"It's just SLOW!" | How to Add SPEED to your Golf Swing

  • David had felt that his golf swing had lost its life, throughout the years of working on it he had completely unintentionally inhibited himself from swinging freely.
The increased amount of tension that can occur from a lot of conscious effort put into positional work on a golf swing can create so much inertia on the system that both a high cognitive and physical effort are then required to swing the golf club.
Here are a few ideas and exercises that got David started on his journey to explore new potential in his golf swing. As always a huge thanks to David for letting us share his ZEN Golf Mechanics experience with you guys.

Just got the GRF system.....the video you supply with the program is awesome! It is amazing how much I wasn't using the ground forces to generate the appropriate speed necessary for an effortless swing! Wow. I had been experiencing left hip pain and now realize it was due to my upper body and arms swinging faster than my ground forces....causing an over rotation of my hips. This stuff works, trust me people! Great job Marcus!

I absolutely love this one. I watched this video months ago, then I couldn't find it when I wanted to refer to it again. Luckily I found it today! I have a friend who will benefit from the info in this lesson. Thanks.

Biomechanics used and explained in a way we can all understand and use without being blinded by the science of it. I enjoy watching all the biomechanics based TH-cam golf content, most of which is US based, as we all know, so to have Marcus and his team in the UK is one up on all of them ! To see the students not only making great swings and strikes, but waliking taller too, is great. It's not just the golf receiving a boost. Well done to everyone.

Just love watching you make dramatic improvement to all your golfers, you always manage to turn their buttons on. Great example in this video.

Another fab transformation. David is very supple for his age and managed to take full advantage of that fact after this lesson. The sound of the ball flying off the clubface at the end of the lesson was awesome. He'll be taking the money in the Senior's Fiddle.

I knew rewatching this would be a smart move 👍. Don’t feel bad David there’s a lot of us getting the club into position and not enough “Marcus’ “ out there to teach us.

Amazing to see David at his age to look for instruction and progression in golf. Marcus, when I see your work on this student, I am confident, that you achieve similar improvements on me. Looking forward to my session with you in September. Well done Marcus and David!

A combination of old age and ill health has greatly reduced my clubhead speed to where I’m only carrying 120 yards with my driver.
The last lesson I had with you we managed to get to where I was carrying 133 yards with an iron.
Watching this lesson made me go back to my video and you were telling me that I was doing everything to slow down my swing, even slamming the brakes on.
So back to the drawing board.🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️

Another fantastic lesson. Unbelievable instruction. I love how you teach the movement in a natural way, so that the student can get use to the natural sequence and their own timing. Many of the moves just come without thinking about them it really does boil down to what’s your intention for that shot. Cheers.

    this one is fantastic !
i keep returning to it and focusing on the too much linear but not enuf angular force.
Great coach and great student 👌
just to share my Personal experience : in down swing i have to allow it to drop, not pulling down but dropping down. and it does take the patience of a saint to wait for it to drop before pushing up.
