ive heard lots of really good food places closed down in Jiufen... went there myself with locals and couldnt find a good place haha- only the front large dessert store next to the stinky tofu place seemed good... but ofcourse nice atmosphere

Don’t worry,the lantern can fly only less then 10 minutes,can’t fly too far,the business man will hire staff to recycle it,then can make money again and again 😂

They land mostly in the surrounding mountains. Once while hiking in the area I almost had one land on me. It's a big litter problem. Solutions include making them out of more biodegradeable materials, limiting their releases, and paying people a per-lantern bounty to hike the mountain trails and collect them. Unfortunately, some of them land in really hard-to-reach places.
