I mean, it largely focuses on a police officer and his family; I don't know if that's been done with an African American family before. Add to that the geeky neighbor who spends much of his time there. Is it just because of his crush on the daughter, or does he feel safer there? I can't see Urkel as the gangster type as portrayed in this skit, but his alter ego, Stephan Urkel, could be reimagined as the result of some kind of trauma. It could be a pretty serious show, if properly handled.
Did you see the pre-show of the Jake Paul and Ben Askren fight? Urkel was showing Snoop Dogg his weed, that's how he started. Now he's on the streets of Chicago ready to beat the shit out of anyone that fucks Laura Winslow. "Did I Do Thaaaat?" Suddenly became dark as hell.

As far as Family Matters, everyone should see the episode where Eddie is racially profiled and Carl confronts the racist cop Amazing episode, and incredible acting by Reginald ValJohnson
Such a powerful episode. I remember the end gave me chills, even as a kid. Carl asks the racist cop's partner, who's young and new to the force, why he wanted to become a police officer. He says something to the extent of a desire to protect innocent people from bad people. Then Carl says that his partner is one of the bad ones. In such a subtle way it showed how regular folks with good intentions could easily become normalized and corrupted by others and then the cycle continues. Nothing was over the top; no one was written like a comic book villain, and that subtly made the message so poignant. Fantastic writing, directing and acting.
Okay I actually REALLY want to see this. Bel-Air took itself too seriously to have any real humor in it, this looks like it could be fun as hell if done well.
Yeah, I agree. There is something honestly interesting here conceptionally. If it could strike the balance Bel-Air couldn't find; of being Serious but still being able to be lighthearted and funny at times and you could have something special.
_Bel-Air_ just wanted to be dark and edgy, that's it. Hell, just from watching the commercials for it when it came out, I wouldn't be surprised if that version of the Banks family got where they were because of illegal activities.
Chris honestly has acting range; I would watch this reboot. Let Kenan produce this; SNL outdid themselves. The production quality is insane. 🤓 When Ariana's (Urkel's Mom) character threw the bottle at Einstein's poster, those details were top-notch, sheer brilliance.

However I didn't have access to any pills like that luckily. Especially since, as so many people say, life does get better. Life will have its ups and downs but I've developed a very strong ability to compartmentalize.

I am from a small town in Alexander City Alabama and I was bullied coming up through school but I know it's a difference now and then but I stood up for myself and fought back double teamed or triple teamed I fought back and eventually I was left alone word got out he will fight you a big difference and I never told my mom I was being bullied I just responded back and I grew up in the projects.
Family matters can re mind you of the black version of "Full House." This combination of a no exaggerated-voiced Urkel who had more of a ruffstlye while being a drama instead of comedy, with Officer Carl (was the character's name as best recalled), it was SUCH a twist to him arresting Urkel, but being the mentor too was more easy to picture actually happening in the real show.
This is legit a great idea. I'm talking making a parody reboot like everybody hates Chris for family matters or any 90s show. The only problem is it has to be actually clever and funny in every episode.
It gets tougher and tougher the longer it goes. Brooklyn 99 and New Girl were both extremely good recent comedy sitcoms IMHO and even they were running out of steam after 7-8 seasons.
The fact they ended it on "family f*cking matters" is so beyond perfect.

My bullying was so bad I actually try to commit suicide once, by pills. However I didn't have access to any pills like that luckily.
Especially since, as so many people say, life does get better. Life will have its ups and downs but I've developed a very strong ability to compartmentalize.

I am from a small town in Alexander City Alabama and I was bullied coming up through school but I know it's a difference now and then but I stood up for myself and fought back double teamed or triple teamed I fought back and eventually I was left alone word got out he will fight you a big difference and I never told my mom I was being bullied I just responded back and I grew up in the projects.

He deserved it. Chris has good comedic range and there’s only a small number of sketches he’s in where he doesn’t knock it out of the park.

Family matters can re mind you of the black version of "Full House." This combination of a no exaggerated-voiced Urkel who had more of a ruffstlye while being a drama instead of comedy, with Officer Carl (was the character's name as best recalled), it was SUCH a twist to him arresting Urkel, but being the mentor too was more easy to picture actually happening in the real show.

This is legit a great idea. I'm talking making a parody reboot like everybody hates Chris for family matters or any 90s show. The only problem is it has to be actually clever and funny in every episode.
It gets tougher and tougher the longer it goes. Brooklyn 99 and New Girl were both extremely good recent comedy sitcoms IMHO and even they were running out of steam after 7-8 seasons.
