      Agreed!!! My heart sank. What a beautiful mother and daughter, the daughter is apologizing to the man who came to help which shows how kind and considerate she is, and the mother is telling her daughter to let her go!!! Such consideration for the other person for all 3 of these magnificent people!!!

He could’ve stopped the car right there and just said no I am not driving towards an active shooting but he knew that if this Dad had to get his daughter out of there before she got hurt and he did everything he could to get him there as fast as he could. The student that was choking, I am just shocked that no one he was sitting with was showing any kind of alarm let alone assistance, especially the student with glasses. He never even looked up or was spatially aware of anything going on around him beyond his phone and picking at his hair. Thank goodness the coach was alert, I have never witnessed this level of apathy, I mean across the board, even with the students at the other tables.

      I think that these kids experienced the bystander effect. It's frustrating, but it occurs even with adults. I'm expecting many safety lectures in their futures.

    • @paintedanna8641
      @paintedanna8641 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +47

      I think it’s a mix of bystander effect and awareness. When I was in school, it was very common to put a TH-cam video on, put in some earbuds and eat quietly. I didn’t care to talk to the students around me, so I actively tuned them out. The choking student in this video didn’t appear to be gesturing or getting people to realize he was choking, so that could add to it. Students in their own world, not sure if their peer is making a joke, and untrained in what scenarios like this look like…it can easily add together to create a perceived apathy.
      I’ve seen other videos where students absolutely realize their peer is choking and take action, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously. This video in particular also seemed like they were young, maybe 14-15.

    As a medic I’ve responded to a child in a hot car and he got lucky in that he didn’t die. His mother was eating inside a Subway and grandma was furious and said she would take her daughter to court to get custody of the child. The child had a horrible diaper rash and he was red and sweaty all over. Another time we were enroute back to the county after dropping off a patient at an ER outside of the county and we found a child locked in a car. A third time was a bit different but we found a toddler who was about 2 years old only in a diaper walking next to a busy highway. Family didn’t know he got out of the house.

      My husband was driving home late from work, pulled into our neighborhood and thought, "What... what in the world is that?". He pulled his car over and walked between two of the houses. It was a naked 2 year old sitting on the ground. He flipped out and called 911. When police got there, I guess the mother had already called 911 because she was warming the bath water and couldn't find her two year old. The whole situation was incredibly lucky because I think it was 20 out so they told my husband in something like 15 minutes the child would have already had frostbite and within 45 would have died. Crazy crazy luck.

    I don't judge, but why does any mother leave their small child in the car while going inside a store is beyond my comprehension. If I can't bring my daughter inside with me, I'd rather not go. I can't even think of a situation where this would be a thought. If it's an emergency I'll still wake her, or carry her in if she's asleep. During the day or night, I'd be too terrified or her being kidnapped. I don't even let her walk to the next aisle if I can't see her. The third one at 4:02 is unbelievable, mainly because of the guy sitting on the left in the black shirt. Just look at him....casually on his freaking zombie phone, no reaction whatsoever to a guy choking nor to the teacher saving a life! Just wow....

      Grrrr....Yeah he was looking right at him when the guy started choking so he put his head down and started playing with his hair. He glanced up one more time and seen it wasn't over and put his head back down. You know all his friends had to see this video and that kid has to live with this

    You can't tell me the dad that jumped in on the croc didn't watch a lot of Steve Irwin. ❤ his leap and hold down was perfect. He definitely saved that young lady's life and hopefully her hand. Crocs aren't very smart. It didn't really understand what it was doing. I've watched one eat the foot off another one. Instead of the chicken it was being fed. Surprisingly resilient dinosaurs, the one with the missing hand just turned to the other like, really?? I'm not chicken!

      When my mom was growing up, her horse Smoky liked to jump the fence into the neighbor's pasture.
      Really late one night, my Grandpa Dean woke her up and told her Smoky did it again, so she got her boots on and went outside.
      Somehow, the dumbass had gotten his front half over the fence, but couldn't quite drag his enormous booty across with him so he was just standing there half on this side and half on that side.
      Took Mom half an hour to get him unstuck and that's not including all the time she spent laughing at him.
