I wrapped my seeds in napkins and put it in an empty yogurt plastic container. Spray some water on it and put the lid on it after two months I opened it today and found 11 seeds sprouts already. Very happy in California 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

That's what I did, it rooted! I got one of those bigger shiny avocados! It took between 3 and 4 weeks for it to root. Now it's in the pot❤😊 It seems as though the shoot might be coming up though

Thanks for this! I put two avocado seeds in a ziploc just two weeks ago and have little roots coming out of them already. I'm choosing to continue on with them in water with toothpicks and then I'll go from there. Very exciting!

This worked so well!! Thank you so much!! In just a month it has grown roots and a stem inside the bag and I put it in a soil right away. Two months later it has grown ridiculously fast.

Unknowingly, I did this! A friend gave me a seed and I procrastinated and left the seed in a bag with paper towel. I re-wet the paper towel and left it in the bag and will now be planting it according to your planting instruction video. Thanks for your simplistic instructions as I definitely do not have a green thumb…YET! Haha! Off to the store for some peat moss and pearlite 👋🏼 Thank You!

Hey Scott. I used the same method about a year ago, the perfect spot a found was in-between 2 dishcloths on top of my geckos tank near the light... The growth was incredible, unfortunately didn't time it but I do remember the shoots growing alot faster than ones I planted straight into soil

firstly thank you for your avocado growth videos! I am an amateur fan of avocado seed growth and kind of addicted not to throw avocado seeds to the bin ;D secondly I usually ( I mean always) put the seed directly into the pot with soil. They almost always grow after 2-3-4 months and they grow than so fast than you actually have to monitor them to cut them so they do not grow too high. Anyway I will try the plastic bag method next time :) thanks for all the knowledge! Going to see the soil preparation video soon.

Hi Scott, I live in southern England and have tried to germinate avocado seeds many times and in many ways as described on youtube, sadly with no joy! i want to give your paper towel method ago and hopfully i will have success!! can you just confirm one thing? i have always used supermarket avocados which arrive refigerated and we continue to staore in the same way. Would i have more success with fresh avocados from a grocer which are not refrigerated? cheers in advance for any help, Dave

Tried it out too and wow, it does work. Same method, kept it dark in cupboard. Looked up and then what he/she is doing and *bang*. Still wait a bit longer until I put it in soil. Experience shows, they grow real high. So, do I need to cut them down on the stem somewhere if they become too high ?

@@ScottGrowsanAvocadoTree as it'll take some time, I don't know if I'll remember by the time they germinate but that would be nice as I tried different methods : half are peeled and half unpeeled, similarly to the avocado experience.
On a scale that won't mean anything really, but I'm still curious as it didn't cover the bag method!
Thank you for this channel btw, it really helps sudden avocado enthusiasts 😆🥑💚

I usually do the water and toothpick method but I tried this method and it worked. However, something weird happened, the leaves on the stem are really thick and white. Almost succulent like in thickness. I’ve never seen that before. Is that normal? It seems to be growing fine still but it’s odd.

This most recent new moon, I opened an avocado and there was basically a little tree inside. The seed was split, the roots are long and there was a little green shoot up top. I put it in water and let the roots dangle. The sprout is slightly longer and fatter but it's tip is dark. Is my little tree sick, or is this normal? Also, the pit has always been wrinkly. Like a walnut. It is the strangest thing.
