How to Solo Fatalis with Charge Blade - Openings, Moveset, Builds, etc | MHW Iceborne

- The Charge Blade matchup is quite a difficult one, and the "speedrun" strat is to focus the chest entirely, dealing with blue flame final phase x_x
I get faster times using that method (my best is ~13:00 at the moment), but it's not as viable for casual play in my opinion, so I've modified the strategy slightly to make the fight a little easier at the cost of speed.

Spreadsheet info:
I have a spreadsheet which collects all sorts of data on Monster Hunter World Iceborne that people ask about a lot - things like the materials needed to upgrade the best charms (e.g. handicraft, expert etc), a list of all the guiding land monster drops and gathering nodes (plus it's searchable), what materials you need for every possible augment (attack, affinity, defence, health, slot, element/status) in the game, etc:

It also includes things like a list of ALL the 4 slot decorations (including even the rare 12 ones which ONLY drop from sealed feystones) so you know the best deco's to aim for when farming. It even has detailed images for the guiding land gathering nodes (the one's that drop materials like the guiding dragonbones/crystals etc) which you need for custom weapon upgrades/augments!
My list of guiding land drops can be sorted either by drop type (so it finds the monster to fight for a particular part) or you can use it to just find the parts belonging to any monster (no more pulling your hair out over how to get those Enchanting Finehide/Trancehide for your health augments!). This goes up to and includes the tempered elders (speaking of which, check out my 5 slot tempered investigation farming macro if you haven't already!)
It also has a Safi'Jiiva relic checklist to easily monitor which awakened weapons you're missing from the new siege!

Loved the video I’m a CB main so to me the time was really good but I’m not a speed runner or a pro at savage axe. Also I tend to run artillery for SAD spam in multiplayer quests

my first fatty kill was a couple weeks ago with alatreon CB and safi armor lol. took me a little bit. never played multiplayer. i had some struggle with the horns
Talinthis used alatreon switch axe with part breaker do a zero sa discharge to the head i kill him solo in get evil eye

this was a good run. based on how ive seen others play while playing.
I've noticed that his Arena Fire Spread Attack is the only attack thats worth SAEDing but you need ideal positioning and you need to hit the head (and you aren't running Artillery with Savage Axe either). Trying to SAED the Fire Cone can ONLY happen if you start the SAED before he starts breathing fire (and the way you did it there using Savage Axe is likely to end up with you doing more damage anyway.) You can avoid getting hit by the mine he leaves behind by SAEDing from the middle of his neck.
Fun fact running evade window 5+ evade extender 3 allows you to basically fully dodge into the other side of the map undamaged by his nova(first wave of it ofc second wave or third wave is insta kill no matter what I’m pretty sure I haven’t tested that out but I’ve pretty much dodged the entirety of the first wave till I reach the gate or save area xD lol you may take like 10-25 dmg and that’s it, it’s kinda funny)
You proc'd Coalesence but you didn't have one. But it was probably muscle memory based on your other builds. Thanks for the build still.. might try and bring up Guard Up again and be more tanky in P3 instead of wasting time getting hit and healing.
Dont bother blocking fatty. If you block his triple fireball thats a cart.

I was running SAED against Fatty. Thought I was just being bad...it was really difficult.
its a really tough playstyle against fatty
I feel like switch axe and charge blade are definetly the hardest weapons to use against fatty.
Switch axe is super easy actually, ZSD spamming with health regen is the way to go
@@neelav2394 only problem is when Fatty yeets you off and combos into triple fireball.
Switch is probly the easiest wepon to use

@@ConsOA sorry about that, I had commented before I saw all your skills. When you were dodging through the stuff you had said "that's evade extender" so I got the wrong impression lol
@@havelthejock3761 ah sorry i probably misspoke, or maybe was referring to how the extra distance from extend can let you roll away in time to dodge something. the distance can help with getting through fatty's knees when it snap-drags
Why is alatreon harder than fatalis...
Fatalis ->Once you know the move set and know how to use things like binder, rballista etc..... it is easy also because timer is 30 minutes. you have full 30 mins.
Alatreon - Basically better elemental gear to make the fight easier. 1)If Your Gear is average. then the timer is a real problem you have to get a topple and horn break in 5 to 7 minutes. 2 what type of weapon you are using and what moveset you are using determines the topple. ex Longsword helmbreaker does less elemental damage compared to normal combos.
With your average gear you are forced to use more combos (on arm and not the head) to get a topple than normal playstyle (reach red guage and helmbreaker).
In short Fatalis easy once you know all tricks about the fight
Alateron Need good elemental gear or good rng where it stays in ground longer since timer is the only real problem.
Not even close. I beat Alatreon after about a week. Im getting ready to lose my mind once and for all with this bastard on the other hand.

He has a Defense Increase Augment on the weapon he is using.
I still have 0 clue how to use the charge blade and to buff the shield and sword

Yeaaaaaahh, i won't be doing a CB run. I've worked myself into a happy little rut with crit draw GS for fatty and have no intention of coming out of it.

The build and deco isn't even applicable for someone trying first time Solo Clear Fatalis. Pointless. Only useful for positioning and overall tactics. There are a shitton of videos on that.

How come you can bring x20 set material of max potion but I can bring only x5 set?

im using ancient potions. they're harder to farm the materials for, but you can bring more of those materials into a hunt
dont worry though, you can just take max potions and farcaster/restock when/if you run out
