how did charging work for you, I see it's a 65w charging, I have a 16"Mac Pro, the wall charger comes with it has 95w, some how worried about 65w charging ability. Thanks
Make sure the current the LG is sending to your macbook is enough. I have a LG UltraFine 5K Display connected to my new macbook pro 16 and after a while started experiencing lags. Found out the current sent from the monitor wasn't enough and had to use the charger, otherwise the insufficient power was borrowing from the batteries.
Great point! The USB-C power supply on my monitor, and the one linked in my post are rated at 60W PD (Power Delivery) which should be enough for my 13" MacBook Pro I used in the video but might not be enough for a larger one. I'm not sure which model of monitor you have. Does your monitor have the Thunderbolt 3? That would be the port to use if you do, it should have 94W PD. But then would you need a cable that supports that? Unfortunately, that is above my knowledge of electronics.
Hey when I connect my MacBook it’s displaying like super zoomed out on the monitor? How I do adjust it to display normally? I’m using the hdmi cable that came with the monitor it didn’t come with a usbc
@@laurencec09 Did you check the box to Mirror Displays under Arrangement in settings? I show this at 1:55 in the video. At 1:38 I open the settings to get to that part. After you click to mirror you should be able to change the Display resolution if you need make changes. I hope that fixes it for you. Let me know if it doesn’t and I will try to find another solution.
@@LittleGraySquirrel Ok so I tried this, I mean it kinda worked but only if it wasn't optimised for the ultrawide, image just looks veryyy widescreen now but usable
Little Gray Squirrel I have the exact same monitor connected to my 2019 macbook pro. I have mine hooked up by the USB-C cable but it does not utilize the whole screen -what i mean is it leaves an annoying 1-2 inch border on the left and right side of the screen. Curious if you're dealing with the same issue or if you have a solution for this. Thanks in adv 🙌
I do have a very important doubt ,why your text on the lg monitor (exact same one I have and 2018 MacBook Pro space gray as well)appears more sharp and mine looks some what blurred ? I use usb c to usb c cable !
THNAK YOU FOR THIS. YOU JUST HELPED ME BUY THIS MONITOR.
do you know if there's any way to still get a full screen on the laptop and not have it cut off at the top and bottom? thx

Hi! The fan on my macbook spins up immediately when i plug in the monitor. Is this normal or should I have another cable?

I think they have the same issue. You can just see a small gap on either side of the monitor (larger than the monitor frame).
Once you close your Mac it will use the whole screen

@p1 p2p3p4 how did it go ? I haven't bought the monitor or MacBook yet but I'm planning to soon. I want to make sure I'm making the right decisions.
Is this the same process with a Mac ? Thanks for the UK :)
For mirroring a MacBook Pro to a Mac monitor? It should be the same process. I’m sorry I don’t have a definitive answer for you.
Does this also work with usb-c to USB 3.0? My LG monitor only has DP, HDMI, 2 USB 3.0
I’m not sure. I’m sorry.
So I just set it up, but the image doesn’t look that clear is that normal?
Double check your screen resolution. It should be clear.
Can you plug your keyboard and mouse into the monitor so that the laptop will only have one connection to the monitor i.e. the usb-c?
Yes. i plugged my mouse and keyboard on the usb on the back of the monitor and they work just fine
Just what I needed thank you!
Can someone please help me mine says no signal on my monitor when I try to connect it with my MacBook Pro m1
I connected to my MBP M1 via the USB-C and works like a charm. just plugin
