Hurricane Milton sees evacuation of 1 MILLION people as Florida officials warn 'stay & you die'

- THOUSANDS of people are fleeing Florida as a monster 180mph hurricane barrels towards the state.
Hurricane Milton's near-record winds and expected storm surge are set to bring destruction to areas already reeling from Helene's devastation 12 days ago.
The Category 5 hurricane is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday.
More than a million people have been ordered to evacuate from its path - with a further six million put under hurricane-watch warning.
The storm will be the worst to impact the Tampa area in more than 100 years if it stays on the current track, according to the National Weather Service.
Mayor Jane Castor warned the city's almost 400,000 residents to urgently evacuate.
She told CNN: "I can say this without any dramatization whatsoever: if you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you are going to die.

At the end of the day, people will do what they can. I love animals, too, and wouldn’t want to leave my pet, but those who can’t take them, or board them, are stuck, really. I live in Michigan, and found out the assisted living group where my 103 year old grandmother lives, has NO PLANS to evacuate. She's smack in the middle of Tampa.

You should contact news local to your area about this. Many managers and supervisors will stay in the path of a tornado to keep the lights on incase the "community needs us".
With the storm approaching from the southwest all of the bays and inlets along the west coast vulnerable to storm surge not to mention the barrier island communities. Some areas very heavily populated with hundreds of thousands of homes at near sea level. One of the most dangerous areas in which to live with frequent hurricanes.
If you live in affected parts of Florida, apply to the closest FEMA location. You will get a debit card with significant money on it. Get it and spend it. That initial money to disaster areas is to keep the local economy going, so use it on locally owned companies if you can.
If you take the money, just remember it’s a LOAN! And if you don’t pay it back within a certain time, they will take your house,land, everything you own! ❤❤❤ from Scotland.😊
That is not true. This money is not a loan, it is a grant. Please stop spreading lies. If you get a low interest loan for recovery, you will sign legal 3:04 loan papers, just like any other loan. At the loan signing you will be clearly informed of any repayment terms.
I learned this when my community was devastated by Tornadoes, and within days FEMA had a vacant store set up for taking applications. There were dozens of people working to help people apply for aid. Everyone who lived in the disaster area got this money, and no one was asked to pay it back.

National Guard comes in afterwards to provide order. Lines will be long etc.. My family barely survived Hurricane Andrew.Forget boarding up. Everything will leveled. Cutler Ridge was a disaster
Too bad people did not learn from Andrew. My parents left way before Andrew in 1967. My mother lived through Donna in 1960. 2ft of water in her house in Sarasota was enough for her. She was in 9th grade. When she met my Dad in 1966 they made plans to leave FL for better job opportunities and because of hurricanes. They left and did not look back. Relatives continued to ask when we would visit when we were going to move back. The answer was NEVER.
From time to time I watch Hurricane Andrew As It Happened and it’s actually insane what that storm did. I don’t think people realise the aftermath was more or less as bad as Katrina in terms of the sheer amount of people left to fend for themselves afterwards.

Guess where ALL the money that the US government is spending to replace the donated weapons and munitions the US sent to Ukraine is going? ... To US weapons manufacturers... That employ 100% Americans, giving countless thousands of jobs to Americans. 100% of that "spent" money is being recycled INTO the US economy.. it is not "lost" because no currency has been given to Ukraine. America is giving them ammunition and weapons that have been sitting in armories for decades, many of which have limited shelf-lives and would end up being expended in training exercises regardless and needed to be replaced anyway.
Israel, on the other hand, is another matter. The US does in fact give billions of dollars to them (also munitions). So your argument there is mostly accurate. But not to Ukraine, they don't get money for weapons / ammunition... they get those directly, which have an attached dollar value which is what people are referring to when they talk about "money for Ukraine".. they are speaking directly about the VALUE of the weapons donated. Weapons that will be replaced in the US by spending tax dollars on American businesses, giving Americans jobs.
