direct was one tailor made for me, and the Switch continues to surprise me with the amount of games they can still put out this late in for it.
I feel like it's not a bad year at all with Mario & Luigi and new Zelda around the corner. I know it's a multiplatform but I can't wait for Dragon Quest 3 too.

2023 was actually an improvement over 2022, and 2024 will deliver in my opinion, that same energy

If all of the games in the latter half deliver like I expect them to, 2024 could legitimately be one of the best years. So much of it caters to my exact taste though lmao

It'd be hard to beat 2017 off of the backs of BOTW and Odyssey alone. But TTYD, Mario Party, Zelda and Mario and Luigi, this year definitely has the quantity.

I love the line up coming up from Nintendo but there’s even more to play beyond Nintendo and I’m excited
This year isn’t bad but the later half is doing a lot of heavy lifting, the direct really saved Nintendo this year
Okay I think it's time you finally get to the next two yo-kai watch games I would recommend playing them in order because you slowly get to see the quality of life improvements and you will not believe how big the map gets in the third game I mean three completely different locations with their own subsections and me areas to go to I'd recommend
