I popped into the shop on Thursday with the dodgy black minnow which you kindly glued up. Got three bass off the surface at Christchurch Harbour on a Patchinko early morning as you suggested and a couple of garfish at Hengistbury on the metals. Pretty chuffed, especially as no one I met was catching. Thanks for the tips. 👍🏻
We used your shop for are 2 day trip in poole harbour ,the ragworm you supplied was fantastic ....next trip down we will pay a visit again ,thank you for quality bait
Cracking video Tom lovely fishing for bream on lite gear underwater footage shows how quick bream bite can't wait for next video stay safe & tight lines
Looks idyllic, spent a lot of years in my youth fishing at Mudeford down your way , i actually got married at Highcliffe castle down the road. You present the videos so well , great to watch. Not at all jealous you live in such a beautiful part of the world and we're stuck in the grotty midlands. Keep up the good work.
Was down there 4 weeks ago with my mate .....we fished off his boat wehad bream up to 3lb......first time I've fished Poole Harbour the place amazed me.......we had mullet ,giltheads ,bass etc ...was so much fun
Lovely sporting way to fish for Giltheads Tom, good video. They go well when they pick up stinger baits on a beachcaster with a 6oz leads. Agree with you using Chinus, perfect hook for them. Got bitten by a decent one this summer so I can vouch for the strength in their jaws!
Brilliant video as ever Tom,i live around Poole harbour but never thought of wading and fishing ultra light ,thank you for the insight sir, definitely be trying that next year ,cant believe i missed this video till now 😢
Hi Mark. I've always been a fan of the harbour on low water, I think a lot of people miss out by only fishing high. I normally get some really good gilts doing this, but only managed smaller ones this year. Definitely worth a go next year.
Excellent video Tom, really liked the underwater footage. Btw - as it is getting to that time of year now, any chance of a sqidding off the shore video soon ?
Hey bud, sorry, I only just noticed your message. Let me know when you're down next, and we'll have a look at somewhere different. Hope you and your good lady are keeping well.
Do you think in a venue like Poole Harbour they could be targeted on lure or fly? I’ve caught baby ones in little backwaters before but wouldn’t mind catching one nearer 1lb. Great video!
Hi mate. My apologies, I genuinely thought I'd replied to this! I think Poole could offer a great chance at one on the fly or lure, plenty of scope to wade around in the shallows and getting into the channels where the bigger ones lurk. I'm planning on doing a bit more fly fishing this year, it's been far too long since I've done any! I'll hopefully get a chance to hit the harbour and have a go for these. Let me know if you fancy meeting up. Great channel by the way. Just had a little look, some really nicely put together videos. Keep up the good work.
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 no worries 😄 yeh I imagine crawling crab or shrimp flies along the bottom on sinking line could work, as long as it’s not too weedy. Thanks for the kind words, I’m hoping to do more when the days start getting longer, the Winter is hard for getting out regularly with family and stuff but in the Summer I can be out for a few hours before the rest of the family get out of bed 😄 A meet up would be great! I’ve never fished that way before so a bit of local knowledge would be very helpful! Tight lines!
Another gut wrenching film to watch for us who are built with high levels of jealousy….well done Ok what is the waist bag? We don’t seem to do kit like that here..or do we? Cheers Tom stunning stuff as ever
🤣🤣 sorry mate. I'll do some videos of me not enjoying myself, blanking, breaking rods etc. Balance things out. The wait bag is a Drennan Specialist EVA Bait Pouch.
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 I think you managed the breaking of rod in Christchurch harbour! So we’ll let you off on that one.. Thanks for the pouch info and again for the video 🙌🙌
Another brilliant video! I assume that there are many points of access to this channel which, as you say, can be clearly seen on Google Earth. Would you say that the potential wading area from the Sandbanks/Evening Hill area is of a fairly uniform depth when trying to get within casting distance of the channel? Assuming that the channel is fishable/reachable only around low water do you find that it is possible to fish this way irrespective of the size of the tides or are heaps better and probably safer? I assume that on spring tides you would have to head back to shore earlier/quicker.
A middle tide is better, too big and the fishing window is too short, too small and it's a bit deep to wade! I would stress if you're going to do any wading like this, go down at big spring low and suss it all out. As you say, the depth is very uniform around sandbanks and evening hill, so I do feel safe when doing it, but I'd never take risks if I'm unsure.
Sadly so, I've been desperately trying to fit in with a good looking work colleague of mine, but sadly the crabs didn't do their jobs properly and I'm still decaphalangical (Don't Google that, I made it up).
Great video. I’m of the belief that we have some of the best fishing in the country down here, with such a diverse species of fish to catch. We can target fish all year round, without ever leaving Dorset. But I maybe a tad biased though, but I do love our fishing 😂
No, I couldn't agree more! The variety of species and venue types we have is second to none. This time of year I struggle to decide what to do next, but only because there's too many options and I'm indecisive!
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428I know how you feel 😂 I’m going to go for a couple of days/nights fishing and wild camping, but I can’t decide where. Either Southbourne past the promenade towards Hengistbury Head, or go down to Chesil Beach. I just need to choose between sand and shingle 😂

It really is mate. Although I miss the warmer months already!
You’re so lucky to have fishing like that on your doorstep Tom, really enjoyed the video cheers mate 👍🎣🎣
I must admit I do love where I live! The variety of fishing is incredible!
What fantastic fishing, especially the opening sequence 😁

Thanks mate :-) Probably my favourite session of the summer! Just love the relaxed, simple and light approach.

Thanks mate. It was amazing to see all those fish feeding around my legs, I was hand feeding them by the end! Amazing experience!

What a nice stress free peacfull trip to have Tom 👍

Tom you make it look so easy 😊! Cracking watch 👍.
Thanks again mate. Sometimes, when everything falls into place, it is easy, and very very enjoyable.

Thank you 😊
Hi tom , that looked so tranquil that time of day. All the best from G.Y.
It really was. I love early mornign sessions.
Good work matey, enjoyed again 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks bud, hope you and the family have had a good summer.
Always interesting Tom, looks good fun!😊
I love to mix up my fishing, make the most of the variety we have, this definitely fits into the fun category!
Nice couple of sessions mate, must give that another go
Yes mate, happy to go with you again if you like...
Yes would love to, may need a little advance notice to book the day off
No worries, let's get something planned. I'm in shop Monday, I'll look at tides etc.

Absolutely, they've been showing well for a couple of weeks now, so I need to get out and have a crack.
Love it mate 👍 awesome stuff as usual
Thanks matey. Hope you guys have had a great summer.
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 yeah all good. Enjoyed coming down to Bournemouth hopefully re book for next year 👌

Great video. May i be bold enough to ask what area if the harbour ie baiter, Salterns or Hamworthy. Will give them a go from the kayak on Monday.
Look on Google Earth at the channel from Salterns round Sandbanks bay, that's a great channel for them, perfect for kayaking.
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 many thanks. I will have a look now. My best gilt is about 3 inches so fingers crossed.
I'm sure you'll beat that matey. Be confident with the bait and hook size.

Ah, yes, so I did. I try to forget these things!
Great Video Tom. Would you ever use braid as your mainline in this situation. I wonder would it help to set the hook in the Gilts mouth?
Hi mate. No, I wouldn't use braid for this. Although there's an argument that it could work, I'm just not a fan of fishing braid when bait fishing.

Pros and cons to both. Less people at Chesil. More fish at Hengistbury.
