    I've heard procrastination projects described as side-quests. So, you could say that you were in a side quest to make sure the adventuring crew could eat well!

    It's interesting that though you studied design your projects are really in the tradition of found sculpture. There is always a great sense of whimsy in your pieces; that they actually function is like a surprise enclosed in an amusing shell.
    "Functional Sculpture" is, I think, the best way to describe your work.

    Love it all. Home reno can actually traumatize you, so knowing how to recover from trauma can be very helpful. Also, for planning, I've found writing each step on pieces of paper, so they be moved around to get the correct order is helpful.

    Same thing happened to me lately, I'm building a tiny house and at this point I was just tired and thinking of all the things I had to do made me anxious, because I wanted to do everything at the same time and I couldn't rest because all these things were on my head. I finally just let go on the problems on the inside of the house I couldn't resolve and decided to let my brain rest while doing the outside hoping after some times I'll be ready again to solve these inside problems. It was like a knot in my brain and letting go and give myself some time untied it. Although I put some order in my head and made things step by step even if was little step. Don't give yourself so much pressure, take the time you need, all of this is a marathon not a sprint. Great built requires great patience.

    I would go with underfloor heating, it runs at a lower temperature than central heating, i know in Germany you are phasing out oil and gas heating, so an air source heat pump might be the best option
    Underfloor heating should be less damaging to the wooden structure because it runs cooler, you don't have a hot radiator next to it
    Toastie posicles ? awesome idea, put a stick in each half (one at side, one at front of each) to reduce weight, less risk if falling off ;)

    • @polerin
      @polerin ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Laura, I can understand your procrastination with working on your house. It is the beginning of the season that outside work begins and the task very overwelming. I feel your anxiety, because I have an old house that is not nearly finished. Every year at this time I am overwelmed and hesitate to start. Yes, once you start, it will become easier to continue on. So much to do, but the process is as important as the finished product. We are lucky to have an old house in our lives. Enjoy it! You should switch which bulb goes on/off, so that while heating/reheating, the red bulb is lit, and the green one gets brighter when things are ready.

    You will love the house once you are done. Even more 'cause all the work you put into it. Much more than if you just had bought a "finished" house 😊👍

    Laura! You are a brilliant inventor, and it is so much fun to watch you create and laugh. You lifted my spirits as you lifted your own. The house is a big job, but you will succeed. You always do. Just one step at a time. Love your channel. Love your inventions.

    I love you and Felix as a team. The two of you are so funny and fun😂❤. Your house is going to be so beautiful when it is finished. Just think how amazing it will feel once you get to move in. ❤

    It's weird, the house updates make me very aware of time passing, more than the months or the date... love th videos as always Laura thank you for being you!

    My advice for trying to get back into a really big job like this... host a (BYO plate) BBQ there, and invite as many friends and family as possible, and have a working bee, or if there aren't things they can help with yet, have a sign up calendar, for days they are happy to come and help -- then if they are coming in two weeks, you've got a deadline, which always gets me motivated -- and if there is a steady stream of friendly helpers coming, it will feel like fun instead of drudgery. -- you've got this!

    That was awesome!! I love how your brain works, great job!! My favorite boss would say, when I procrastinated or just didn’t want to do something, “Put your big girl pants on!” …. Love that saying and sometimes its a great motivator!!😊😊😊

    Too much time to think will definitely kill a project! I think the hardest part is behind you, you will be excited to have people working on it again and will progress quickly! Love watching your videos and your procrastination!

    Thank you guys for the video. It must be challenging to consistently put out these videos but I appreciate you. I have my own projects that I procrastinate on and it's nice to know others do, too. Have a great week!
