I used to listen to this so much when it first came out then forgot about it for years- For years I couldn’t remember what it was called but could like hum it in my head; it wasnt until just now when a streamer on twitch played it that i could find it again!! THE SEARCH HAS FINALLY ENDED
Omg same 😂 I've been trying to figure out what this song is for weeks! Couldn't remember the name of the band or the song haha. I finally looked up "warped tour 2014" and saw BREATHE CAROLINA AND THEN IT JUST CLICKED
Danny's vocals in this song are insane, and David is a good singer, can't wait for the new album!! I mostly listen to metal but Breathe Carolina is my guilty pleasure, can't wait!!
I'm not a fan of Breathe Carolina, nor do I like the music as a whole very much. But man, this song has an extremely important message that the kids of this generation need to grasp. Bands change over time, they mature and so does the music. If a band continues to write/produce the same album year after year, you better believe I won't listen to them. It's about the journey and the progression of the musicianship. Also, the chord progression at the end makes the song/message that much more powerful. Thumb this up so people can see this and maybe one day understand the hardships of being a musician. Like he said, "It's not all gold and glory."
I feel bad for bands like this. They make new content and try and grow as artists and their own fans hate them for it and the new fans are trashed by the hipster fans who think they know the "real" band. It's like, dude, if you "knew" them they'd tell you their new material is better and you people clinging to the past to need to stfu. That's what Breathe Carolina did on this record and this song in particular. I remember clearly when their 2nd album came out everyone was like "Where is the screaming? Omg what the fuck is this garbage?" but it was their biggest album and it gave them a breakout tour and got them mainstream success. So what would you do if you were the band? Go back to your old style that is dated at that point and piss off the now millions of fans that you just gained with your newer style? I love this song in particular "You're fascenated with the old me. I bet you hate it when we don't scream, You're stuck in the past and I'm not looking back." Pretty much right off the bat telling people to fuck off and stop telling them to go back to the "Hello, fascenation" sound. Bands like 311 evolved over time. But it was gradual and I remember Nick Hexum straight up saying in Enlarged To Show Detail 2 "If you don't like the new material then I thank you for your dedication and your criticism but we are on a journey as a band and as a family and if you don't want to come along for that ride then I guess you had your limits on how much you were wiling to tolerate while we fine tune our new songs. We're not 19 anymore, we are not in the same place in our 30s so we can't keep making the same album over and over."
A fan is someone who follows a musician or musical group because they love the direction they're headed in at the current time, they follow because they dig the sound that the musician or musical group is producing. Think of why people fell in love with Breathe Carolina since their first album, or Asking Alexandria since their early days. Think about that before you get totally mad at a fan who disagrees with their style of current.
To the people commenting "I miss the old ddanny." "I like the old breathe Carolina songs." Blah blah. This Song is aimed towards you, if it isn't obvious enough. It's about how people who care only about only appearance and not about the music.
How does someone saying "I like the old Brathe Carolina songs" show that they only care about appearance? If anything I would assume they care more about the music.
your a fucking idiot, Danny's new sound was a forced change due to him being a total mess and ruining his voice almost permanently. Liking a bands older material has nothing to with the clothes they wear, its about personal musical preference......
5 years later this is still one of my favorite songs in the genre. god DAMN this song slapp. I'm so glad danny did this song. that bridge/last chorus is insane.
saw screams and cleans and it reminded me of how much I missed Howard Jones. Still one of the best vocalist I've seen live, And I have traveled to metal tours and events my whole life. I will be excited to finally see The Unguided for Roland's farewell tour in Sweden in a few months - one of the better clean vocalist in the metal scene retiring the mic soon :/
Sean Thompson I dont think he is back w AA but correct me if I'm wrong, cause he made that group what it is. this song was a bite back to his old group after they booted his ass out
Coming back to this all these years later it’s kind of funny how this whole song is ironically written like their earlier stuff that all the “haters” actually like. Which to a lot of people this is one of their best songs.
I'm a huge Asking Alexandria fan, here and they're really the only post-hardcore/metalcore band i listen to as i'm more of a Deathcore guy myself. And i really like what this song stands for. Two bands who are widely known, slightly over-rated actually, but have gotten so far WITHOUT selling their fucking souls, collaborating. I've NEVER been a Breathe Carolina fan. I've never liked them, but I've never judged them because they always just did their own thing, without selling themselves out. Anyway, long story short. I like this song. Danny did great, and so did the guys from Breathe Carolina who's names i don't know. A +.
I have no comment on the song aside from the fact I like it, but your screen name is awesome... Sorry, I just had to say something. I'll crawl back in my shell now...
I love this song. It's like a huge middle finger to those who left during the "Blackout" era because they got popular and "became huge sellouts". Love them now, loved them then, loved them since I can remember, and will always love them.
I love all of their stuff, but this song and "savages" seems to stand out more. I can't wait to hear more! They are so unique in the scene. Very glad they are making music.
Screeching Melody Asking Alexandria changed my life, I don't give a shit what happens to them, they could be known as "The Sellouts" I'd still love them
PLEASE tell me the rest of the album has the heavy side. It all went downhill last time after "Wooly," which is literally the only song I still listen to from that album
Going through and listening to their other songs and how different they all are from this and how far they veered off to experiment and getting a worship singer in it to sing like that just makes this song an absolute masterpiece
This is INSANELY good. Between this and Savages, this album seems like it's going to be that awesome mix of electronic pop and punk rock that Breathe Carolina does so well.
I have to say, this is probably one of their best songs. They need to make more songs like this. I love their music but this song was nothing but awesome.
I've never heard of this band/song till now (2022) when it randomly came on a playlist. I was expecting more songs from them like this - I feel bamboozled 😂
Danny is kind of awkward in this video, but I love his screams. He's still got it. Also, good to see a heavier breathe carolina track. I love this song!
"It looks like they were FORCED to reach into a dark thrift store closet and wear the first 5 items they picked out." -Dan Cummins , Comedian That being said, this song kicks ass. Just discovered this band.
I remember when this came out and Breathe Carolina and Asking Alexandria where my 2 favorite bands, so hyped to see these two collab. this song went so hard and still does after almost a decade
"I See Stars" is that band with the electronic synth leads, down tuned palm muted guitar breakdowns, screaming/clean singers who trade off, double bass kick drums, clean chorus vocals, soft pop electronica interludes, use autotune on choruses, and feature Danny Worsnop on their songs right? I didn't mean to confuse the two... What was I possibly thinking. This is totally different
He's walking with a purpose I learned this in Musical Theatre the way he's walking he wants people to pay attention that's what walking with a purpose it I think
I think this was really brave of him and as a musician, what better way to express your experiences and emotions through your music? He's obviously felt pretty let down in the past and that can be understood.

I've loved breathe Carolina for years and I'm actually really impressed with their new music. They changed, but they changed for the better. I have a lot more respect for them since they came out with this song. :-)
I am not a huge fan of the electronic post-hardcore genre but this is genuinely one of the most beautiful songs from this era. Not only musically is it well done, but the lyrics tell such a great story. The band is looked at as Sellouts for wanting to explore new ways of making music. (Danny Worsnop is the perfect person to feature on this song) Yet they continue for themselves and for the ones who are still clapping. "I know it's real cause you're just like us" I love this because they're saying yeah we are being judged all the time but I'm sure you are too. So let's give no fucks and be ourselves.
skyRazak i agree, that album has a HUGE amount of electronica. BUT it also has more guitar, screaming vocals and 'post hardcore' aspects to it, it has similar traits to a lot of bands music nowa days but thats another issue, the main thing is Breathe carolina are electronic and asking are literally one of the best examples for hardcore. they are different
Am I the only one who wishes Breathe Carolina still made songs with vocals? I didn't mind the shift away from screaming because I really liked the new sound too but now they do mostly just beats and no vocals. And they're good at that too but I loved this album and wish they'd put more albums out like this.
It's also awesome cause it's such a giant middle finger to the "fans" who constantly bitch about how they hate how BC has changed their sound. The lyrics are so obviously telling those people to STFU. "You're fascinated with the old me, and I bet you hate it when we don't scream" - not subtle at all.
8 years later and this is still my all time favorite breathe Carolina song. I could listen to this on repeat for hours

Peyton Weir Or SWS's new album in general, with the acception of a couple of tracks.

danny worsnop announced as the new lead vocalist of slipknot 2014.
it was a joke as he sounds like corey. don't be so serious
Nate Vickers sorry but he really sounds nothing like corey
Ben heckman in the begining of the song he does a lil bit
Ben heckman In the beginning he sounds like a really young Corey from the first slipknot albums:)
It's the process of coreytaylorfication.

"You're stuck on the fence, I'm over it." While David is singing on a fence. Haha!! No but really, I'm loving the song. Love Danny's vocals in it!
Only just found this now, but the contrast of both vocals is awesome. And all the other instruments hit so well, just really enjoyable.
Danny looks like he's the dad of some kids who are about to shop at hot topic
so true 😂😂😂😂😂
so true hahahaha
he does

i cant unsee it
I wish Breath Carolina would continue with this style. I like what they do but this song is soo good.

I love old BC just as much as new BC :)
Danny needs to sing more. He's amazing at screaming but i love it when he sings
He is in another band, which he sings in. Lol
hes only good in the studio, hes shit live which is proof his voice his over produced
SaintsofLA
I saw Asking Alexandria at Soundwave recently and he can sing good live, obviously not studio quality but he can still sing.
i came back to this song in 2020 and i definitely do not regret it

I play this fucking song just because of Danny's screams and cleans.
If you think he's good, you should look at Upon A Burning Body. Probably the best screams and cleans in the industry.
Yes, they are really awesome, but their latest album seems a little odd.

Danny's growls and screams in this were so sick!!!
I love the lyrics in this song. It shows the band's frustration with their "fans" reaction to them changing their style. Its real emotion. I love it.
It applies to both also. Danny tore his vocal chords, resulting him to change his style a bit and people got funny about it.
I actually quite like their new style, I don't see why everyone freaks out about something you can't change

Dannys look when from a scene kid to a alcoholic
he was actly an alcoholic when he was scene and changed when he went through rehab
He looks good either way though bc he's Danny
Pulsar Cosmos fuckin got em coach
I think it's just the wardrobe...Idk about the whole hoodie without a shirt underneath and half unzipped..
I didn't realise there was an "alcoholic look".
Awesome!! Danny kills it! Love this song
Aahhhh Danny still fucking got it! Those high screams are incredible!
he is so incrediable and the beats in this song are so good
This is Wizards of the Coast Anthem to all Magic Players for 2020 and forward. A bitter pill for us all to swallow.
Danny makes this so much better!
David acting "hard" is the cutest
Danny makes this song worth listening
It’s 2020 and I just heard this for the first time and I’m addicted, this is badass

1:02 - the way everyone's doing some cool walk, and Danny's just like '>:I'
x'D
its suppose to be the difference between the 2 genres i think, could be wrong but ive never seen AA and BC in the same genre lol.
AndyAtrocity dude stand up and scream has so much electronica on it lol
skyRazak i agree, that album has a HUGE amount of electronica. BUT it also has more guitar, screaming vocals and 'post hardcore' aspects to it, it has similar traits to a lot of bands music nowa days but thats another issue, the main thing is Breathe carolina are electronic and asking are literally one of the best examples for hardcore. they are different
Danny is so awesome !
I love this
gaius wilson ikr ! Asking alexandria is comin to malaysia, and dat is ma place bruh !! frickin awesome !!
raimi razakson Wow thats great! I wish they'd come here lol
Danny's screams still get me going all these years later
man I haven't heard BC in ages but this song is awesome tho...and Danny's face at 4:12 made me laugh my ass off hahaha
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thats what my face would look like if I got kicked in the crotch
Am I the only one who wishes Breathe Carolina still made songs with vocals? I didn't mind the shift away from screaming because I really liked the new sound too but now they do mostly just beats and no vocals. And they're good at that too but I loved this album and wish they'd put more albums out like this.
This is so cool 😍 it combines post hardcore/metal with electronic effects that's the best of both worlds 😁👌
look up I See Stars... thats the best of metalcore and electronic
Danny worsnop = perfect he screams we and everything!!!
Well***
issabella rose more like amazing ahhh!!
Oh hell yes, Breathe Carolina is back!
dannys clean voice is just amazing
He's progressed so much and his voice gets so much better each time
Danny is a monster. One of the best vocalists in metal.
Breathe Carolina and Danny Worsnop are awesome together, Such an awesome song :)
