Electric Cutouts! Why Do They Keep FAILING!?

I bought this Granatelli electric cut out about three years ago, it worked great for about a year then stopped working. I put it on the shelf in my shop for a couple years and finally have got to fixing it.
I’m not sure if these things are designed to daily and drive in the rain. So I’m not expecting perfection as it is an off-road part used at the track. Just watch the video, you’ll see how I really feel.

electric motor exposed to elements and high heat, probably why the high end manufacturers use a vacuum system
