This one is taking more time because I’m screwing around with keeping things similar to the plastic boat but yes, they are fast builds in general. We don’t waste much time with finesse though. Everything gets buried under the skin.
Butterfly lashings also called H-X (H to X) lashing, and Y lashings are V-Y. Initial letter is the initial shape, and last letter final shape after frapping and locking turns. Just additional trivia, but the mnemonic may be helpful.
Thank you for the new video Mark. The models look fantastic. Have you ever made them up for use as an RC pond model? Keep up the vlogs, they make for a nice afternoon viewing. Take care and have a productive week.
Never got into the RC model scene but there is an active club of bearded old farts around here that mostly build models of fish boats, tug boats, barges and ferries. The odd submarine makes an appearance. They more often than not hang out not with boat builders but with the bearded old fart engineers and boiler makers who build 1/4 scale locomotives.
How did miss your vlog for a whole day l’m prescribed and belled up. Surely the gunwales can’t be the backbone that don’t make sense🤔🤣 Only joshing with you, great work as usual 👍 Those dowel jigs come in metric and imperial neat. Glad l don’t need to freak out 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
@@Nomadboatbuilding Nah Marky boy trying to watch the F1 missed the start twice. Yes that's a good one 🤯🤯🤯 Chuck made some good films especially with Edward G 😉 kind of a documentary with a secret.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I learn things I never even knew I needed to know on every one of your builds.
Thanks for the information and entertainment.
My pleasure.
Mark, you need to write a book. You've probably forgotten more than any of us collectively know. Love it!
If I could only remember what I forgot I would have something to write about.
I'm amazed by how fast these boats go together. Looking forward to learning more about how it's done.

Thanks. I’ll add that to the glossary.
Love it!. Keeping it real, slightly disorganized is excellent for these. Learn lots, enjoy it all. Thanks
Slightly disorganized? Damn. Felt entirely disorganized in the moment. I’ll do better at conveying the full depth of the shitshow next time.
That was a very interesting walkthrough and the models really helped in explaining it - thanks
great looking models look forward to the video, like to see you making the model

@@Nomadboatbuilding That sounds like an interesting group to watch. Old boys with new toys. Have a good evening.

I expect you must have been pissing away the day watching old Chuck Heston Movies. Omega Man is a favourite of mine BTW.

beautiful work!!
I'm sending you something (a tool), Mark. Should be with you in a week or two, I guess. You'll not have seen anything like it before.
That’s super generous Mike. Thank you very much.
What material are you using for the lashing? Catgut? Thanks. 🇨🇦
Nylon Synthetic sinew. So hard to find a good cat processing plant these days.
Oh im going to freak out. You cant stop me
Slow deep breaths. Take yourself to a safe place. You will get through this.
The pro tip....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've seen vloggers watch themselves in the screen through the entire vlog. Thanks for not doing that!
I do my level best not to but sometimes it can be really difficult.
