For Canik pistols if you install a Freedomsmith trigger shoe it greatly reduces the pre travel/take up. Which is for me the only negative with Canik pistols
I have over 1500 rounds fired in my Canik MC9LS and haven’t had an issue. Fiocchi 115gr & 124gr, Winchester 115gr & 124gr, Blazer 115gr & 124gr. Not one issue
The echelon is too thick for me to comfortably conceal carry. I like the trigger on the Canik much better as well. Ended up taking an MC9 LS home with me over the Echelon.
The Canik is a slim Walther P99 copy or clone with a PPQ - PDP style trigger and the Walther P99 was a very good design and still not outdated it can compete with other newer striker fired 9mms 25+ years later
Dope comparison. I have both. The canik shoots alot better, trigger system is phenomenal. BUT - the echelon has the removable trigger module and ability to change frame sizes. If u have an echelon go grab an icarus precision aluminum grip module. Best setup ever
Great review brother! I was really noticing how high you could get on the bore axis with the Ech and the flat trigger combo plus the grip texture. Both look great and was surprised to see the snap and from the audio it also sounds like it has a bit of slap with the slide with the Ech. My favorite polymer of all time is the XDM 5.25 so this was definitely a must watch.
You can still use full-size Canik magazines in any of the mc9 platforms. My 18 and 20 round Canik magazines run in my OG mc9. I prefer the factory Canik mags from mecgar vs pro mag.
I've been in the industry for several years now. I was introduced to Canik when i first got into the industry. My opinion of them is the same as from my introduction. Canik is a great gun for the range and for competition shooting... I, personally, would never trust them as a self defense pistol. If I have a failure on the range, no big deal. If i have a failure in a self defense situation, i could die. I have personally seen/ helped multiple people send their Canik MC9's back because of failure, and had many others tell me they had feed issues with 115 gr ammo, with the other Canik pistols... Most of the time i would have them switch to hotter ammo, and the problem was solved. Canik's are designed for NATO rounds, which are typically 124 gr +P equivalent. They use heavier springs, so if you want one, use hotter ammo, at least thought the first 1000 ur so rounds to break the pistol in, or change to a lighter spring if you want to use 115 gr ammo. Just my opinion, but after more than 20 years as a shooter, many in law enforcement and in the industry... Pick one pistol. Master it. Don't try to learn every gun out there, unless you're selling them to earn a living.
SAME QUAL. AS U, HOWEVER HAVE 3 CANIK'S INC. THE ORGINAL MC9, HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH AMMO...........ALSO SIG'S, BERETTA, CZ'S, FN'S, RUGER 1911 AND WALTHER!, WILL BE PURCHASING THE LS VERSION.
The Canik looks slimmer l do not have any more Springfield Armory guns l do have a Canik MC9 l have absolutely no complaints as with the other subcompacts or micros l have Stoeger STR-9mc, , Kimber R7 Mako , SIG P365 , Canik MC9 no complaints and no problems so far
The risk of over insertion with the standard Echelon mags resulted in me kinda losing interest in the Echelon compact. As for the Canik, I just haven't really been sold on them. They shoot decently though, but I didn't feel compelled to run out and buy one.
@@Osprey1994 Yea when I heard about the mag thing with the echelon I was kinda like come on really lol but luckily the 4.0 comes with an 18 rd mag and honestly I might not even carry with 18. The MC9LS in my opinion is an extremely solid option and it won't break the bank.
Have had both. SA C has an overinsertion problem with the standard eshlon magazines. The canik has had tight magwell problems on early models and under sprung recoil springs that are supposed to be fixed. The SA has a weird hitch in the trigger due to the double sear. It's not talked about much, but it is a quirk in the design. It's enough that I got rid of it. The Canik is a better design for me. I am faster and more accurate at 7 to 10 yards than I am with the eshlon.
Honestly, I've shot them all except for the Rival S and I'd say the Rival SFX. The Mete series gets a lot right but shooting them all on the same day you find some of the features with subtle tweaks on the Rival. I personally own the TP9SFX, TP9SF, TP9SC, Rival SFX and the MC9.
@S.0.G the Echelon. About the same price point. But then again, I have the MC9 and MC9LS and I know they are great pistols. All I have is a gen 2 Glock 19, a FN 49 that was discontinued, and the two MC9. I guess compare it to a same price point pistol that's supposed to be good. I'm still learning the different pistols.
The Echelon is more aesthetically pleasing. The Canik looks good as well, but I just shoot Caniks pretty well, and it costs less. I'd go with Canik! Have you taken a look at the selection of holsters for Canik? Some manufacturers seem to be slow on having holsters available for Canik.
@@lumpvision5746 Yea exactly! Yup I actually carry my LS in a blacksmith tactical holster. They definitely don't promote Canik holsters as much as they should but there are a few companies out there offering holsters for Canik. Fastest ones to put them out have been muddy river tactical and blacksmith holsters 💯
@S.0.G The Armzmen makes great holsters for all the Canik models, and they use the real steel for fitting not molds. Top tier quality, but I could be bias😁
No doubt, both are extraordinary firearms. Going for one or the other would be a matter of personal preference. All the 'Extra Candy' that comes with the Canik is undeniably appealing..!! As for the iwb holster, I got a kydex with optics cutout for $25 on eBay, it's smaller that the one that comes in the box and it fits better depending depending on the occasion.
@@chad_8313 Canik is drop safe. I've got a few videos on that too actually. But hey that's the beauty of the firearm industry. Lots to choose from! lol

@MACKTRUCKHUGE did that for my MC9 and am thinking of buying another for the MC9LS.
I've done all kinds of upgrades to the 365 platform including barrel comps and ports and several of them and love them for reliability and shootabilty

Great video. Both good Pistols. I favor Canik. A more equal comparison size wise would be with the Canik Mete SF, its Glock 19 size.
