I used wd40, and moved all shifters and steering to make sure its all lubed. Let it sit a night, then wipe all oil , dirt, rust, corrosion and apply cable grease. Then move wheel again left and right and r and f shifters. Now everything is cleaned and lubed. Very easy

I wonder how well it would work if you filled the hose with your marine grease then use higher pressure... if it were to work then you've got a good coating of grease in there instead of oil. Ill give it a try on my 07 AR210 if the weather ever breaks 🙄

Just opened the boat up for another season and the steering is still free!! Not sure how far grease will make it up the cable but give it a try.

I am having the same issue with my 2020 ar190 with 55hrs on it. I’m going to try doing this, this weekend.

Did it work on your Ar190? I have the same issue on my sx190. Debating on just replacing the cable

Does anyone sell the two rubber seals on the cable without having to buy the whole cable assembly?

Dumb question but do you do this on both sides of you have two jets?

Aloha. Did you make it through the rest of the season with this fix? I'm going to help a friend with a 212 Limited S with a steering problem and was considering replacing the whole unit unless the "fix" has worked. As you worked the wheel back and forth did it become better and better beyond the video 75? Were you able to turn to steering lock both left and right?
    Thanks.

It did make it through the season and got to the point I forgot there was ever a problem. I did follow the suggestion of another and used a sealant on the boot. Hopefully open of next season it will still be smooth.

Which sealant did you use for boot?

I have the same problem, what kind of oil/grease did you use?

It was synthetic motor oil. I think it is also important, as someone else suggested, to use a sealant on the boot coming out of the transum.
