or, Capcom can just give us layered sets and weapons from the start. high ask? yes. would you want it? also yes. i don't want to be stuck with a horrible-looking armour/weapon. don't care if it's the best SnS in the game; if it looks awful, i'm not touching it (there's a erason why i refused to use Namielle's SnS until layered weapons finally came).
One of my biggest issues with world was the weapon design. Especially in the base game all the weapons in the same branch had a very similar design, other than in old MH games. I really think that they took the critisism to heart. All the Weapons and armours in the showcases look so unique and badass.

With the beaks on the mask and weapon it could also be a Vulture styled Monster which would fit pretty well into the Theme of the currently known zone. But i wouldnt mind a plague based Monster, imagine a From software styled grotesque swamp area.
Strength hammer was mostly the world moveset with the added wirebug moves. This looks to me more like taking the best of world and some of the good from Rise/Sunbreak.
They also didn't show off much new in the GS video, so I'm just hoping they decided to keep the Hammer and GS videos short and sweet without showing much off
Need the game/demo to confirm or deny, but I think the "counters" we've seen may be more of a "use this attack with a big wind-up on a wound/weakpoint (as we know that Chatacabra's tongue is from the focus mode video) to get a big flinch/knockdown" rather than a "take a stance before you do a move and if you get hit after/during the flash you automatically do the move". Again I could be wrong, but a lot of them seem to be readying their counter-attack, letting it go and getting hit WHILE USING the attack rather than initially getting hit in the wind-up pose causing the attack to be used.
I totally understand weapons not having silk bind attacks, but the glorious Water Strike is the single greatest thing ever added to the Hammer and I just cannot play without it anymore. I really hope it's an ability that at least unlockable like it was in Rise.
He is sitting in media blackout like with every monster hunter release. He gets to see the first trailer then nothing for the game until it is fully released. (Even the demo which has become tradition for him to do blindfolded)😂
I liked the clutch claw in IB, I just felt it was too OP while also being a necessity to hunt in late stage IB. I think if it wasnt so OP and built into late stage hunting and just been a fun tool, like the slinger, people would've loved it more.

Pretty sure if clutch claw comes back it will be for whatever the iceborne expansion is for Wilds. I’m hoping we get to see some of the new mantles and Palico abilities soon. I really hope they expanded on those features.
Coming at this from the angle of genuine curiosity. How does one compress the raw video that Capcom uploaded in 4K down to what looks like 480p and then back up to 1080p? I'm just gobsmacked on how that's possible

I don't think the Clutch Claw should return as it was. I did like the idea of it but the execution wasn't the best. It became a gameplay loop that wasn't really fun and more of a chore. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing something different done with it, like having some of the Wirebug Combos from Rise added on to it. There is a lot of potential with it so I can't wait to see what they do with it.
@@OmniGman Actually, that would be an interesting choice for the environment as there are a lot of carrion birds that live in these desert/savanna locations. I could totally see something like that being a thing.
@@gaara6292 I noticed that too, but keep in mind this is a demo/weapon showcase with no HUD. It's entirely possible that the weapon does/is intended to do poison, but that they haven't programmed that in yet, or intentionally obscured it to focus on demonstrating Wilds' Hammer's abilities.
am i the only one to see a jellyfish monster in the armor like with the thing around the neck who look like an inflatable vest, the female helmet who look like a jellyfish, the light blue tentacle patern all over the armor, the fact that they are urticant so poion would match i found a jellyfish with the same color scheme and the same "inflatable look" its called Physalia potential inspiration i dont know i might be overlooking into this
I’m glad they kept the dash while charging. It was one of my favorite movement tools in rise. The core of the weapon is mostly unchanged but it was always a reliable weapon but there are some nice touch ups like flinch resistance on big bang. I’m very curious to see where this armor/weapon comes from. The set is very plague doctor mixed with max scientist .
May I have the audience attention please does anyone else not notice the armor in the intro's they could be clues or hints to a future battle that waits in the future
That spin attack at the end was a frontier move. I've never been so happy. That was the goofiest/coolest move they gave Hammer in that game and I'm so glad to see it back
Monster Hunter videos should be Josh or Cotton. Hollow needs to join Pro & Noob sometime, or have his own series, even if it's a comedy thing like The Small Game Hunter. Until then, we should get the 2 that we actually watch play the game

Probably wrong about this but I this is likely Balahara's armor and weapon design. Just based on the female armor having the little dots that look like eyes on the helmet of the female outfit. It resembles Balahara's mouth clam eyes.

I've seen three videos now and everybody seems to miss the mid combo side step like the lances get in the opening gameplay footage.
The Hunter tanking the hit while dishing out the Big Bang combo is probably from the armor maybe having full Flinch Free.

The fact that you can reposition during the triple pound combo is an absolute godsend. This new Hammer is going to be so much more user friendly!
