Holy fuck shit. I didn't realize there was a phase 4/5. The first time I fought him, it was just my wife and I. We ended up losing due to the time limit. We got past the part where you pull the level to raise the metal door, and fought him for several minutes after that (until time ran out)..... At no point was there any on screen prompt to use the dragonator. I figured the dragonator was NOT suppose to end the fight.... but I thought after he melted the big metal door, that all you had to do was kill him off regular style. Since we ran out of time and never got the prompt to use the dragonator.... I thought maybe it would be available after reaching a certain threshold. After 1 attempt with my wife.... we started trying it with randoms (we done around 20 fights) and NOT ONE TIME have we made it past the metal door part with randoms. To just now learn there is still so much more after that is very disheartening. Knowing how much more there is after that.... I don't think I even want to play the game anymore :/ tbh. Oh well...It's the last major update anyway, so i know I'm missing anything else in the future at least lol.
Put a mantle, clutch few times, do some damage, mantle wears off, get killed by him looking at you, respawn, go back, get killed by him looking at you. Repeat.
@@redbruhcolli The best Thing is, when he is glowing and spits 100% Kill fireballs directly into your way. I the fuck don't know, how to safely survive these, without evasive mantle. Shot a dragonpod, wait bitch, take my Fireball of insanity.
Even when playing with friends, I was the guy that died 5 times. Mainly to bad RNG. Fatty would run across the map and naturally I give chase. He then looks back and tail whacks me... 1-shot.
I already got my shaver jewel on my set, because it is just great and i recommend it for all players who use the faster weapons for an instant tenderize
You forgot to mention one important thing in this video: Fatalis CANNOT be stunned in this game! The "ka-ching" stunning sound that usually comes with striking the head with your hammer doesn't even play. Hammer users and people using sticky ammo should swap out the slugger in their build for a more useful skill, like more raw damage or divine blessing secret. Like/Pin this so Hammer mains can see it!
@@theninja2k14 It definitely is, as is Hammer, in fact slotting in full partbreak is amazing for both weapon choices. They help you get him on the ground, too
DevilGamingPanda the problem your going to face, is that fatalis head is way to narrow so you have to watch out for attacks and on top of that have a small target that moves way to much. It's almost impossible to focus solely on the head with stickys.
Bruh I tried soloing alatreon because ransoms suck ass sometimes and o just rage quit I tried today and I actually killed him with 3 random people one of them fainted two times but we did it
My favorite part about this fight is the fact that they give you 30 minutes and then have the wing drake take its sweet time, I know it's not much but it's rather stressful when I'm running back to the fight with under 10 minutes left
Arrekz: "It doesn't require any crazy, perfect meta builds. All you need is flawless coordination with 3 other players who know exactly what they're doing." Yeah. Sounds easy.
I honestly thought he'd be a bit bigger. Saw him finally, thought, 'well that won't be any trouble.' 19 tries later I am watching this video still not having beating him.
U know it's tough when u're actually considering hunting alatreons to destress Edit: finally beat him! Using the scraps i picked up from all the failed attempts, together with the fata cortexes from plunderblading, i made a mixed set with the fata arms and waist and alatreon armor. Protection 5 and satiated 3 makes the fight a whole lot easier. Make the fata weapon with the first 2 evil eyes u get and ure on ur way in no time!!
Funny thing is, I was doing that long before Fatalis came out. Alatreon is easy I f you have a fundamental understanding of it and World general attack patterns. Almost every attack Alatreon has is borrowed or mirrored from another monster, so of you can handle elder dragons well Alatreon is painfully easy.
Sadly im probably missing something. I sti havent beaten the fully powered alatreon due to the elemental dps check, whereas i managed to beat fatalis once (8 failed tries) with randoms on day 1 running TWO sns healers. Fatalis can be brute forced with enough heals and survivability... Alatreon can... Not.
Just a random tip from your friendly gunner. If you are caught in the cone of fire and a weapon with a shield is blocking the flames, it will create a cone of safety behind the shield. Very situational event but it has saved my friends multiple times since I shoot near the head and can sometimes block nearly 80% of the fire cone with my diner plate on a gun. As long as you have guard up (you can now get the guard up jewel from the melder) and guard lvl 5, you will survive with only losing about 20%-30% of your health. (Fun fact, you can sing the can-can song while blocking in the flames and the pings from your shield are perfectly in time)
@Shvabicu cortex is really easy to get, sometimes is on the floor after shitarang and sometimes is in the rewards, you can farm only 4 so the best thing is use ghillie mantle, farm and get back to camp. Use the tool secret so it recharge quickly and get back to farm more and then return from quest don't stay the 30 min (if you don't get tired of the loading screen or don't have the specialized tool secret you can do it once and return). I got an eye in my fourth attempt but then I try like fifteen more and no more eyes :( . and 3 times I didn't get anything at all. So good luck with the farming I manage to do four pieces this way.
When fatalis does his cone breath (not the super move, the weaker one) there are rock outcrops to hide behind if yo dont think you can dodge out of the way in time. The outcrops only protect you from the cone. Other moves will be unaffected by the rocks. Hope this little extra tip helps!
I believe you can keep yourself protected from fireballs if you stand a fair distance away from the pillar. Hug the pillar while a fireball comes to you, you'll be knocked out by the blast radius.
I believe you can keep yourself protected from fireballs if you stand a fair distance away from the pillar. Hug the pillar while a fireball comes to you, you'll be knocked out by the blast radius.
Small tidbit I’ve found out with my group, if you get caught with your pants down in that cones range, BUT you use GS or maybe SnS (not sure about it I use GS) you can block through the entirety of the flames
@Love Yourself Late but whatever, Y’know Fatalis stands up like that as a way to mock humans. So basically if you are getting fucked up like that then Fatalis is enjoying that shit so much,
For anyone who struggling with him, I will share my strategy with you guys. I prefer to hunt Fatalis solo, for my experience you have better chance unless you have your team and everyone knows what to do. First the equipment, I use Alatreon armor set mixed between alpha and beta plus Alatreon weapon (mine is DB). Since I am a low MR hunter(~160), I don’t have much decorations to play with. The Alatreon set lets you boost elemental defense and at the same time raise that elemental damage output. Escadora Might alpha has a build-in dragon resistance 3, this will increase you dragon element. Below are my skills Attack Boost 7 Critical Eye 7 Dragon Attack 4 + 2 from Temporal Mantle Resentment 4 Defense boost 3 Health boost 3 Fire resistance 3 Dragon resistance 3 Part Breaker 3 (a must have to break horns) Weakness exploit 2 Coalescence 2 Fortify 1 Heavy Artillery 2 (Charm) Attack increase 1 + Elemental Up 2 for weapon augment. The fight start with putting bombs on the floor between Fatalis and left canon then load both canons while wearing the Ghillie mantle. Once both canons are fired he will be knocked down so damage his head as much as possible. Once he get back up, flinch shot him immediately. So at this stage, you will damage him 4,500 from canon + 450 damage from mega barrel bombs + 1,320 damage from flinch shot + your weapon roughly for me around 2,000. Total is around 8,200 and that is more than 10% of its hp! My advice is safety first. You can safe time by not being carted. If carted, be sure to change equipment, refill items and eat if needed. Use shield as your palico equipment to distract Fatalis. Learn his move and know when to attack his head. This is important because not only it will make the hunt easier but also you could get Fatalis evil eye from break the head twice. Make use of available weapon around the arena. The damage from normal ballista might not be that good but if you hit him enough time you can make it knock down just like 7 canon balls and dragonators. Save 2nd roaming ballista for the very last phase. I notice that the Fatalis will gone nuts when his hp drops below 10%. This make the fight harder and you will be carted easier. Roaming ballista with heavy artillery 2 skill does significant damage (7-8,000 in final phase assuming you broke his chest already). What I do is I fight him normally and after he use 4th nova, I fight him a little further. Untill I have 5 minutes left, I use dragonators first to make him knock down for free attack. If you do it right he will perform the last nova. After that, use the gattling gun to kill the beast. I also switch between rock steady mantle and ghillie mantle. I also use ghille mantle in the last phase while he is rampaging near the third canon. I could catch my breath and deals 2,000 damage at the same time. Keep going at him and you will kill him eventually. One mistake and you be carted away. Still, I enjoy the fight. Good luck out there hunters!
"one mistake and you be carted away" is something that sadly keeps me from truly enjoying the fight. It's some cheap design filled with artificial difficulty, sad because it could have been a superb battle tbh. Thanks for the tips
@@vhals2052 Look at it this way: Not everyone just wants to be your casual player, some also want a little bit of a challenge. Fatalis as well as some other fights is where they can get it.
@@dasMoschustier I fought it with health boost 3 and I gotta say it was an interesting fight (30 minutes was very annoying tho. 35-40 would have been great. But I gotta say beating it at 28 was extremely satisfying. I had to play aggressively to kill it in time so that kinda added spiciness to the fight ngl). If it did like 90% of the damage it could have been better imo. I still enjoyed it, but I still think it's a bit unfair considering every other monster was quite easier and I could face them with the same build (with fatalis I had to change quite a few things). Between casual and challenger there are many steps tho, and I understand the need for some challenge don't get me wrong. But one thing is a well crafted, difficult but fair boss and another is a giant plesioth with special water oneshotting endgame gear players with a lot of hp and less time to fight it (I am not completely referring to fatalis here, just an example). But this thing of the challenge always kinda pisses me off because I feel like it's not a smart point. Because there is not a cap to the challenge, if someone wants a harder boss it's okay, they can make it more difficult by themselves. But if someone just wants to enjoy the game and are not minmaxers, meta slave tryharders (not necessarily said with a negative accent, sometimes they are crazy in a good way. Sometimes they are just boring) they should get a chance to. For some people even a super unfair version (especially on the artificial difficulty side) would be welcome and it's just kinda foolish sometimes. Let me ask you this: If you are a "casual" can you make the game significantly easier (with your playstyle) without cheats and glitches so that you can surpass these obstacles? Of course not everyone should be able to pass fatalis without sweat, just some micro nerfs for example would be welcome. Meanwhile if you want a challenge why can't you just lower your equipment, atk, defense and decos; play with a hand tied behind your back, a closed eye and a different weapon? The problem with people that want challenges is that they may put pressure on the devs for future games, making them inaccessible for "everyone" (especially soulslikes games). While they could just make their own challenge in a thousand different ways without anyone having to change something
I love how you guy just worked out a plan for this fight for a 4 party team so show that it not hard if you guys works things out together. But that like the only downfall is that most people who play MHW:I (especially on PC) don't really communicate with each other all that much so people just run around like chickens with their heads cut off. And it dont help that I dont have many MH friends to play with 😭
Yeah I got lucky enuff to get a team that at least sum what talked to each other after many runs got the kill.... now I just need a few more to get the eyes... so cheese will be viable xD
It gets better after you clear the special assignment. The people doing the event quest know what to do and when you do clear it the first time, so will you. Good luck hunter, fight hard and stay smart!
Yeah I got one friend who plays mhw, but he’s pissed off at the solo fatalis part and gave up after like 3 attempts. I’ve been trying to convince him to get a good setup for fighting him (I’ll help farm whatever gear he needs) because duo with him sounds way better than randoms. So far 1 kill in probably about 15 hours.
lol yeah it feels pretty brutal at first. Good news is that once you get the hang of it, his second phase is actually not very different from the first, he just adds a double flamethrower that's very telegraphed and easy to abuse and the 360 no scope flamethrower that can be superman dive'd easily, other than that he's basically the same, just more punishing. So once you do manage to get the hang of the first phase, you'll be able to get a handle on his super mode pretty quickly.
Ryaquaza 1 yep, playing with randoms is so rough. Also the fact that it’s another mr24 minimum quest so everyone and their mom can play it. I think it should be mr100 minimum honestly.
another tips i found when facing fatalis is, when he do his "Annoying Cone Attack" that Burn Everything infront of him, A hunter using all kinda Shield who had Guard Up Skill, Can Make Safe Room for another Hunter behind him when the shield user do the guard thing. its just cool mechanic , its like make u the strongest tank i guest for the shield user of course .
I’d recommend having a farcaster on standby (radial menu) and use it as soon as you see him preparing his cone attack, if you’re full health you should have a second or two to fire farcaster and get the heck out of there 👍
I beat him solo not too long before this vid came out :v My tip is actually to practice it solo. That way if you play in multiplayer you're less likely to be the cause of your team's demise.
@@abyssalrayz9499 if you hold the sprint button (Right Bumper of Xbox, R1 on PS4, don't know what it is for pc) and spam the roll button, you shouldn't roll, I had that problem back in base game just using the right stick click down and then waiting for the hunter to start sprinting before the game let's you superman dive
@@Sweet7Montana nope because you need to break horns, you can get enough parts to make the layered armor and trick players into THINKING you beat it, but don't do that, you're saying you're better then you are when people are hoping for others who beat it
@@Leostar-Regalius Don't worry I don't like to be fake, was wondering if I could have made weapons,, but that is not the case xD So only break both horns and then I can make it least something? Or do I actually have to slay him to unlock the set at the smithy?
Tip regarding his grounded conal fire breath: If you're near one of the broken pillars, it'll block it. Those pillars can block fireballs, but don't rely on it. And they don't block his sweeping breath attack. Also during his final phase, his fireballs can leave a patch of fire. It can be sneaky cuz it looks similar to the aesthetic fires around the place, so for a long time I didn't realize why I was in red hp when I was waiting for fatalis to get near the dragonator. He's also immune to stuns but is at least open to the suggestion of other ailments. 1 star only, so you'll get 1 proc of paralysis and sleep, maybe 2 if multiple players are doing it. I would also like to add that the event version has only 3 carts as opposed to the introductory quest's 5.
@@kush7138 You only cart because you're screwing up. Enjoying a challenge isn't masochism, it's the difference between those that strive to better themselves and for excellence and those that don't. This fight is the best in the entire game.
@Chiafade now Yeah, it's a video game. A lot of people enjoy challenges from their video games, hell the original monster hunter was the major inspiration for Demon's Souls. Monster Hunter is built off of the same challenge = accomplishment mentality. If you want an easy hunt, there's always low rank Jagras for ya. This is the end all be all Hyper Boss of the game that puts super bosses to shame. If you just want to get it over with, than monster hunter may just not be for you. That's not a bad thing mind you, as we all have different tastes, but monster hunter is meant to be challenging and hard as bloody nails. It's what brings the vets back, it's what makes the game so satisfying for the core audience. Because while some people may enjoy an easy breeze through games, others don't, we want a challenge because that's what we live off of, that's what engages us, gets the blood pumping like only a good day at the gym does for me. Forces you to focus. Plenty of other games are easy and meant to be casually played for a more casual audience, and while MHW catered more to that audience more than previous ones in Low Rank, they dropped the kid gloves in high rank and this is called Master Rank, and the end of master rank at that.
The move Fatalis uses at 6:34 is in my opinion his most dangerous move that isn't one of his nukes. He can use it in any phase, any time he wants, and even with twenty to thirty fire resistance can kill you nearly instantly. Plus, he shoots the fire right at his feet, a position your whole team is likely to be near when he's on his hind legs, and since it has a very quick startup, you can be punished for attacking for mere frames too long, especially if you're using a weapon with slow animations like greatsword or lance.
i know this is 2 years old but holy fucking christ on a stick the amount of times ive seen it coming, gone to roll away, only to get stuck somehow on the last two pixels of his fUCKING TOES insect glaive op for this fight
The moment me and my team killed him and the CLASSIC ending hunt theme plays from 1st and 2nd generation along with the CLASSIC proof of hero just brought me to tears what an amazing send off this was. Long live Monster Hunter!
join a discord, weissgaming or something. Also, filter your server search for fatalis. You'll find that there are more folk who have a better idea of what do to.
Managed to kill him once when i was disconnected from my team. But man if the quest timer is the normal 50 minutes time, i can kill him solo multiple time since the timer runs out when i try to solo him
Tip for the roaming ballista: Pop a smokebomb on it before using. In a solo hunt, if done right, this move will confuse Fatalis and he will first of all land, then just stand there locked in derpmode while you pepper him with the ballista. Make sure you move to the left to position yourself behind the rock though, cuz there is a high chance that he will use his firecone move once the smoke clears. The rock will shield you from the flame while you unload the rest of the ballista rounds. That rock is a godsend if it looks like he is gonna breathe a fire cone and you can't make it to his face to wail on him. Another tip that this vid didn't mention, and this is most likely one of the contributing factors to why some people are timing out: Fatalis needs to be softened up before you go ham. Specifically, he only requires you to tenderize his frontlegs. This will tenderize BOTH sides of his upperbody, including his frontlegs. His head is alot a good spot to tenderize, but it already takes almost fulldmg so not really as crucial. The hindlegs are not worth hitting (both sides need to be individually tenderized). Best of luck my fellow hunters! Show Fatty who's fatter! (spoilers, Thor in Endgame is fatter)
I'm loving this, he's so difficult and I love it. Only beaten him once so far but you know it's farming time because that amour set and weapons are too damn good to miss out on. HAPPY HUNTING EVERYONE
I used your SnS set that you showed (but with Charge Blade) and finally managed to get past the Solo Phase! And huge thanks for pointing out the Dragon Pod flinch, that helped out a lot, too!
Respect to anyone trying to solo him I myself am close to beating him solo Edit: I finnaly killed him. I never struggled with the time but with surviving. Great fight all in all
I think its a good fight. But my one issue with it is that bite attack. Sometimes he’ll bite thin air and ur touching the tip of his wing and all ur health is gone. Who designed that hitbox its so random.
Small tip: you should keep your eyes on his hind legs when he is standing, that and his screeches can give you some hints on what his next attack move is
Finally killed him solo after 14 tries, just before you posted video. Everyone tired and giving up, u can do it! He is the end game monster after all! It must be challenging
By the way, for GS users, you can block his normal cone breath with your guard. It depletes your stamina, health and sharpness quite a bit though and seeing the animation, you probably can protect any teammates behind you because you can see that the flames deviate on the sides of your weapon. Good luck everyone, I'm off to get him solo.
@@crowbarfish0812 Heavy Artillery +4, wound his head, bind him, Roaming Ballista the fuck out of his head. Guaranteed horn break during second or beginning of third phase
@@moonum4567 @Moon Boy pretty sure heavy artillery only goes to level 2. Regular artillery goes to level 5 but only affects charge blade phials, gunlance shells, and sticky shot.
Watch how other people do it, there are few tricks to maximise your damage, some related to your build and some to the environmental weapons (like equipping Heavy Artillery and sleeping Fatalis before using the Dragonator)
Fatalis Cone of Fire 10:16 can be blocked if you get trapped in the middle if you have a shield (I only seen Lance and I personally use Sword and Shield to block it) I'm not sure if any other weapon can block it so you'll have to test it but I know first hand it works, only issue is that this is the only fire attack you can block :'(.
FYI, Gunlance and Lance users with guard up can actual block his three prong cone of fire attack AND they act as a shield for others users. So your team can hide behind you while you’re blocking
great job man , i use to follow you from the Time you posted destiny stuff , just happened to see you post stuff of monster hunter rise the other day and went back into your timeline only to find out that you got a massive MHW playlist.... I really can’t do this with ransoms..they quit after 1 cart and don’t have fire resistance or max pots..Might have to solo...and there’s a lot of stuff to do solo in under 30 min...welp
10:15 you can actually block the cone fire attack, with every shield available, even with heavy bowgun, you just need guard 5 and guard up, and with the bowgun i would suggest max shields, it takes arround 5%-10% of your life, but thats allot better than dying i guess.
@@The_Kinetex_87 ohh yeah, i totally forgot to mention that, thank you., also i just tried it out, you can block it with sns with just guard up, so no need for guard 5
- The stationary wide flamethrower can be blocked by Guard Up and create a safe zone at the back of the blocker. - When he starts the sweeping flamethrower, clutch his neck/head. Sometimes it will save you quicker from being caught in fire and also a great time to clutch attack his face. - If you cant dodge the tail slam/swipe, block it. For something that does a lot of damage, its guard knockback is weak. - If you're running solo or duo, reserve your temporal for using the roaming ballista, you'll be like Rambo... but shining.
I fucking hate the time limit on this fight. It's soul crushing losing with proof of a hero playing with zero carts just cause I missed a wall slam somewhere or he refused to come near the dragonator. The fight itself is really fun, but it's super frustrating losing to an arbitrary timer.
I never knew any strategy so I would just unga bunga damage him to see how far I would get since I was doing it solo. Would get him to Phase 3 and he would get off that third Nova of his. Always failed to break his horn though to stop that enhanced fire. Knowing these little tidbits tho, makes me wonder if I could pull it off. Gonna be fun to try.
A straight Slinger Burst from any weapon also counts as two pods fired, which can greatly extend the amount of Dragon Pods you can effectively hold. However, the burst lays a ‘mine’ on the ground that’ll explode two seconds later, so it isn’t the fastest way of flinching him. Firing two straight pods into him is marginally faster. I ran a Wide-Range SnS build and basically made it my goal to keep him permanently locked down with flinches post-Dragonator.
Alternatively, just grab a blast SA throw on lifesteal augment, run 2 set gold rath, 3 set luna, and just claw his head over and over whenever your mantle is off CD.
That's what I told a friend yesterday. When he does his "ultra flame breath" you're supposed to run towards him, not away from him. That's basically how you handle Dark Souls dragons as well.
I came close to beating it twice. I've basically took up the role of SnS Cleric in a way. Rocking the Kulve Taroth MR beta armor set with the maxed out free-meal, some wide-range and medicine jewels. SoI basically ran around healing the heavy hitters and occasionally tenderized Fatalis's limbs to make it take more damage from them.
This is such a good fight in the new world! So glad they put in a challenging fight, made challenging not just artificially but naturally. So happy with how Fatalis turned out :D
Single best piece of advice is the dragon pod thing. My team and I were constantly wiping because we were focusing on our own dps and weren't flinching Fatalis whenever a teammate was in danger. So he took us down one by one and we run out of chances to continue. Now we make sure to collect dragon pod like they're precious treasures, and we use them to 1) keep him in place long enough for the ballista guy to pelt him with bombs 2) save teammates who are in danger and 3) stop some of his most devastating attacks. Towards the end of the fight, when he really goes crazy, we were constantly flinch him with the pods to keep each other alive. This helped us clear the special assignment, and also the event quest multiple times.
1.Use gilli mantle for the canons. 2. Use the new skill for your slinger that tenderizes and drops slinger dragon ammo. 3. Go for the head and always flinch it, once you run put the grab onto it and use your weapon to tenderize it. 4. Rinse and repeat. 5. Be careful of しんざこs, they're very reckless
This is super handy thanks. I have to say your sword and shield damage in this video is crazy. Never seen such a high consistency of numbers with sns xd
got one tip: First, let one teammate go get the cannon first, load all of them and then give them a signal to come down. Second, once they almost there shoot the cannon, Fatalis should be rushing toward the cannon. (First cannon: Left, 1) (Second Cannon: Left, 3) (Required Heavy artillery's) thirds, after it start to rise it should be facing the cannon, which is now useless, you can yeet him into the cannon.
A few tips I've learned throughout my many, many runs... 1) First and foremost, DO NOT fight Fatalis with 3 people. Fatalis has the same amount of health for both 3 and 4 players (171,600). By using 3 people, you're missing out on the benefits Palicos could provide you with with 2 people, or all of the extra damage and utility (firing cannons, using dragon pods, dusting you, etc.) that a 4th person provides. It's better to SOS for a 4th random if you only have 2 other friends to help you. 2) Breaking the head at least once is basically MANDATORY. If you do not break the head before or in the early stages of phase 3, your run is as good as dead since almost every single fire attack will one-shot you regardless of your defense, fire resistance, and sometimes even through divine blessing. Therefore, your entire game plan should focus around get as many knockdowns as possible so you can break the head quickly. 3) Once you get that first head-break, you can ease off using artillery weapons if you want to. Going for knowdowns to get the second head-break is obviously great, but no longer essential. 4) If there are only 2 people and you have Palicos, here's how to spec them out: Give them the Alatreon armor. It will give them the best combination of defense and fire resistance. While you may not think that's important, you want your Palico to survive as long as possible since they can't use their weapons or gadgets while they're downed. As for their weapons, give them the Kitty-of-the-Valley Rod. It is the highest Paralysis damage weapon available, and you want to be paralyzing Fatalis as often as possible. It will cause Fatalis to lower his head to the ground for 13 seconds. Finally, for their gadgets, I'd personally recommend the Vigorwasp for the free revive, though you could alternatively use the shield to draw away aggro or the horn for buffs. 5) Whether you have 2 or 4 people, communicate as much as possible about everything you do. This fight requires more coordination between players than any other in the game to be successful. Yell out when you need dust. Yell out when you're firing the cannon. Yell out when you're going for flinch shots. Yell out when and what you're tenderizing. Even yell out some of its attacks in case your teammates are hyper focused on something else and might not be paying attention. 6) The skills you bring are up to you, but I would strongly encourage you consider bringing Partbreaker to break the head quicker, Fire Resistance because duh, and Fortify if you plan on dying (which you probably will). 7) Bring ingredients to make mega potions, dust, and max potions with you so you can craft them on the fly and be more liberal with their use. 8) Farcasters are your best friends in this fight. ALWAYS have one with you so you can return to camp to stock up on healing items, change your build if necessary, or eat. If you think you have the time to spare, don't be afraid to return to camp to do any of these things. Be sure to always get another one when you return to camp with the first. 9) Make sure one person in your group eats for Safeguard either before, or at some point during the fight to gain an extra faint. Even if you think you're close to the end of the fight and no one has died, DO IT. It's entirely possibly for the momentum to shift and for your group to go from no faints to all fainting within the span of a few minutes. Obviously, if you can also eat for Insurance, do that too. 10) I strongly recommend eating for Moxie if your build allows for it, especially during phase 3 where even Fatalis' weakened fire attacks from the head break can do insane amounts of damage. On top of that, if your Moxie gets used, go back to camp as soon as you can eat again for Moxie. This fight lasts 30 minutes, so you'll be able to eat up to two more times. 11) Here's a similar but alternative starting method to the one shown in this video that I like more to dish out an insane amount of damage to the head early on: Make a hyper damage build designed to dish out as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time. Throw all defensive and utility skills out in favor of pure damage skills and Partbreaker. Don't worry, you'll be changing it quickly. It's just for the start, and you shouldn't be taking any damage. Also add Clutch Claw Boost if you're not using a heavy weapon and aren't going to be the cannon user. As for the weapons, use whatever you'd like, but if you're flexible, I'd recommend weapons like Dual Blades, Greatsword, and Hammer that can dish out insane burst damage and that don't require any charging of meters, phials, etc. to get going. On this build, equip the Ghille Mantle and the Rocksteady Mantle, with one person having Heavy Artillery. When you load in, have everyone put on their Ghille Mantles before you fly down. Once there, have everyone load the cannons to speed up the process, then 3 of you go get the Stone for slinger ammo and stand in front of Fatalis while the 1 with Heavy Artillery stays with the cannons. For those 3 standing in front of Fatalis, you want on be laid out such that 2 of you can grapple to opposite sides of the head, with the 3rd slightly farther away. Have the cannon user angle one of the cannons towards Fatalis. When everyone is in position, have the cannon user count down. When they reach the end of their countdown, they will fire the first cannon while the 3 near Fatalis immediately put on their Rocksteady Mantles. Afterwards, have the cannon user take off their Ghille mantle so Fatalis can see them. While the first cannon is firing, the two closest to Fatalis will grapple onto opposite sides of the head. One will flinch shot him so that he goes down on all fours while the other clutch claw attacks the head to tenderize it. Once Fatalis is on all fours, the 3rd person standing further back will grapple onto the head and flinch shot Fatalis into a wall. Not only does this do a ton of damage on a tenderized head, but it angesr Fatalis and activates Agitator for more damage for the next part. After this exchange, Fatalis should slink over to the cannon user. Have the 3 on the ground follow him over, and have the cannon user prepare to fire the second cannon. Once Fatalis gets there, they will fire the second cannon, which should knock him down. Finally, with his head on the ground, do as much damage as possible in that window. Since you're all nearby and ready for the knockdown, this should be the best opportunity in the whole fight to do head damage. Once he gets back up, immediately Farcaster back to camp so you can swap to your regular builds. Mission accomplished, you did a metric ton of damage to the head.
Ugh. Yeah. I don't hunt to have to sit there like it's an old MMO raid. I don't have friends that play, and the very few I've run across are fairly new and don't have anywhere near the access to resources I do. And I'm not a large fan of voice chat. I'm sitting this one out.
@@NeckBreakingStunts I've been playing for 14 years, and am 39. I am no longer interested in this bullshit challenge I've done for more than a decade before this. Time to fill my guild card. I have no need to kill this when I fucking soloed Alatreon on 3u in a homeless shelter. Bite your tongue and gladly fuck off.
@@NeckBreakingStunts I don't want to go back to the days I had to kill EVERYTHING myself. I like this game for co-op, but this is stupid. Don't need this agitation.
This was a great guide and this will help alotta hunters out. Also might I say when you were talking about the "Kulve Taroth special". You can also avoid that by clutch clawing onto him and get a free clutch claw attack or simply get off of him when the moves over.
Really wish guide writers and those who have beaten Fatalis would stop saying "stage 1 is fairly easy" because it isn't. Statements like that set up a false impression for those who have never done that. Would be nice if the guide listed types of weapons to be used best and what element/ailment is better than others. Does he have a pattern of attacks or are they random? Bc if I attack him with a cannon, pattern of attacks is different than if i just engage him straight on which makes him look like AI just casts random attacks as if playing Magic the Gathering - we know what spells are in the deck, but when they get cast is entirely up to chance. All these things should be mentioned in a guide to an adversary like Fatalis. Also also, he doesn't just drop dragon pods, you have claw them out. I have attempted this crap over a dozen times now, have yet to see a random falling out dragon pod unless i claw for it.
I finally made it to Fatalis. I was big into monster hunter a year or two ago. Then made it to the Grinding Lands and lost steam. Then right before the “Back to World” campaign I hopped back in the game. Farmed up grinding lands got up to Safi and did my first multiplayer hunts. I was always afraid to mess up someone else’s hunts or mess my hunts up so I never played with others. But since I could only get to 3rd level safi without killing him I needed multiplayer hunts. It’s so fun. Anyway made it to Fatalis yesterday and this fucker is tough. Love ur guides

Another thing to note for 10:13 , Lance(And assumingly Gunlance) Can block the flames for teammates behind the player. Not practical but if you are in a bind, may help you out.
Roaming ballista helps a lot with head breaks, but if its up after all the breaks it does the most damage to his chest. 70-ish times 100 shots is a sizable chunk of his health. You can safely clutch his head during the sweeping fire breath attack (provided it doesn't pull you through the beam) and get a tenderize or wall bang. If you interact with the cannons within a certain range of him, he can notice you even through ghillie. I've been sniped out while loading cannonballs multiple times, so be aware. The flame wash attack can be blocked not just by the pillars, but by a teammate with guard up, or by getting enough above ground level on ledges or platforms. The roaming ballista moves fast and you don't seem to be affected by the wind from his takeoff when on it, so it can be your express train to safety if you're lucky to be near it when he starts his nuke. If you're stuck behind him when he does his big tail swipe, you can dodge through it with good timing. It's very hard to get out of the strike zone so this may be the only way to save yourself. *Bonus* If you're struggling, take a plundercat and try to break his chest and wings (much easier than head, sometimes you can break wings in the opening cannon salvo) and you should be able to get the parts to make the legs and waist of his armor. On top of being solid pieces on their own, the 2pc set unlocks all skill secrets to boot.
Bro I had one team, randoms might I say and we were doing SO FUCKING WELL AND GOOD, we were keeping each other alive, no carts and plus an extra safeguard from me and we reach the point where the proof of a hero started to play and 2 mins later WE STARTED TO FUCKING DROP LIKE FLIES AND LOST I FELT LIKE I WAS GONNA HAVE A METAL BREAKDOWN *sigh* because I think ive went at fatalis more than 60 tries already 2 close ones and that one where we WERE SO CLOSE. Yes if your wondering, since the first day ive been going at him each day from noon to midnight with little break in between. Yes I have no life. Yes its bad for my health. But if I can't slay him, im no hunter.
You are a hunter even if you can’t slay him. He’s basically a god in the MH universe. You will slay him eventually, but don’t be hard on yourself, because then: 1-you’ll unnecessarily bring yourself down 2-you won’t even have fun during the fight. I can’t tell you how many tries I failed, but even then, I absolutely love Fatalis.
@@sinner2133 oh don't worry I am still having fun fighting him, its just that one run almost split my brain into two lmao Ahhhhhhh....today is another day :D
@@sinner2133 And now me and my team finally defeted him... It was like last time, keeping each other alive, healing each other, being very careful...but this time, we slayed fatalis....and then I slayed him again with another team and got two evil eyes now! :D
VenomSlingShooter i have 3 evil eyes total. I need one more just so I can get the Palico weapon and complete his (or, in my case, her) set. I also need A LOT of cortexes because I want the layered armor (it’s like 30 cortexes total for both the normal armor set and the layered armor, and I currently have 9). I’m trying to get the plunderblade right now but I can’t even find the lynian researcher in the Rotten Vale.
Remember to bring the element opposite to what he starts in, ice if he’s in fire mode, and fire in ice mode, dragon’s basically useless outside of dragon mode. Base game weapons like Shrieking Legiana, Valkhena, Glavenus, and Silver Rathalos will work if you don’t feel like farming Frostfang, Kjarr or Safi weapons, or if they’re just out of rotation (though the latter options are still preferable, Safi’s here right now). Remember to focus the front legs in fire/ice mode, then the head in dragon mode. And don’t forget you can send an sos flare for help, most players have the hang of him now.
Go hammer, parts breaker 3, divine blessing and maintenece 5.(addition of artillary is good) with rockstady and temporal mantle. Battle starts, wear the mantle and clutch on to it’s head and attack over and over again. If you’re doing ok you’ll enter second phase by 7 min. As soon as Fatalis comes back to the arena, run to the roaming ballista. Focus the head, it should break by than. After that, farcaster out, grab your main weapon (Alatreon is preferable) and do the normal thing. Be sure to land both dragonater, it deletes 10% of it’s max hp. Basically how you solo farm this thing.
Another Tip that I've personally found really useful Do mount attacks on him and when you think you are going to mount him, stop. When you are fully in DPS mode like for Charge Blades being full Phials and Dragon Mantle for max Dragon Damage, mount him and knock him over. I ran Glider Mantle & Dragon Mantle and got super close to beating him solo but ran out of time. All the tips he mentioned in the video basically work in a solo run so do not ignore Dragon Pods or ignore the free two cannon shots, free Binder or Free Roaming Ballista. All of this Free Damage is helpful and will see you through the hunt. Happy Hunting!
I find that Fatalis and Safi'Jiiva have a lot of similar things. Both have the original dragon design, both have two backward horns, both have glowing chest, both have some kind of critical or power-up state, both have the title of The "colour" Dragon (Fatalis is "The Black Dragon", Safi'Jiiva is "The Red Dragon"), ... But when comes to the differences, Fatalis and Safi'Jiiva are like opposites of each other. Fatalis can make other monsters run away from him, Safi'Jiiva can lure other monsters to him. Fatalis is known to be the Dragon that destroyed the entire kingdom, Safi'Jiiva created Guiding Land from Zorah Madarog's corpse. After we defeat Fatalis, the Seeker and Handler said that Fatalis may not be born with such power, he seeks power for some reasons, and even when he already has enough power to destroy an entire kingdom in one night, he still wants to seek more power. There's still a lot of mysteries about Fatalis and Safi'Jiiva, but I believe they will meet each other in the future games. My theories is the five Dragon from the tale of five is the opposite of the Black Dragons. All Black Dragons are known as their destructive, while the Five Dragons were known to be the entities that created the world. Dragons of Destruction, Dragons of Creation, and Nergigante stand between those gods, keep the balance between two sides.
So was altereon. The last two dragons in this game really are the. " Time to Separate the men from the Boys" kind of Hunting. Especially for those who refused to play against Arch Tempered Monsters. Denying yourself challenges will mess you up in the end.

You forgot to mention one important thing in this video: Fatalis CANNOT be stunned in this game! The "ka-ching" stunning sound that usually comes with striking the head with your hammer doesn't even play. True. Alatreon is a retard if you Duo him and both Palicos using the shield gadget

(Fun fact, you can sing the can-can song while blocking in the flames and the pings from your shield are perfectly in time)
You CAN get eyes from the palico's givemeshitarang.
Cortex too? I've killed him about 10 times but always running low on those.
Shvabicu I got a shiny drop cortex and I was running palarang
This.. is... News to me.. good news lol
@@Vullgrim I got a lot of eyes from all my kills but cortex is really rare

Below are my skills
Attack Boost 7
Critical Eye 7
Dragon Attack 4 + 2 from Temporal Mantle
Resentment 4
Defense boost 3
Health boost 3
Fire resistance 3
Dragon resistance 3
Part Breaker 3 (a must have to break horns)
Weakness exploit 2
Coalescence 2
Fortify 1
Heavy Artillery 2 (Charm)
Attack increase 1 + Elemental Up 2 for weapon augment.
While shield is nice, I strongly encourage everyone consider vigorwasp. It basically gives you a second Moxie
I have beat almost all the brutal monsters solo lol it's like the more you have the tougher the monster becomes lol
@@dasMoschustier
I fought it with health boost 3 and I gotta say it was an interesting fight (30 minutes was very annoying tho.
But that like the only downfall is that most people who play MHW:I (especially on PC) don't really communicate with each other all that much so people just run around like chickens with their heads cut off. lol yeah it feels pretty brutal at first.
@@crimsoncutz8430 Only problem will be realizing the ques for his super flame attacks and were to go for the first time
At least 2 people faint online in the first phase like wtf
Yeet + cannonball pretty much does it.
Ryaquaza 1 yep, playing with randoms is so rough. Also the fact that it’s another mr24 minimum quest so everyone and their mom can play it. I think it should be mr100 minimum honestly.

*Tries attacking head. Gets run over.*
Right. So, that doesn't work.

It does work just during his longer breath attacks xd
Hunting 101: *"Two Dragon Pods a day will keep Fatalis away"*
another tips i found when facing fatalis is, when he do his "Annoying Cone Attack" that Burn Everything infront of him, A hunter using all kinda Shield who had Guard Up Skill, Can Make Safe Room for another Hunter behind him when the shield user do the guard thing. its just cool mechanic , its like make u the strongest tank i guest for the shield user of course .
I’d recommend having a farcaster on standby (radial menu) and use it as soon as you see him preparing his cone attack, if you’re full health you should have a second or two to fire farcaster and get the heck out of there 👍
Guard up works wonders against his fire attacks.
Donk donk donk donk donk donk!
It may also push you into a safe distance from the attack.
I beat him solo not too long before this vid came out :v
My tip is actually to practice it solo. That way if you play in multiplayer you're less likely to be the cause of your team's demise.
That's what I did. But I die when I try and superman dive the game just makes me roll.

@Chiafade now Can you make anything without beating him first tho?
@@Sweet7Montana nope because you need to break horns, you can get enough parts to make the layered armor and trick players into THINKING you beat it, but don't do that, you're saying you're better then you are when people are hoping for others who beat it

Thanos says it perfectly: You should have gone for the head. It's such a fun hunt even with all the carting. But a learning experience altogether.
he is indeed the thanos of the monster hunter universe
It’s a rough fight but the armor is soooo bad ass
Its not fun when carting at all. You're just a masochist.
Fatalis: I’m the hardest boss in MHW, I’m imposing and require guides or time and effort to defeat
The Slinger: Allow me to introduce myself
The move Fatalis uses at 6:34 is in my opinion his most dangerous move that isn't one of his nukes. He can use it in any phase, any time he wants, and even with twenty to thirty fire resistance can kill you nearly instantly. Plus, he shoots the fire right at his feet, a position your whole team is likely to be near when he's on his hind legs, and since it has a very quick startup, you can be punished for attacking for mere frames too long, especially if you're using a weapon with slow animations like greatsword or lance.
i know this is 2 years old but holy fucking christ on a stick the amount of times ive seen it coming, gone to roll away, only to get stuck somehow on the last two pixels of his fUCKING TOES
insect glaive op for this fight
The moment me and my team killed him and the CLASSIC ending hunt theme plays from 1st and 2nd generation along with the CLASSIC proof of hero just brought me to tears what an amazing send off this was. Long live Monster Hunter!
How the hell can i get 3 teammates that actually know what they are doing? Just doesn’t happen in this game
join a discord, weissgaming or something. Also, filter your server search for fatalis. You'll find that there are more folk who have a better idea of what do to.
Hunting horn buffs and some tanks
This quest is a hell of a lot easier solo. So you don’t actually NEED 3 other people.
It's way easier, solo or with Duals, I do it with my brother, Greatsword and Hammer, We've been farming him, have both sets already
You can get lucky sometimes. First time i beat him was with a random team.
Managed to kill him once when i was disconnected from my team. But man if the quest timer is the normal 50 minutes time, i can kill him solo multiple time since the timer runs out when i try to solo him
That happened to me too. I had 2 faints left when it happened but I feel like I would have lost if I hadn’t disconnected.

By the way, for GS users, you can block his normal cone breath with your guard. Watch how other people do it, there are few tricks to maximise your damage, some related to your build and some to the environmental weapons (like equipping Heavy Artillery and sleeping Fatalis before using the Dragonator)
I managed to do it solo on my 5th attempt. Used Alatreon LS, you really have to play smart and keep up your damage to his chest and head

10:15 you can actually block the cone fire attack, with every shield available, even with heavy bowgun, you just need guard 5 and guard up, and with the bowgun i would suggest max shields, it takes arround 5%-10% of your life, but thats allot better than dying i guess.
It also crates a safe zone behind your big shield users for non shield users to heal

OMG, YOU SIR GAVE ME THE SOLUTION TO THE 360 FIRE BREATH SPAM

He a good fight once you get used to his move set just think of fatilis as a dark souls boss thats what i did defeat him 3 times with that method
He’s harder than any souls boss I’ve fought, and I’ve played all the games
Still fun for sure though

"not artificially" good one dude
Haven't beaten him once yet I'm struggling so much with him but I'm glad he's hard cant imagine farming him
Plunderblading him works. I did that before I managed to slay him. After that I had enough mats to craft 4 pcs.
Garette Sebastian
* cries in lvl 4 plunder blade *
1.Use gilli mantle for the canons.
2. Use the new skill for your slinger that tenderizes and drops slinger dragon ammo.
3. Go for the head and always flinch it, once you run put the grab onto it and use your weapon to tenderize it.
4. Rinse and repeat.
5. Be careful of しんざこs, they're very reckless
The hardest of this guide is finding 3 friends to play ;-;
Two people is easier, as long as they know what to do
Same TvT
This is super handy thanks. I have to say your sword and shield damage in this video is crazy. Never seen such a high consistency of numbers with sns xd
After phase 3. I was like wtf, there's more?
got one tip:
First, let one teammate go get the cannon first, load all of them and then give them a signal to come down.
Second, once they almost there shoot the cannon, Fatalis should be rushing toward the cannon. (First cannon: Left, 1) (Second Cannon: Left, 3) (Required Heavy artillery's)
thirds, after it start to rise it should be facing the cannon, which is now useless, you can yeet him into the cannon.
11) Here's a similar but alternative starting method to the one shown in this video that I like more to dish out an insane amount of damage to the head early on:
Make a hyper damage build designed to dish out as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time.

I've gotten so close so many times with my DBs. I just need a little more damage. Shame you're not on PC Arekkz
Which DBs are you using?
@@sinner2133 Alatreon Madness
kaiburr94 nice. That’s what I’ve been using as well alongside a full safi set. Really useful
@@sinner2133 good stuff! I use Safi/Alatreon mix, works just as well for me as long as I don't cart and lose the food buff
Another thing to note for 10:13 , Lance(And assumingly Gunlance) Can block the flames for teammates behind the player. Not practical but if you are in a bind, may help you out.
Tips and tricks when fighting in a group should be the title of this video.
*Bonus*
If you're struggling, take a plundercat and try to break his chest and wings (much easier than head, sometimes you can break wings in the opening cannon salvo) and you should be able to get the parts to make the legs and waist of his armor.
You will slay him eventually, but don’t be hard on yourself, because then:
1-you’ll unnecessarily bring yourself down
2-you won’t even have fun during the fight. I can’t tell you how many tries I failed, but even then, I absolutely love Fatalis.
@@sinner2133 oh don't worry I am still having fun fighting him, its just that one run almost split my brain into two lmao
Ahhhhhhh....today is another day :D
That first bit is not "pretty easy" it's one of the hardest things in the game.
That first part is one of the most frustrating boss fights ever made.
And I'm here stuck with Alatreon.
Rye C. You on PS4?
you can sos flare.
Basically how you solo farm this thing.
bruh this is impossible to do matched up with randoms.
Then I have done the impossible I guess.
Thanks for the help. I just got to Fatalis and your tips are gonna help me a lot. Can’t wait to see you in Wildes. Hopefully we can hunt together.
The time limit is brutely short so you don't want this fight to...dragON!
Another Tip that I've personally found really useful
Do mount attacks on him and when you think you are going to mount him, stop.
It’s not easy not at all
its really not, especially the last phase when you did not break the head
This is a lot to expect from randoms 😭
So was altereon. The last two dragons in this game really are the. " Time to Separate the men from the Boys" kind of Hunting. Especially for those who refused to play against Arch Tempered Monsters. Denying yourself challenges will mess you up in the end.
@@spottedslash4256 I don't really like going into hunts solo so I've always gone into a 4 man party. I've attempted Alatreon dozens of times and my teammates always freaking faint, or they're using a raw/blast weapon. Im so frustrated ill probably just end up soloing it anyways, maybe ill try some 2 man hunts
@@charlotte1060 I understand that. At this point in the game. You'd think they'd figure out. You can't just jump in. You actually have to think before you play. As for Alatreon, yeah it's been painful for me too. They literally tell you Raw weapons don't work, and you see these guys bring them in. I could be wrong, but i seem to get the feeling.....The ones that jumped into MHW from Iceborne with the Defender Armour & Weapons are telling on themselves.
