The spring could be used for brakes, Try fast forward or rewind, if the spindles keep spinning after you hit stop that means there is a missing tension spring.
That's definitely not the original remote, as it looks like one from a mid-eighties machine. On the plus side, at least the basic functions still work as the codes are the same!
It must be great getting stuff to actually work!! Great video I learnt alot although I have a completely different model Panny HS900 I'm hoping alot of the mechanics is similar.
i have a panasonic nv-hd640 wich i have been trying to fix i think the issue is similar i load a tape and it goes in and down thats it and makes a buzzing jamming noise ( i think from the loading motor) im trying to see if it could be anything mechanical but im not the best in terms of tech repair so yeah its sad because the unit i found is almost non used
I had the same problem on a friends VCR recently. I used your earlier video to diagnose and fix the problem. Here is a link to my repair video. th-cam.com/video/VXXBL8y-Ok0/w-d-xo.html
Once again, great diagnosis. If only you could implant the ability in others so we could keep repairing these devices.
Excellent repair!

Excellent repair as always. By the, what capture device did you you use to grab video in the 20:05 position?
The Cloner Alliance Box Pro
@@norcal715 Thanks for your answer.
Very interesting ! I wonder how many motors the mechanism has... Would you happen to know ?
Great. 👍
Keeps popping internal fuse. Thx Mark
Mitsubishi m1000 video recorder won’t release the tape
Mx-100 sub worth saving?
YES! Save it.
There's no way that's the right remote for that VCR. Also, Amanda bynes... Too soon
Same as RCA. Radio corporation of America.
Both RCA and JVC are just name tags at this point. Nothing is made by Japan Victor Corporation or Radio Corporation of America worth a crap today.

Thank you for mentioning me in your video. This unit should last many more years!
@@norcal715 You are welcome and thanks for watching my video. I have to admit that I was completely stumped until I saw your original repair video.
