It always saddens me when diversity isn't accepted in the "alternative" scene or whatever you want to call it. A band can grow. A band can change. If they didn't, they'd be stuck in the same spot with no creativity, and y'all would be complaining about that. Personally, I like it. I like seeing a band do different things. I like seeing a band adapt after losing a member. Sometimes I may prefer an old style over a new, but I can at least appreciate what they're doing.
I think some people need to remember that a band can, and is very entitled to make changes, subtle or big. And if you don't like it, there's no reason to be negative about it. Just move on from it instead of bitching about things you can't control.

indeed. very well spoken. it's keeping good music alive. as we all see in 2020. this is more accepted now and bands such as i see stars helped and struggled for that to happen. i still love this album. it's aged well even
It depends on the band's reasoning with, let's say, changing their style to something softer.
There is a difference between growth and a, "We are gonna go light to grow the fan base:" (A cash grab)
Growth would be something like, Amity Affliction and/or The Devil Wears Prada(who always experiments with different sounds anyhow), as to where bands like I See Stars and Issues dropped down into a more pop sound, which seems more like the latter of the reasons I gave, being: "We are gonna go light to grow the fanbase."
That is why I can justify people being mad at bands like Issues and/or I See Stars.
It doesn't seem like growth, it seems like a cheap attempt at appealing to the mainstream masses.

Zach has left the band before. He'll be back in a couple months. Until then we can enjoy Devin attempting to sounds exactly like him

I'm not opposed to AutoTune in electronicore at all. But Devin can definitely hit the high notes without help, and I agree, his voice has a nice quality to it that shouldn't be artificially enhanced too much.

You hear it live you would disagree. I saw them at warped with just Devin who was ATTEMPTING to do Filth Friends Unite (one of their best songs ever) and he just couldnt keep up at all and it sounded like complete utter trash. My ears started to bleed and I had to move on to a different band.

Personally, I like the new bmth better than old. I've been listening to them since their first ep and I feel like there is more heart and production put into the newer songs. Kinda like Chelsea grin. Bands tend to stray from the path every now and again and try new things. Let's not bash the new ISS till the full album is released. I hated some of the bands I listen to because of the first single they put out but end up liking it later on.

I do all types of screams from frys to false chord to gutturals and tunnel throat vocals and can still flawlessly keep my 3.5 octave clean range intact untouched. (I've done vocals 9 years though as opposed to his not even a year of learning basic screaming)

This would be really good if it weren't for Devin's mediocre screaming. Zach was one of the best and unique screamers out there and he really complimented every ISS track. I would have understood if he chose to leave for other stuff, but the fact you guys asked him to leave is baffling to me. You're not as good as you think you are, Devin. The2at that is an absolute lie. i've seen them live over 8 times from 2009-2014 and he has always been spot on, usually more spot on than Devin in some cases. everyone judges him based on the Jimmy Kimmel performance when he was sick, which is not fair at all or an indication of his talent. Devin can't scream live or in studio, which is unacceptable imo by ISS standards.

I recently got my girlfriend into I See Stars with Phases and when this came out i had her listen to Filth Friends Unite and the this track and even she was excited with how close Devin got to Zach's vocals.. She says she likes Devins uncleans more but personally i think she is just still in awe of how nice Devin sounded on Phases haha :p

this song is a turning point for ISS. it gives an emotional tone with a vibrant and fulfilling vocal chorus. I believe that ISS is working on growing as musicians; if that growth means they are writing more singing over screams, then as a fan i support you Devin. Your cleans are like an angel and a human decided to have sex on a harp; its amazing. If anything i want more of high ranged singing from Devin.

I don't know why so many of you are hating on this song. If you are a true fan of ISS like i am, then you would like it either way. I honestly love this song and am excited for the new album. Also, for all of you who say this doesn't sound like them or the last album are crazy. this is a straight mix of Digital Renegade and New Demons. Devin's screams actually sound really good for someone who usually just sings. All of you seriously need to get off your high horse. One criticism i have is that the production quality could be better, but who knows, they will probably remaster it. Been a fan since day one and that won't change.

This song hits hard. I have been unable to really pay attention to the band until these three singles that they have released. They are written well, the production is awesome, and its heavy and melodic as shit.

I was hoping for something with a sound more like New Demons. (I loved that album to no end) but this is still good. Don't see myself enjoying it quite as much as I did New Demons, though.
