So no autofocus improvements for current users? I have the X-T5 and X-H2S and have been patiently waiting for AFC autofocus for photos improvements for both. Hope to hear something soon. Having the flagship camera I would hope that I can use it to its full potential before the new cameras come out. 😕
@@RianMalik The film simulation dial overrides your recipe settings, so you need to adjust the film sim separately after switching the recipe. If you forget to switch the sim after changing the recipe, you'll ruin the colors of your shots (there is no EVF to check colors while outside). The only way to avoid that is to set the film sim dial to 'C' and glue it in place to prevent accidental switching. For me, it's a mystery why do they added a dedicated film sim control, especially since there's a combined PSAM + C1...C4 wheel right next to it. C1…C4 are assigned to film sims out of the box (and can be customized by user for recipes despite of new sim wheel). Why did they make two different simulation controls, one of which overrides the other? An X-S20-style setup (the PSAM + C1…C4 and the customizable command dial) would be much better and useful here. They could set the command dial to film sims by default, but forcing users to use this wheel strictly for sims feels like a big mistake.
@@oparinme(1) if I have custom settings (recipe) for particular film simulation, will it be saved into that specific film simulation I've chose on the dial? and (2) will it be reset to default if I rotate it to a different film sim? either way, I can see it can be frustating for a lot of fuji shooters. I think it is still acceptable for me despite the hassle. It just if I have to bake the dial only in the C1...C4, and the sim dial will be useless like you said.
@@RianMalik It's bad but not THAT bad 😁 Yes, you can customize film sims on the dial. And this changes will be saved while you spinning the wheel. But this way you can make only one recipe per simulation. For me it is not suitable because I have several recipes with same simulations (e.g. 3 recipes based on Classic chrome for different scenarios as city, nature, and indoor, 2 recipes of Acros for high and low contrast and so on). Using film sim customization you will be limited by 1 sim = 1 recipe. Using standard c1…c7 for recipes you have no this kind of limitation.
I'd love to be excited for the 500mm f5.6 but the AF-C and subject detect issues still remain on the XT-5 and XH2S (I have both). Previous firmware had better AF for wildlife. Its really hard to get excited and want to spend a few thousand USD on a product that will not focus on your subject. I really hope the new firmware gets the system back on track. I test drove a Sony and Canon over the weekend and I'm deeply considering changing systems.
I suspect they did and that’s why Version 1.03 was fantastic. But then a cease and desist was done because parts of the code were patented or proprietary so they had to remove that code from future firmware. What other reason is there for an autofocus to get worse?
Fuji, while it is a great idea offering a 500mm lens why not FIX a problem on your EXISTING PRODUCT. The autofocus on the XT5. It is sadly total crap. It needs to be fixed or you will lose a lot of customers. Me included!
As a Sony user for years, I congratulate Fujifilm. It has done very good things. It has achieved many things. When the X100vi came out, I was thinking of switching to Fuji but I still couldn't get it so I gave up..

I am as a customer very satisfied with Fuji. The lenses and possibilities I face with Fuji are for me more satisfying, comparing to my former brands. So I can not agree with your last sentence, claiming that customer satification is not of interest for Fuji. I think the lenses present today is satisfying me as a customer, cause it is going the right way. More light weight with hopefully high quality. And for me it is clear that Fujifilm will not answer your questions, cause the development is going for further new devices, with features other customers like. I am a customer who wants not an updated X-Pro with 40M. I am satified if I can see new ideas. And I am very happy (satisfied) about getting regulary firmware updates and excellent lenses.

my issue is that I've not heard of one of these photographers that is reviewing the gear. Last time I had heard of quite a few of the photographers but not one of these people has any Int'l reputation whatsoever which does concern me significantly.

Now I'm very disappointed. Why would anyone buy a 500mm lens for $3,000.00 when your camera doesn't have reliable autofocus? What is it good for? Unless you're using it for landscapes or non-moving subject matter, it's pretty much useless for anything pertaining to wildlife if you own a XH-2s (which I own), XT-5, XS-20 or XH-2. I took my XH-1 with the 100-400mm with me for birding today because I didn't want to be disappointed with my all powerful XH-2s with its focusing issues. I'm not understanding why Fuji is so tone deaf when it comes to autofocus. I guess when your sales start to plummet, you'll get the picture.

All the presenters looked like they had a plank shoved up their back and the chap introducing the 500mm lens really struggled with his lines. It would be no shame Fuji to use professionals who could make things clearer and more digestible. I must admit, I thought I was the only one struggling to get my XT-5 to autofocus so I put it down to my own ignorance.
You announced an AF firmware update, but why hasn't there been any mention of it at all? If you can't keep your promises, shouldn't there at least be an apology? This is misleading your customers! How can you call a camera that can't even focus properly a flagship? We are fans of Fuji. You're ignoring your loyal customers and pushing them to move to other companies.
Please bring the firmware update for smooth brightness control / stepless apecture to the XF 18-120mm. That lens is advertised as having stepless apecture, but in reality there is no way to use not given current firmware on the X-H2s.

*For anyone who don't like film simulation dials, are you a Lightroom user? *And that kind of small-type camera, when attached to XF 27mm f/2.8, it will turn into basically a point and shoot camera... *With its specs, it will become what is basically scaled-down version of X-S20 *They added 3-capsule mic, but without ability to add windscreens, still turning it into vlogging camera, though... *XF500mm f/5.6, it's basically wildlife, or bird photography lens, with full frame equivalent of around 750mm, 762mm to be precise... Needs a body with very good AF to get along with, though... *GF500mm f/5.6, very long lens for medium format cameras, maybe even one of the longest *XF16-55mm f/2.8II, this lens is already overdue!

Keep waiting for the x-e5. The x-m5's film sim dial just ignore the huge fuji recipes ecosystem and its usage scenarios.

*For anyone who don't like film simulation dials, are you a Lightroom user?
*And that kind of small-type camera, when attached to XF 27mm f/2.8, it will turn into basically a point and shoot camera...
*With its specs, it will become what is basically scaled-down version of X-S20
*They added 3-capsule mic, but without ability to add windscreens, still turning it into vlogging camera, though...
*XF500mm f/5.6, it's basically wildlife, or bird photography lens, with full frame equivalent of around 750mm, 762mm to be precise... Needs a body with very good AF to get along with, though...
*GF500mm f/5.6, very long lens for medium format cameras, maybe even one of the longest
*XF16-55mm f/2.8II, this lens is already overdue!

なぜグリップがある右側にマイク端子以外の端子があるのでしょう？
X100ⅵも同じような仕様ですが、ケーブルを使いながらでは右手で持てないしケーブル未使用時でも撮影でカメラを持っているとX100ⅵと同じように手が熱くなってくる現象が起こるのではないかと思われます。
