    Excellent demonstration! I've had this unit a couple years. Was a little intimidated by all the setting options, so had only dabbled a bit. Copied your settings (yes, it's subjective, but I too like deep bass and crisp details) and am REALLY impressed. I had not switched to GEQ at all, not really knowing the difference in leaving the default set, but being able to customize the EQ is a tremendous asset. I was already using the Sound Enhancer and Adaptive DRC... had also previously boosted the rear and center channel outputs, but bumping the fronts to full (with center and rears nearly full), along with the EQ and Tone adjustments (treble & bass up) really makes it SING! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for showing this! I consider the equalizer to be the most important feature in a receiver/amplifier! Hope they'll add more settings for under 63 Hz.

    I was very unhappy with the RX-V385BL enamic sound. Thanks to you instruction to active the " enhancer" and the " DCR", the RX-V385BL sounds so wonderful driving my Klipsch RP-600M. The difference is like day and night, indeed. Thank you for sharing.

      @@jmdds I don't know if anemic is the right word to describe it. It at times sounds lifeless and yet the bass is very boomy.

    UPDATED comment after a month... Gotta say I'm really enjoying this unit's output now (thank you!), and just wanted to share some further tweaks I made: Want to add a suggestion that fixed my chief complaint with this and other units, of not being able to clearly hear the spoken words... adjusting Dialogue Level up to the max +3 (Dialogue is seen under the Sound the menu in your video at 5:05) alleviates this, by boosting the dialogue track, especially when using a center speaker (coupled with your EQ settings for crisp treble, those soft spoken words are easy to understand). After copying your EQ and Sound level settings I made a couple of subjective adjustments with the four front/rear speakers at +10 and Center at 7.5 (it was overbearing when using the 5.1 audio presets when set any higher). I left the Subwoofer at center level as I prefer simply using the manual adjustment knob on the rear, and supplementing Bass with the Extra Bass toggle button on the remote (when needed). With that, I think I've found the near-perfect settings (for me) and couldn't have gotten there without your video, so thank you!! Also, am curious what you and others find as their "go-to" preset sound programs. After fussing with them endlessly I've come up with a few main favorites, depending on the "source audio" (e.g. some programming is only created in mono or two channel stereo, like my local newscasts, while others arrive in full full 5.1 surround). My fav, when the source audio provides true 5.1 audio (most newer movies, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc), is DSP Surround Program setting "MOVIE - Spectacle." For music my go-to is "Cellar Club" ... and if the source is not true 5.1 I'll switch the sound Program to "5 Channel Stereo" (if I had to pick ONLY ONE it would be this one, but I enjoy the true 5.1 modes when the source provides it). Another note, It's easy to assign presets for these on the remote by press/holding one of the four white buttons at the top of the remote. Again, many thanks!

      So sorry for the late response. Thank you for your "input", (audio pun LOL). Great info btw. Yeah, What you said made a lot of sense. I forgot to go over dialog leveling. I actually do not use a center channel speaker. I find that the main speakers do a fine job of phantom center. Center channel speakers are very easy to get wrong. It has to match your main speakers perfectly. But maybe I will one day get center speakers.

      You want to hook all your HDMI cables from your blu ray player, game system, fire stick etc to your receiver. And there is one HDMI port that is an out put port. Hook that one to the tv. Everytime you turn on one of your devices, the tv will diplay it.

    At least the Yam. menu looks of a decent graphic quality. Unlike Denon's menu which has the graphical quality of a device from the 80's. But Denon has a 9 bands equalizer while Yamaha has only 7. There is the downside of the Yamaha.

    • @SubUrbanNinja-EDC
      @SubUrbanNinja-EDC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a Denon before this Yamaha. I got the Denon because the guy at Best Buy told me Denon had more power and they made better receivers. He was technically right as the Denon had 10 more watts of power. 10 watts however is nowhere near enough to make any difference in power handling or sound delivery. Watts usually have to near double for anybody to even benefit from the difference. With the Denon, I used Bose speakers and with this Yamaha, I am using JBL. Maybe it has more to do with speakers than the receivers but this Yamaha setup I have here sounds way better. I truly believe Yamaha sound processing is better.

      Make sure all your speaker wire connections are properly and securely connected. If nothing is wrong with your speakers, go to tone controls and EQ to lower your treble settings. If problem persist, take the receiver back to where you bought it. If they do not exchange it, call Yamaha/warranty dept. Number should be on warranty card.
