This was absoluetly phenomenal! Nor only was the acting on point, the singing and DANCING was something way beyond my wildest exspectiations. For this to only be a high school production (I think) you guys for real killed it! I have never wanted to be in the audience as badly as I wish I was for this one. Their spirit was amazing.
It is getting to where you cannot tell a high school production from a Broadway Production. Better and better each time! You young people will remember this for the rest of your lives. Relish it now while you are young as time does fly by. Great job!
I have directed many a high school musical over the last almost 50 years, and this is way beyond good! To find so many good voices and dancers in one place is next to impossible in most locations. The closest I have ever seen is in Missoula Montana at MCT, where it draws a cast from many schools in the surrounding area, and trains young people for several years as they mature to adult actors. Thumbs up. Ebert!
He really a triple threat...can sing with amazing rawness and emotion, his dancing looks effortless and so natural and his acting melts your heart and makes you feel every small thing he's feeling and draws you in and makes you forgets he's acting
Just finished watching the Off Broadway Production with Jeremy Jordan and company. So here I am watching this version with these awesome actors! I salute to the whole cast especially the one who played the role of Jack. Kid has a great voice and sounds just like Jeremy Jordan!! Santa Fe is my favorite track on here! They can look back as they get older and enjoy something they took part in! Newsies!! Strike!

Honestly I LOVE this Katherine. She really has her own personality. She's so bold, she's amazing, yes she was quite harsh in the beginning but I love the way the actress played a strong and bold character, though different from the Broadway Katherine ! Congrats though < 3

Everyone's acting, singing and dancing is on point here!! It's also super nice to see Black and brown teens showing off their talents and representing the historical reality that newsies weren't all white kids.
this cast is so talented... ive watched this probably about 8 or 9 times now and every time i pick up on little details i didnt notice before! i loved elmer and finch as background characters, and race has so much energy and personality to him- i can safely say i put him right next to ben cook as my favorite race actors! finch's actor is so good with his tumbling as well, i wish i was that good haha.. jack was amazing and i screamed internally when he grabbed the hat in santa fe

The technical people - lighting, set design, costume match the people on stage. Shows like this don't happen by accident - the drama department has some very gifted and totally dedicated teachers - a real gift to the students lucky enough to work with them!!!!
This whole performance was incredible. Jack was... phenomenal, Race was amazing, and the girl who played Medda was really good too. All the vocals were amazing. The Katherine in this show felt... don't get me wrong her vocals were great, but the way she played the role, she felt too angry, not quite sweet enough - kinda felt like Sharpay from HSM, not Katherine. Other than that, the show was incredible! Loved seeing Jack dancing.
This was a real treat ! The BEST production I've seen outside of the Broadway company. Hoke was absolutely SENSATIONAL ! The chorus dancers were all well trained and powerful. Some of them stood out as Broadway ready; especially the tall dancer with the black and grey stripped long sleeve shirt and lighter grey vest - I believe his name is Sammy Fossum. EXCELLENT dancer !!! He pulled my focus all the way through the production numbers. Your vocals were top notch and the orchestrations were unbelievably GOOD. I applaud you all and give you a well deserved STANDING 'O' as I scream at the top of my lungs "BRAVO!!!" My hats off to the director, choreographer and musical director, not to mention the fabulous pit.

I had just watched the Disney movie and was in the mood for more, and this was like watching another version of the movie, just as good. Were there any news articles about this show? Just feels like this should be talked about more. So many great talents here.

Imagine being caught up in a moment....they made me believe the moment and I forgot it was acting! I felt like I was watching a romantic moment between 2 people. And the shyness of Jack leading up to it and then him taking charge with the kiss....magical
For a school production this is actually pretty impressive, the only things that disappointed me is that people ca never get Race right! They were a little fast with dialogue. The nuns were a little off key, but they were still great! Everything else is honestly amazing! All of them are so talented and I hope they continue to grow with their voices and dance moves and such

I'm curious, though: Did you use a recorded track of pro's for the orchestra? If it was a high school orchestra, I'm tossing my trumpets onto the freeway.
