I don't get it, the move that keeps killing me isn't in this entire video. He shoots a big circular thing of fire near his feet that lasts a long time and kills me almost instantly and I have no way to get away from it with the gunlance
you mean the thing in final phase where it spins around with a fire breath in a circle? Anyway if you're having trouble and can't position out of something, guard up should let you block any move. Evade extender might also help. I'm not sure which move you're referring to but either a few backhops (possibly with evade extender) or blocking (with guard up if it's needed for the move) should cover everything. I don't remember any particular move giving me trouble as GL when I was doing runs, but it's been a long time so I may be misremembering.
Neat. I'll rework my gunlance. I don't have fatalis gl, switching to switchaxe main. Switchaxe builds I have don't survive long. My gunlance is more of a defensive shelling. If I convert it to bps... hmm.... could I ask why you don't guard? That's usually what I do
im trying for a fairly quick run, at least by my standards, so my focus is on trying to do damage and dodge. Shielding is pretty slow, eats sharpness, causes chip, etc, so i try to avoid it. BUT you definitely should shield if you're about to take damage and shielding will save you, i should too but I don't play GL much so im not in the habit of doing it. Honestly i have no clue if i should be shielding more lol, im too used to GS where the shield is near useless haha Also dont be afraid to run a regular GL build against this guy, i just play slaplance because i find it more fun. The key takeaways here are how i position and dodge and stuff - feel free to play similarly with any other playstyle, and just figure out what a good cone punish is with shelling or whatever. Or just play the chad slaplance :p
@@ConsOA typically I use full burst. Some slap, lots of artillery. Lance goes up, Lance falls down, Lance goes boom, wide sweep, quick reload, slammed, boom, sweep, reload, repeat
@@ShukakuTheCrazy1 yeah full burst slam is my fave way to play GL other than slaplance (not that theyre very different!), and i think the big hitzone on fatalis' head is what made me go for all melee rather than burst, but both should be completely fine

@@ConsOA Oh, you have actually replied :-o I play shelling lance, so I have wide 7 and long 6 for charged shelling, but I believe that I have never seen three digits on wyrmstake. I have true artillery and thats about it. I thing that its around 60 per tick. I gave up on gunlance for this fight, because how quick is he able to punish during reload...
@@robertolbert3585 stake scales with raw iirc, which is probably why our sets do much different damage. i dont really have any tips for shell lance because i never played it, sorry >.
@@ConsOA no worries, i might build similar set as yours and give slap lance a spin. I am equally bad with any weapon. So it doesn't really matters much. I have never successfuly soloed fatalis lol. Took me 950 hrs to get to this point. Anyway, I highly appreciate your replies.

That’s some nice slap lance fren :) If you’re planning on learning shelling do take the time to practice on other monsters to practice the timing on your combos. Also Evade Extender is the first thing on all my GL sets after Artillery/Cap Boost. Did that set end up more efficient than the 4 Fatalis, Gamma Nami Waist?
Been struggling to kill fatalis at all with GL, this is the first thing that pops up on google and so I learn that my answer is I have to i-frame everything he does with short hops and play regular lance but worse. Fuck me
this is just how i find it easiest to fight it, you should take what seems useful to you and note the punishes and positioning especially, and try and work it in. stack up evasion window and hop s are so easy it's silly anyway

I do have a video like that actually. It's this one, but you just imagine I play exactly the same playstyle, make all of the exact same decisions, don't change anything about the way I play, and it just takes about 2 minutes longer

I have the same set and for some reason I'm doing half as damage to the head with the slap as you, how?
How tf are you doing that much dmg? I am doing like half. The same goes for other videos. Is it because of the different platform? I am on PC.
if you have the same skills, food buffs/skills, etc and the same weapons, you should be getting the same damage. platform makes no difference

A sub 10 mins seems completely doable if you don't miss stakes.

Any gl playstyle is fine, i was just messing with slam lance because im new to gl and its pretty fun
So not about the cones but all he does is bite or just go on all 4s. Its really annoying.
