All I can think about when you pull it tight is when Uncle Rico hands the NuPont Fiber Woven Bowl to the guy and asks if he can "give it a nice tear."

Great lashing instruction. Thanks for showing this. It really helps me out as I start lashing my boat.

Tandy Leather stores sell flat (artificial) sinew (waxed) for about $20 you get ~400 yards.

Thanks for sharing this additional source! I think you can also get it on amazon now as well.

For sure, there are tons of SOF building supplies on Amazon, including the artificial (nylon) sinew. However, if you are an "Elite" www.tandyleather.com customer, you can get it for less at Tandy.
May I add it is also worth while stopping in at a Tandy Leather store (there are more coming every day as they expand), because of the leather goods and fasteners which are also good for a SOF build (i.e. leather straps and cordage, metal as well as plastic fasteners). Besides, if you choice to go completely authentic, it is a good place to find the right skin for your build.
My current build is mainly supplied by Home Depot and Amazon. I have no affiliation with Tandy Leather. I only know it as a good alternative to the BIG STORES.
