    When it comes to sound sets from MTH, it doesn't matter if the model is Premier or Railking, the sound set is the same. This is something I really like about PS3 (and even PS2). Concerning your 3rd Rail issue, 3rd Rail always insulated their tender (both frame and shell) from the trucks so it is completely insulated from the track. You can take the antenna wire and soldier it to the shell and make the entire shell an antenna, that may be the answer if you haven't already tried it.

      Thank you! Yes, MTH gives you good sound whether it’s a Railking or Premier, was is so nice! I did get it fixed by routing up to the top of the tender shell with a longer wire for the antenna. Thank you for the suggestion though. 👍

    Mike,
    Beautiful Pennsy locomotives. I'm glad you have the complete Crusader now. (I'm jealous... lol... I will some day...)

    Great info Mike! I did not realize there was a prewar and postwar K4? I think the kline i picked up from you is the prewar version. I'm not sure. I will need to check it. It is a favorite. Lots of great input here. I am sure you will get it resolved.

      Thank you Joe, I appreciate it! I cannot remember if that was pre or post, I think one K-lines Prewar version had smoke lifters and I know the one you have has the extra paint detail on the tender but not sure if it was post or pre.

    Really nice engine Mike. This is one of the things I’m glad about being a conventional operator. Like the hobo boxcar.

      Thank you, I’m not going to invest in new electronics, when I disconnect my legacy system it runs great in conventional, I’m with there for sure Hunter. I enjoy running conventional also. If I can get the tmcc working correctly since it is equipped with it, that would be great though because I like the features they come with to work correctly. The Hobo box car is pretty fun. 🙂🚂

    if the antenna wire is soldered to the tender shell like a lot of 3rd rail steamers, then the shell ought to be insulated from the tender chassis. Use kapton tape and nylon screws to insulate the shell from the chassis. If that doesnt help then maybe replace the r2lc or just replace the TAS electronics. My 3rd rail M4 Colorado has this issue as well

      You gave him the same suggestion I was going to. I've seen this fix resolve the problem several times on the forums.
      Go luck Mike with these beautiful locomotives!

      I ended up moving the antenna wire towards the top of the tender and making a small winding of the end of the wire inside the control hatch on top of the tender. It’s running like a champ now with TMCC control and very responsive. Thank you! 👍

      @@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies Nice, that's a much easier fix than trying to isolate the tender shell. Maybe I'll try that on my M4a.
      Enjoy 👍

    Maybe you should call 3rd rail and tell them about the tender shell issue and see what they have to say about it. They may have seen this problem with other engines so they might just know what the problem is.

    Hi Motocraze40, I was just wondering, the Lionel trains you were selling a few months ago, can they be found on ebay? And how much are they going for?

    • @Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies
      @Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I sold about 90% of my original list all to people I knew from the hobby, this channel, or Facebook groups. I don’t sell on eBay at all, Thank you for asking. 👍

      @@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies I see. I recently acquired a heavyweight passenger Pullman coach that runs on 042 curves. The tightest curve I have is 027. I managed to get it to run on that tight curve. I made a video of it, but I haven't finished editing it yet.

    • @Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies
      @Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @user-ig6dm7cq1g that is a tight curve for sure, nice work getting the passenger car to work on it. I use 027 tracks sometimes on my Christmas layouts. Works well for tight areas 👍

    most likely a bad r2lc board. try swapping it out with one out of another locomotive.

    Hey Mike, have you looked at the optic on the tach for the cruise motor driver board under the engine shell? My Dad had one to close to the flywheel and was rubbing and acting strange.

      That’s a great tip Phil! I haven’t, and come to think of it my 3rd Rail Z6 Challenger I posted a video of running without the boiler on had a similar issue also. Good call! Thank you, I’ll check it out. The only difference is this one runs fine with no tender shell and that one didn’t. 👍

    High Iron was supposed to be a more affordable version. Norms trains has a series of vids on these models

      Thank you for the information, I was wondering what the difference was, because really detailed, brass, and run similar to my other third rails, and has a belt drive system. I’ll check out his videos, I thought I saw a weathered one on someone’s channel in the past. Maybe it was his. 👍

      @Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies No problem sir. I think he said it was an antenna issue? Anyway, the High Iron series is every bit as nice as the rest of 3rd rails' offerings.

    mike switch the shells on the tenders if possible and see if it works and the other does not. maybe it has lead paint shielding the ant.
