So if I'm doing the math right on this, When Steve went into the game, the team was down 44-66 with, we'll say, 7 minutes left in the game. The final score was 74-73. So they went on a 30-7 run to close the game. That's insane.

I've read the same thing. But if it's him playing in this video (not a camera trick or double) and he doesn't deliberately play bad according to the script, he's nowhere near good to be in the NBA or any other professional basketball. No size, no shooting, no jumping, just some ball handling. As a naive kid at the time, he must have been believing that he was that good.
EDIT: I seem to have ignored that he might have later grown in height as an adult and also improved his passing, shooting, jumping.

Jaleel White was a real athlete and basketball player/fan. That's how he had handles. He even said it in the EW reunion. But even back then, I could tell he played.

This show was phenominal. For example: Look at all the talent here, physical comedy, verbal comedy, sketch comedy, talented professionals, and as always a moral lesson imparted.

But all jokes aside this is when TV/movies used to have inspiring moments accompanied by an inspiring score - this is so pre mid-90s

This was the one where Carl fixed the roof and then Urkel ruined it, blasting off into the Chicago skyline.

Don't forget that because of urkel they went on a 29-17 run at end of the game to win that's impressive

Urkel coldest tv legend baller ever. He's underrated and his skills are almost forgotten. Remember he banged on Eddie to win the 2 on 2 streetball tournament.

Would have been awesome to see the pep talk Steve gave Laura before this game. Folks would understand Steve Urkel and what he was all about.

I loved that part. She had no idea how to cope with being unpopular & rejected, yet Steve knew the feelings of being treated badly constantly & he wouldn't give up. I have to say Laura had to also love his determination & perseverance along with other qualities she loved about him.
