I like the size and huge selection and variety offered in 3 rail. I keep a healthy collection of HO and N for modeling, but for shear awesomeness of watching some big steam run, O Guage is my favorite, closely followed by G, just not enough stuff available in G. I could do without the 3rd rail for sure, but then I’d lose a lot of favorite locomotives. 👍

It’s debatable, the premiers are supposed to be scale but only about 19” long and Lionel’s are about 21” long. Either way look good. Depends on what you like.

@@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies ok I trust you on explaining the differences When I get to container cars I want them to kinda look same. I got Lionel 86’ up to 5 now all amazing prices , and MTH premier Tropicana I think they’re 60’ the white ones coming so a big large boxcar train. Containers are next as per my kids I let them help pick out what to run and get

Lionel and MTH are both good choices, they just look awkward if you mix them and not stick to one or the other.

There are just so many cool pieces out there, between enjoying collecting, history, and the toy and model train aspect, it was easy to go overboard. Now that we have been in O gauge for 7 years, we are finding our way to what we really like most and relinquishing some of the collecting aspect. It doesn’t take much to spend a lot of money in O this days. I can definitely appreciate the keep what’s running on the tracks approach. Thank you for checking out the channel. Mike

@@genemanno1533 you can either keep your money in the bank, where it does nothing for you, or invest in something you can enjoy and later get most if not all of your investment back. It’s a no-brained to me, especially with inflation rates like they are.

Thank you, the table is 21.5’ by 8’. 20” wall space along the back and one end, 30” along the front and other end. A little bit larger room. Are you thinking a traditional layout or perimeter layout.

Yeah, I regret it also. Should have kept the car or cars and bought less trains. Postwar are great for sure, I’ve scaled back on a lot of my collection, no post war though, I have kept all that I have and added some. 👍🙂

@N_scale hi, yes, purple and silver ABA, 6 chrome cars with black roofs and purple accents. I’m running the locomotive and non powered B and A right now. My cars are still new in box with the twisties on the trucks, I might have to change that tonight. 🙂

But that is a set I want some day for my one daughter cause it’s purple I found out yesterday I had a 100$ credit at caboose stop in Iowa We called Merlyn and Carol. Do you guys have Lionel 86’s? I have Visionline Class A 1211, a MTH Premier PS3 Y3 Specialty set with 5 hoppers and a caboose, and the TMCC, odyssey, Railsounds 5 611 J. I haven’t decided if I want to part with the Y3 or J yet.

Thank you! That is a great size for a layout you have there. My son Christian and I would love a large slot car room as well. We have so much slot car stuff both HO, and 1/32 that rarely gets used now. We are figuring out a fix for that for sure. 🙂

@@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies Yeah, that is my problem, also. When I had the pipe burst and flood the upstairs and the basement, I ended up moving a lot of stuff into the room, as the clean-up and remediation progressed. I've gotten most of the stuff out of there and back on the layout, so I'm ready to get the tracks set-up and running again. Keep the updates coming.

Oh I am stoked for this trains and slots idea My dad had a online business selling diecast and he had a bunch of 1:50 scale stuff like you have there. Mint stuff. And he didn’t sell it all. He’s pretty sick now he closed his business and me and my mom could check the storage unit for you , get you a list

Sorry to hear you were laid off, I hope you found something new. I used to have my layout in the garage as well and still make my Halloween Layouts there so the neighborhood can see while trick or treating. Holiday layouts are my favorite as well, especially Christmas!

Thank you! Yes, MTH gives you good sound whether it’s a Railking or Premier, was is so nice! I did get it fixed by routing up to the top of the tender shell with a longer wire for the antenna. Thank you for the suggestion though. 👍

Thank you, it is great looking and very detailed. I saw the price tag on the new one, it is pretty hefty, would be the most expensive locomotive I’ve ever purchased if I decided to order one. Whew!

I know you’re a big MTH fan Alex, I am as well, although at one time I liked Lionel and MTH about equally. I’ve stopped buying new Lionel and continue to buy brand new MTH releases, knock on wood, I have not had an issue with any of the 15 locomotives I’ve purchased since MTH has restructured. Lionel could learn something from them. Now, I haven’t had to deal with any warranty stuff which is my biggest complaint about Lionel aside from quality control that causes the majority of Lionels issues. Mth just has them built right the first time. I saw your post about the C&O F19, I almost ordered three different versions, I even sold my two with Odyssey and TMCC which had no issues, thinking I would order the new Legacy versions, but then I had my falling out with Lionel. I see Lionel hasn’t fixed the quality control issues still. Thanks for your comment Alex, you are right, you had the right to discuss it if it was discussed with you.

It has the fan driven constant smoke with not puff. It smokes ok, not as good as new locomotives with synchronized chuff and puff type features.

I’ve looked at them in N a couple times also. I’ve been waiting for one someone had already added DCC and sound to. They don’t come up for sale very often. 👍

@@Crazy4TrainsToysNHobbies they are plug in dcc ready. It’s a 8 pin I think. Same as con cor zephyr if I remember. They also need big tuneups I am told but can absolutely made bulletproof
