What is the best way to get in touch with you? Thanks. I'm in Pennsylvania. I fly helicopters and am having some trouble configuring my overall SIM screens. Thank you
Honestly, this is the best way. I don't currently do any type of direct messaging or email. What seems to be the problem? Start with platform, sim, and number of screens if you could.
MSFS Panel Manager released a new version this week that is compatible with SU12. Since I’d like to start all of my flights, cold and dark, I still prefer to use that program as I have not found a way to pop out the panels, cold and dark from within MSFS
I just found this out. I am working on a comparison video. It's great that POP Manager works with the inbuilt system. There are some caveats though. It seems you really should pick one or the other. One issue is that MSFS treats all of the G1000 aircraft the same in terms of pop out memory. So you still can't have two different locations, whether you use the MS system or POP Manager.
@@IvanSkyFlight I agree and for the moment my leaning is Pop Out Panel Manager 3.4.6. If you find out a way to pop the panels out cold and dark directly from MSFS let me know.
I have used PopOut Manager for almost a year now and it has been great. One of the best features is that it makes the touch function work in MSFS. Does anyone know if this functionality will be lost in the new MSFS update?
Might be a rookie question, but im a rookie….so here goes. Is there a way to have touch screen monitors so that the bezels actually control the functions in the displays?
Im trying to determine how well the KNOBS work in MSFS with Air Manager. Can you easily turn knobs with touch screen feature ? Ive been thru this before with Xplane but the knob turning didnt work well (not with Air Manager) in fact no touch screen feature seemed to work with Xplane for some reason. Ive downloaded the Demo version of Air Manager (2nd time) and i cant get anywhere. Im trying to do the very basic G1000 panel setup. hmmm Thanks so much !
First thing, are you sure your touch screens are working as they should with no sim loaded at all. Having said that, if your touch screens are working, then yes, the knobs should be able to be turned by touch and/or mouse. There is a setting for that within Air Manager (input). Let me know if your touch screens are working and we can start with that.
Not sure which app you are referring to, but both Air Manager and POPM should open up when you click on them. Can always try to uninstall and then reinstall.
@@djn32661 I am not sure. It should launch into a freestanding app.Did you check the system tray? It may be set to launch minimized to the system tray.
Thats all fine but I can no longer get the main pdf to pop out. There seems to be a quick flash of some sort but I cannot for the life of me find it and I have 5 screens plus an ipad to use. What am I doing wrong. Most of the other screens seem to pop out okay?
First, does the screen you are trying to pop out work manually with you using your mouse and Pop Out Panel Manager closed? Also, some displays are actually duplicates, especially in the bigger aircraft or aircraft with two PFDs and an MFD in the middle. On occasion those duplicates will only pop out once.
Why can’t Air Manager automatically load the G1000 screens itself when the appropriate aircraft and panels are selected? It’s a great program but hardly any updates or new features are ever added. A GTN750 would be an obvious choice.
panel pop-outs do not work for me, in that whenever my mouse is on one of them, all control, not only the mouse, freeze on the main screen, and the plane will, having no controls, will eventually crash.
This is a known issue for sure. I think many of us have worked this into our flying. I try not to interact with panels other than the Knobster and touch buttons. It helps but sometimes it's frustrating.
I have to be careful because if I take my laptop and do not have access to a secondary monitor I have gotten my popups stuck on a monitor not connected at the moment.
My problem is that I can't pop out panel in MSFS. When I put mouse curser on the G1000 PFD screen panel and press the right ALT key nothing happens. I have checked for binding conflict on the keyboard in Control Options. I am on Windows 11.
What happens when you try to pop out the MFD? Does the plus sign go away but there is no pop out? If so, did you recently change your external monitor configuration?
No the plus sign stays but it does not pop up on my external monitor no i have not changed the external monitor config ,before the MSFS updates i used to drag them both to my ext mon now the PFD pops up on my left mon but the MFD does not pop up on main screen nor on left monitor@@IvanSkyFlight
Great video! Wanted to mention there is an update to MSFS Pop Out Manager to support this SU12 pop out change . I’ve used it and it does the job. You should give it a try. The one strange thing I noticed is that it makes an outbound connection which Norton flagged. I Dont recall if this happened in the original version and I blocked it. I will like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!!
I had hear that. In fact there is a link in the description above that shows a video of me discussing this. Not sure about outbound connections. You would have to run that with the developer.
great video as you did each time. i just want to aske you one question .my air manager installed in other computer as well my fs2020 installed in different computer - .so how can i do pop out correctly
I don't think you can with a possible exception. If you are using software on the second machine that acts as a second monitor to the first, that may work. Otherwise, you are limited to having the instruments that are not pop out window dependent such as an airspeed indictor or the like (which really is most of them).
When you hover your mouse pointer over the display you are wanting to pop out while holding the right alt key down does the mouse cursor change to a plus sign?
I hope they've fixed this today. Remembering windows positions, plus the unique aircraft ID and the popped out panel, is nothing more than storing x1, x2, y1, y2, popout panel ID, aircraft ID, monitor ID in a table (plus anything else needed). And of course, you store as many entries as you want in that table, and, the same panel type can have it's own custom external monitor positions and scaling for different aircraft that use the same instrument. The monitors then get re-created automatically. This is bread and butter stuff, difficulty: 0. As I said, hopefully it's now fixed.
Thanks for the video. I do not currently use air manager. I am curious if you experience the same issue that I experience when popping out screens. I have a single high performance PC with three monitors attached. If I popout any panels to any monitor and have the curser inside any popout screen, none of my attached control hardware with work until I move the curser to any non popout screen. Example: if the flap control on an attached piece of hardware is moved from up to fully down while the mouse curser is on a popout screen the sim will not put the flaps down. If the curser is moved back to the main screen, the flaps will then extend. This does not happen for computer generated controls such as a programmed turn at a waypoint.
Yes, this seems to be the current behavior. If your mouse cursor is over a pop out window, whether it's on the main screen or an external display, the controls will freeze at their current position and then unfreeze once your mouse cursor is moved off of the pop out window. One advantage to having Air Manager is that it decreases the need to put your mouse cursor over the pop out window. You are usually clicking on the bezel or a button. This does not cause the controls to freeze. If you miss and touch the pop out window with your finger it will consider that a mouse touch and freeze the controls.
Please remember People you dont need Air Manager to pop out Displays. This is a feature of MSFS but it doesn't remember for the next flight or Aircraft!
Correct and incorrect. You don't need Air Manager to pop out displays. MSFS now does remember pop location and size. It seems to more to the navigation unit than plane, but if using the same plane it will remember.
Typical Asobo half arsed implementation, should be per plane, not per avionics. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult for the Popout Panel Manager dev to just cut out the step of separating and moving the popouts and just move them after MSFS finishes up and that will add back the per plane functionality.
Yes, though you might also want to look at Super Display, not free but cheap and might work better than SpaceDesk, also allows a wired USB connection as well as Wi-Fi.
