- In this episode we rebuild a Ford 2.7 Liter TDV6 Diesel engine of a Land Rover Discovery 3 TDV6 - complete from tow-truck to restart, including removal, disassembly, line boring, assembly and install - all in a 30 minute video.

Thanks for condensing Fabian’s engine rebuild series into one very enjoyable package Muths! And I want to pay extra tribute to Herr Muth Snr who obviously inspired Christian’s interest in engineering and his never say die attitude to problem solving, and to son Robin, who is not only a chip off these older blocks, but obviously on his way to being a stand alone talent in his chosen field of blacksmithing. And Vera - proud mother and the perfect foil for Christian’s teasing banter, and possessed of the most incredible technical memory of any TH-camr! Cheers again guys.

Also, thank you for inspiring me to start working on my car. Managed to change the starter motor, rear shocks and also did an oil change all by myself, without braking anything (yet).
You had to brake the car so it wouldn’t roll away.

Most impressive ingenuity Christian.
If I may make one suggestion, it is to wash the engine block crank-case and cylinders with hot soapy water after degreasing it. This ensures that any grit from honing and machining, is washed out of the macroscopic voids in the cast surfaces. I washed my block twice on my Rover V8, along with a vigorous hosing.
The bores start to rust as soon as they are dried, but a quick squirt of WD40 soon stops that and surface rust wipes off with an oily rag.

Christian's knowledge about EVERYTHING on LR is amazing! Great channel, probably the most underrated channel about Land Rover. Vera, when possible, talk to the people in the begining and at the end, to like, consider subscribe and do a comment related, about the video, ideas etc... This helps a lot in engagement. I didnt reveived anymore yours notes, even with the "bell" activated. TH-cam changed very much in the last 6 months. Cheers! And like before even, seeing the video. Salute, to you and Christian.

Front of crank damage isn’t a big deal Christian to over come this - use a speedy sleeve (design for the aircraft industry) which I am very happy too take from😂, also very good at over coming shaft burn from seals.
