Bro. Finally the video that explains exactly what I was looking for in an easy to understand format. Thank u. You got a sub in me!
I appreciate it! Happy to help!
Thanks Riley. I've been fighting this thing for 3 days trying to figure out why mine looks so different. Turns out, it was in PAL mode, not NTSC. For those who are unfamiliar, the options are very limited in PAL.
An excellent video - well done for making this!
Thank you for this tutorial. Straight to the point
Hello can you help me please. I have the Fx30 and the Atomos ninja but I don’t know which cable I should buy in order to use it correctly.
Thank you
Wow thanks this is just what I needed! Just got this amazing camera 🔥🔥🔥

Happy to help! Thanks!
Greatest explanation step by step very clear thank you
Great Video. Can you share what song this is and where to find it? Thank you!
Hi, do you know why i can't access my RAW Output settings to set in ON when i linked my ninja V ? When i click on it it says "this function is currently disabled". When i unplug HDMI i can access this function to set it ON but as soon as i plug HDMI it turn automaticaly OFF.
What about the crop? When I set up my FX30 to my Ninja V+ (24 fps, 4K, ProRes RAW), the screen on the Ninja seems very wide. But if I click on those frame keys (or whatever they're called), say to 16:9, it totally chops off the left and right sides on the Ninja. Is that now showing a true image of what I'm filming? That reduced 16:9? Or am I filming much more info and I need to chop it down to whatever resolution I need in post?
There is a crop and unfortunately there isn’t a way to avoid it with raw. We’re capped at 4.7k when the sensor is ~6k
Thanks, Riley, I don't mind the crop. I realized that the small flip out screen on the camera seemed to capture a lower resolution when I switched to RAW, as if the screen shrunk in a bit. As long as I'm not unknowingly clipping frames, I'm fine. I had worried about that, I guess Sony thought enough to build in the crop view into the screen. First shoot went better than I had thought.@@RileyEndicott
awesome! Thanks! I'm about to buy the fx30 and considering getting the atomos. I'm coming from a6600's and I have an atomos shogun flame but I suppose I'd need the atomos 5 or higher to get the raw you're talking about, right?
also, how big are these raw files going to be?
thanks so much, when shooting in RAW should i overexpose +1-1.7?? or is this even correct or just a myth? im a beginner just asking in general, A rough guideline would help me if you say that you are closer to 0 or overexposed
As long as you don’t under expose and need to lift shadows in post I think you’ll be fine. Do some tests and see what works best for you though. You may want to shoot +.5 over just to be safe but I don’t think it’s a requirement.
Good video. Thnx
How do you do the noise reduction yourself?
Thanks for the great video
Neat video is a great plugin. Works on most NLE’s. It’s what I use.
@@RileyEndicott thanks Riley 🙏🏼
Thank you very much
Of course!
Can you please help me with setting my fx30 to record on Ninja v plus I get video but not audio
Thx
Subbed! Thank you 🎥
why is it whenever i check my footage on laptop and editing program its rec 709, even i always make sure it was set on slog3 on camera and the atomos? thanks :)
also how did you set to 24p prores raw , i have the ninja v plus on the lates firmware version 10.93
Great, what model of monitor is it?
I'm using the Ninja V but it's older and is limited to 30p. I believe The Ninja V+ does 60p.
Спасибо бро!
I'm honestly buying the FX30 because of the auto foucs. I have the FS5 abd that camera with atomos you can even get 4K DCI at 100 / 120p in 4 sec burst, way better than this even though is most modern than the FS5.
The auto focus is great on the fx30! I have used an fs5 with an Atomos a lot as well and I think I prefer the fx30’s image. Which do you like more?
Is any crop wen recording in raw ?
@@RileyEndicottYes- you are recording a 4.7K non-downsampled portion of the sensor. Non-RAW recording is using the full 6K sensor down-sampled. Sony could open up full 6K sensor recording- but they probably won’t because that would compete to much against their higher end cameras! I am sure the Sony FX30 can support a 6K RAW pipeline since it is unprocessed…
I am confused- I thought 'RAW' is a pure pixel readout from the sensor with NO in-camera processing- downsampling from 6K to 4.7K def involves down-sampling - ho scan that still be considered 'RAW'?@@RileyEndicott
I went back and checked. There is a slight crop
@@GlobalShutterNY I went back and double checked. There is a small crop. It is not down sampled. It is a 1:1 pixel read out with a crop.
Global shutter on the Komodo🫠
Lol what do you want to know about the global shutter? I’ve got more Komodo content coming soon.
@@RileyEndicott i just wanna witness it from my phone screen🫠it's great isn't it?
@@SuperFilmregisseur My previous Komodo videos all have B-Roll shot with the komodo. You can see it there! :)
@@RileyEndicott still a video about it would be great. Highlighting really shaky cam and how much cooler it looks cinematically
