    I love the little detail of the chauchat jamming at 5:26. That machine gun was such an infamous piece of crap that couldn't go more than three or four rounds without stoppage of some type. The American troops issued them would often just throw them away in disgust because they were more dangerous to the guy holding it than to the enemy.

    • @sErgEantaEgis12
      @sErgEantaEgis12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That was the American version which was poorly rechambered in .30-06. The original French version in 8mm Lebel was more functional though not flawless (it was made worse by the dust and mud of the trenches).

    • @thomasecker9405
      @thomasecker9405 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sErgEantaEgis12 Yep... the Chauchat was built for charging the enemy as opposed to trench combat, which was the main cause of these assault weapons jamming as much as they did.

    Lego, like many of others have said, doesn't make war themed sets. However, a Polish company named Cobi makes a lot of them, mostly vehicles. They do have a few building (as in like a house is a building) sets for the war themed stuff, but it's mainly for special edition vehicle sets.

      Some online companies such as Brickmania, United Bricks, Brick tactical, Brickarms ect. Make lego sets and soldiers using 100% real lego. Some helmets require melting and moulding the material lego is made of. JD brick productions even has his own store which he uses the vehicles in the store for his stopmotion animations. Really good content

    There's a whole bunch of different historical battles they got on that channel. From WW2, they got El Alamein, D-Day, and the Battle of the Bulge. for WW1 they have the Somme, Verdun, Cambrai, Villers-Bretoneux, and a generic aerial battle. They also got some old Revolutionary War and Civil Wr videos, and they also have one for the Battle of Otumba in 1521 and a Viking naval battle from 1000. And that's just off the top of my head. They've got a lot of really cool stuff there, and I highly recommend that you check some of that out.

    These videos have some of the most immaculate attention to detail. As you may have seen, there were times where guns would jam. This was fairly common in the war cause of all the mud and gunk just getting into the guns. Especially the French Chauchat, which has a magazine that is actually exposed to where you could see what was left in your magazine

  • @auxiliodei6811

    Fun Fact: Lego the company is strictly against having any Lego guns past the 19th Century (so revolvers and the like are okay)
    So there is actually a big market for Lego gun racketeering. Well it’s not really underground Lego knows about it and are cool with it but still very funny

    The significance of the trucks early in the video cannot be understated. The French at Verdun were re-supplied by a single road that became part of the identity of French resilience and was nicknamed in French "The Sacred Way". It was one of the few roads dedicated to vehicle traffic only and at the height of the battle, a truck passed every 14 seconds day and night.

    It's a excellent song which describes the mixed feeling many Germans have towards their country and goes through German history.
    Lots of symbolism that you'll love for example using "Germania" "giving birth" to Leonbergers a dog race believed extinct after WW2 symbolising the rebirth of Germany after the war.

    Descend into darkness
    303 days below the sun
    Fields of Verdun
    And the battle has begun
    Nowhere to run
    Father and son
    Fall one by one
    Under the gun
    Thy will be done
    And the judgement has begun
    Nowhere to run
    Father and son
    Fall one by one
    Fields of Verdun
