MyGun4hire diff gears come into the equation. Not sure the Ute has the Sedans torque vectoring diff or if theres any difference in the two diff ratio's but one could have better acceleration compared to the other having better top speed. I know in the VZ ss models, the ute had a lower ratio and so accelerated slower but caught up with the sedan eventually.
+Swolenator G8 GT is more of the V8 Commodore SS which has a 6.0 V8 and 361hp. Both the Maloo GTS and the GTS Sedan has a supercharged LSA(ZL1/CTS-V) engine which produces around 577hp. The G8 GXP would be almost the same as an E1 Clubsport R8.

I hate to sound ignorant but why do we in the US never see get these kind of cars? El Camino, Rancharos stopped in the 80's but they never had this tech and power. Why oh why, surrounded by Prius and Honda's here!
It cost alot of money to send them over from Aus and to be honest they arnt much different to alot of cars you have there for much cheaper. They are already 65k + here so you can imagine how much more they would be with all the costs of import ontop.

The ute is just a bit quicker because of its body type. The sedan body will get more air pressure compared to the ute, this is call 'aerial impact'.

If you own a g8 in USA , buy a supercharger . Get a mechanic to install in USA you should be on par with gts perfornance

+Moira Martin Some v8s do and some aren't. But in this case they are built for low end being that they are push rod.
maloo wins for being a ute, but loses for the horrible grass hopper green paint yuck.
