I suggest you get a Thunderbolt to Displayport cable, so that you can get full resolution with 60hz. Using HDMI cables with ultrawide monitors will only give you 50hz in full resolution (If you haven't ugraded already)
How did you change the screen resolution to 21:9 instead of 16:9? I have huge black bars either side of my screen and can’t figure out how to fix it :( I’m using a 2015 MacBook Pro 15”
I’m still using the 2015 MacBook Pro. Having an SD card slot and MagSafe are features I don’t want to let go. I bought a used eGPU from Sonnet and use it to create ProRes proxies when editing 4K.
Sky Makai I’m also not the biggest fan of the new usb c MacBooks. They’re future proof. But we’re not yet in the future. Those used GPU’s is something to take a look at for me too! Thanks for the tip.
What do you use for the windows management ? I want to get an UltraWide monitor instead of dual monitors, but I'm a little put off by the windows managment aspects...
When I connect my macbook pro to this monitor via HDMI I get full resolution but only 50hz. So I use a thunderbolt 2 to Display port cable and Voila! I get 60hz 3440 x 1440.
Dude, that was such a good video and your set up rocks!!
Thanks a ton! Hope it was good inspiration for "budget friendly" setups.
@@ShootThatVideo for sure!!
This looks very realistic and nice! I appreciate. Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you! Cheers!

@@ShootThatVideo You're welcome :) and Yeah 60hz does make a difference.

What do you mean? It’s a desk setup video. Would you like to see a premiere workspace video?
