- Join us this week as we find a fabulous anchorage surrounded by sandbars which keeps the crowds at bay but creates some concerns when a storm hits and the anchor alarm goes off at night.

GREAT captures. Day and night footage makes it super real for us armchair viewers!
Thanks guys . Some day maybe you’ll join us!
Awesome place for a “Sundowner”!
Yes its a great view.
My husband and I really enjoy your videos. We live in Wilmington, NC and have a 19 ft center console. We both work FT but you are motivating us to think outside the box and realize you can pack a lot of life into small spaces. Would love to hear where you guys are headed next. Cheers!
Wendy , we also still work . The boating happens in-between . We will be on Georgian Bay on Lake Huron this summer . It is one of our favourite places to cruise. Thanks for the kind words and support , we can all learn so much from each other!
The need and use for an anchor alarm is on full display in this video. It’s what happens after the alarm shown in great detail breaking down cause and effect. O and what a special anchorage complete with light show. Another great one guys. Thank You!
You are welcome. Appreciate the positive feedback ! It's nice to know you are out there.
I love the tugboat it looks like you guys have a beautiful time
Great video. You guys are living the good life. I hope to retire and live exactly how you guys are living. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels
Hi John, maybe someday we will see you out here ! Thanks for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. All the best to you .
Love the vids. You asked for suggestions. Film the depth finder and the water on the way out. Curious how shallow it gets and how you work the trim in 18 inches of water. You two are awesome
David , we will try to do that for you ! Thanks for the suggestion.
Just found your channel and absolutely love it. My husband and I are in contract with our boat and can’t wait to get to the Bahamas. Thanks for sharing
How wonderful ! You will have a fabulous time in the Bahamas. Thanks for taking the time to leave such a nice comment.
Just cool
Yes it was - one of our favourite spots so far!
That was a cool place to anchor! The lightning storm was awesome to watch. I enjoyed the video!
Mac, Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you are well.
You are a fortunate man-- won't say Lucky, that is too trite. Appreciate your blessing daily.
Thanks Wink, I do consider myself an incredibly fortunate man- on every level. All the best to you my friend.
@@expeditionseanest Thank you for your video's...
Very useful discussion of wind vs. or with tide. This event illustrates well the value of 'patrolling' a possible anchorage (depths, obstructions, distances etc.) before deciding where to plop the hook given the predicted weather. A suggestion for you based on feedback I see you getting from your viewers, who seem to be saying "I want to do this too! How do you do it?" Suggest you explain how you access weather and wind data, which products you collect, and what nav software you rely on (Garmin alone? Garmin plus Navionics? Prefer one over the other?), and which info sources on cruising destinations you have found most helpful. Great way your hard earned lessons learned could be made available to others.
Thanks for the advice Jack . Good information. We will try to add those things in the future.
You guys make a great team, salute
Thank you for the kind words .
In the NW, have a newly purchased R23, I can't imagine making it to the Bahamas, but we'll enjoy the islands up near our home. I'm enjoying watching your adventures, and wish with every new video we could get there - thanks for posting!
Lise, we hope to make it out your way some day also. There are so many beautiful places in North America . The warmth of the Bahamas is pretty fantastic though. Glad to hear you are enjoying the videos. We appreciate your comments.
Maybe I've missed this in previous episodes, but where do you store your truck/trailer while cruising? Love your content, It's helped to convince my wife that something like this is totally possible without being incredibly wealthy......Look forward to the next video!!!
Hello Pat , we store our vehicle and trailer at a friend's place in Homestead. We are happy to help you in inspiring you to live your dream. There are so many ways to do this on a budget. Thanks for the support of our channel .
I enjoyed and supported your channel. By seeing you guys try to navigate in the darks, perhaps have the walki talkies and night vision googles available handy would help greatly.
Thanks for the suggestions . That might come in handy.
thanks again ya'll!
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching !
Nice family
Thank you 😊
Hows the boat? You don’t talk about it a lot but is it serving your needs? Looks like it’s a nice manageable craft.
Chris , we talk about the boat and how it handles , gas mileage etc on and off in some of the episodes. Perhaps you will find what you are looking for in The Bimini to Miami crossing episode 47, or the boat walkthrough interior episode 34 and exterior ep 33. We love the boat ! Do you have specific questions?
Why does it ALWAYS start to blow like stink with a full wind shift late at night? Been there several times, very tense. Nice video, thanks.
Good question! We have found the weather forecasts especially unreliable this year , so you have to be prepared for anything. Thanks for your support John.
get you a mantis anchor
Seems this anchorage was a good spot to add a stern anchor to mitigate the risk of swinging into a sandbar?
John, I agree that a stern anchor would work fine in lighter winds but not in the winds were experiencing.
HI
New subscribers, fellow Canadians spending the winter in sarasota, love your channel currently shopping for a new boat love the Ranger Tug, are you pleased with your purchase ?
Welcome a board.. We are very pleased.. Would purchase the exact boat again.
Thanks for all the great videos! Question: Did you have any luck fishing on the Exuma Banks? We’re chartering a boat in May, and the rest of the crew doesn’t seem too interested in hitting the drop. Is it worth dragging anything between islands, or would it just be barracuda?
Juan, we only had luck with barracuda in that area of the Bahama bank.
@@expeditionseanest thanks. Same story between Nassau and Exumas?
Dream.
Thanks Denver, it really is. For as long as we can manage it!
Not afraid of parasites in the raw fish?
Some, but we eat it anyways !
