- A Massachusetts man was attacked by a grizzly bear protecting her cub in Yosemite National Park and lived to tell the tale. Shayne Burke was on his honeymoon with wife Chloe when he went off into the park to try to get pictures of a rare owl. That's when he says he spotted a bear cub and before he knew it, the mamma bear had him in her sights. Inside Edition Digital's Mara Montalbano has more.
I love that he asked them to not euthanize the mama bear recognizing she felt her cubs were in danger. Good on him, he has a kind and loving soul. 👍🏼
My thoughts exactly.💯💜🧸
God bless this man
@@worldofmonterra indeed.💯
.... and then the bears mauls a child.
@@bobbobbington3615 I'm sure mum bear wouldn't hurt a child.🧸
Note to self: strap canisters of bear spray to every inch of my body before walking into the woods.
Bear spray armor😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Noted
Note to self. Don’t go in the woods 😂
NOT Yosemite. No grizzlies in California. This was in Montana. Good journalism requires accuracy.
It was in Grand Teton National Park; that's Wyoming.
I was so confused!?!?! I’m like grizzly in California, hmmmm, news to me.
@@user-rw2dr5my1sTheir used to be bears in California
This man's request to spare the momma bear's life (which would also have caused the baby bear's death) is truly a testament to the kind of Good Man our country needs.
Yosemite park does not have grizzly bears. CA does not have grizzly bears. Please correct this ridiculous mistake.
No grizzly bears in California... Killed off in the 1920s. Lots of black bears though.
Look it up.
No grizzly bears left in California. Killed off in the 1920s.
@@SillyLilly13they’re extinct in California
There was no bear attack. It's a fabrication. A rare owl with no name? Is this guy even a vet?
@@weedfiendofthewasteland3616 When one doesn’t understand how anything works, then everything looks like a conspiracy.
Yeah this was in Grand Teton National Park. No grizzly bears in Yosemite..
It’s incredible when the news gets something so easy to verify wrong.
Also bear spray is prohibited at Yosemite
Plus Yosemite is in California. Bears went extinct since the 1920s.
@@AlienBemular what?🤣 I just saw one last year...you mean grizzly bears...theres still lots of black bears
@@AlienBemular Which is ridiculous in itself, considering the park is named after the native word for the grizzly bear. They should have re-introduced them by now, screw the people.
Grizzly bears yes, but Yosemite has plenty of black bears.
THAT IS ONE LUCKY MAN!!
I bet he stood there and took pictures of the cubs. He is really lucky!
Never go into bear without a gun this guy was lucky
Probably shouldn’t be entering a bear 🤷♂️
It came to bear witness
NO ONE EVER goes into a bear!
I barely enter bears only if it's bare of berries... I couldn't simply bear it...🐻🍒 🫐
Bear spray is proven to be better actually
Joe: Jamie pull up the video of the Vet fighting a brown bear 🐻.
that was no fight, that was Pure Luck
LMAO
GODS hands were with you! The can of bear spray was in the right place at the most crucial time! GOD saved you from death, it was no your time! 🙏✝️May you heal/ recover with full restoration ! Blessings!
Didn't they discuss this story two weeks ago?
Yeah, they did.
Yeah
Yeah, they did. I thought I was having déjà vu.
nope
Now they wanna bear witness
HOW the HELL do you know the bear was on its HONEYMOON???
😂
Show this video to the girls who say they will pick the bear over a man when they're in the forest
Don’t tell them we came a long way from living amongst them already 🐻
a man survives a bear in the woods.
now women... would you be stranded with a man or a bear in the woods🤔🤔
I love this guy
He is the true GOAT
Understatement of the century! "Bears were a big concern of mine"!
Stay out of Bear Country😢
The way he was talking in the car his eyes looked traumatized 😅😅😅
Shayne, if you see this man, get an inreach. One of the best pieces of gear to have in the wilderness
Soooooo, someone needs to invent pepperspray clothing that bursts glass carpules when bitten…
Carpules, right on
I can't imagine the extra pain of the bear spray going into all those open wounds. I'm glad he is ok.
Didn’t you guys already post about this??
God bless you brother. 🙏❤️
David Goggins would do the same
CONGRATULATIONS on the walk down the isles and for living through a grizzly attack ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I remember this and wondered if he’s still alright 🙏🏾🙏🏾
God Bless you 🙏

"The victim"
Awwhhhh the bear is so cutee
Note to self and others if you guys decide to go camping in the woods/forest make sure to get bear spray and bug spray for protection 😎
Lived in Cali my whole life and never been to Yosemite 🧸
I swear sometimes they're late for the news
This did not happen in Yosemite.
Looks like Grand Tetons National Park.
Wrong location 😂
He could have won easily with a bit of extra juice 🍻
This guy looks like he had better odds with the bear
Why is he taking pictures as the attack is happening 😂
He could have had a go pro on him filming.
That rare owl was probably a sign of his death by a bear.but survived. God did that
Male Army Vet with bear spray barely survives, yet for sure modern women will stick with those cuddly bears. 💀
Why is this being reuploaded? This was uploaded two weeks ago I believe, so why reuploading it?
That video says the attack happened in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming and this one says Yosemite in California.
@@caesar7734 they have the same thumbnail and same thing happen in both of them
According to Silvio Dante from the Sopranos, if you're attacked by a bear, run down hill, for some reason they can't do that.
Umm, no, they can run up hills
I think God for her heart, when I saw her, he let me.
Wow
Wasn’t this an story a few weeks ago
He’s obviously out of the hospital. You don’t heal overnight.
@@genericamerican7574 I know that but this was a story a few weeks ago they already did this.
Grizly Bear's 35mph is faster than Usaine Bolt
i didnt know bears honeymooned
I'm confused by the title: was it the bear that was on a honeymoon? Or the Army vet? 'Army vet on honeymoon survives attack by bear at Yosemite'. Ahh, yes, much better.
My family used to go to Yosemite all the time. My aunt, uncle and cousins lived there. Also, my grandparents used to go and took my mom and uncles back when they all fed the bears. When I was young, we didn't even have bear boxes there. None of us ever had bear trouble. We never carried bear spray and I recall a time I was walking don the path across the river from Housekeeping camp and there was a mama and her cubs playing around a tree not far from me. I just stood there and watched and mama wasn't afraid. As soon as people stopped feeding them or locking up food, they became more wild and dangerous.
It happened before the food got locked up. How close did you get to the cubs. I don’t think they get scared of people, more angry. 🐻
Early Warning Signs. The dangers of feeding bears in national parks were acknowledged by at least 1902.
In the 1960s, the National Park Service began to phase out bear feeding in Yellowstone, recognizing the negative impact it was having on the bears and the potential danger to visitors. Almost a decade later, in 1970 the practice was officially banned in the park.
@@genericamerican7574 When I saw them, I just stopped and watched. I didn't encroach. I was maybe 12-15 feet away. I think they were used to people.
This was in Grand Teton National Park in wyoming.. not yosemite. This is embarrasing journalism
Bro (bear) was warning this dude for the last time about his decision 🤡
All freaking bull come on what part of Yosemite
This feel very familiar. Timothy Treadwell.
Bear, linebacker 354 pounds, university of Iowa go hawks!
Doesn't he looks like that discovery explorer guy
Is this a repost or I got deja voo
Well he study about bear and does not know that Yosemite does not have grizzly bears. 😂😅
That was not Yosemite, that was the Grand Tetons in Montana. Yosemite looks nothing like that.Whoever captioned it got it wrong.
@@archaeologyfornon-archaeol1014 Yosemite does have bears tho...I dunno which kind tho. Maybe brown bears
Black bears.
@@archaeologyfornon-archaeol1014 well in the caption and in audio of the clip they mentioned Yosemite! It does only have black bears not grizzly!
Yes the caption is wrong, as many others have mentioned here. The event happened in Grand Tetons National Park, not Yosemite.
The scenery shown looks nothing like Yosemite. The attack was either in Montana or Wyoming.
Reporter don't do their investigating, JEEZ
Hello! Praise God! He obviously has more work for you to do down here. That was wise of you to be able to use your skills to staunch the blood loss. You will have some dandy scars to show your children some day. Mama bear was just protecting her babies; I'm glad she was not diseased or had a condition to warrant being put down.
Never go near a bear for your HONEYmoon.
oooh
No Grizzle Bears in Yosemite anymore
You should go check
That’s bad oh no
Hey beautiful
Army Vet the survival against Bear
NOT YOSEMITE THEY JUST WANT US TO COMMENT , & they got me lol
😮
Whoever cover this report it’s gunna get fired for their huge mistake.
that innocent bear was on her honeymoon and ended the day getting pepper sprayed😔
Looks like Grand Tetons, definitely not Yosemite! No grizzlys in California. How did that title get there. Does not even look like Yosemite!
Californian here. Agreed.
🧸
Have u ever heard to not go up to a mama bears baby..
im still taking the bear
Some women would rather a bear than a man.
Milliseconds not microsecond 😊
Kill’s me when ppl say they love animals but yet THEY EAT THEM 😐stuuuuupid 🤦🏽♀️
no one is eating that damned bear lol omg
Yeah they love… to eat them! 😂
TETONS NOT YOSEMITE
This was NOT in Yosemite National Park!!! Yosemite doesn’t have grizzlies. It’s probably Yellowstone or somewhere near there…the mountain range shown in the video is definitely of the Rocky Mountains.
Tetons. He was recovering from a brain tumor too.
Army 💪💪💪
I will always hike with guns
Grizzly bear in California?!
No way...
Yosemite is on the Nevada border
No grizzly bears in California anymore just black bears. This was Grand Tetons in either Wyoming or Montana, not Yosemite.
Correct. Caption is wrong. This is Grand Tetons National Park.
The last Grizzly Bear in California was 1924. You were attacked by a Black Bear.
Either it wasn’t in Yosemite or it wasn’t a grizzly. Can’t be both. No grizzlies in California.
Even the birds were amazed at what had happened lol being a gun buddy, going in the woods with just spray is like walking in the hood with a knife lol
Many do it safely every year. Too afraid not to go armed? Than do not go. Killing mom would leave the cubs to starve.
The *GIVEN* of the century! “Bears were a big concern of mine”!
A lot of the times the people get to close and then blame the wildlife that attacked them .
I thought California didn’t have Grizzly bears. Were they reintroduced?
That is not Yosemite, that is Grand Tetons National park probably Montana or Wyoming,?
There's no grizzly bears in Yosemite...... This was Grand Teton NP
This is an old story
One of the few instances where a women chooses the man over the bear 😭
Im taking the man
And women really say they’d rather be trapped in the forest with a bear over a man 🤦🏻♂️
They say that because it’s part of a social media fad, and just don’t feel safe around men in general. Not because they actually mean it.
Men attack and un alive more than bears do 🫵
First off this was not in Yosemite NP there has not been a grizzly bear in Yosemite for more than 100 years. Thiey we’re not in Yellowstone either. This happened near Signal Mountain in Grand Teton National Park Wyoming. Terrible reporting. Please delete this post and correct.
There is no grizzly bears in Yosemite LOL sorry to inform you that is a black bear
80% of tiktok still going to choose a bear over a man in the woods.
you don’t go out there armed? how you’re in animals kitchen and not protected?
Gotta carry one of those strobe flashlights.
@@HeavilyCensoredKitty oh yea that’s going to stop a bear?

To inside edition - You absolutely sure this happened it yosemite? I heard it was tetons in wyoming. Grizzlies apparently aren't currently found in california.
The bears should be removed
