Thatcher amended the BNA 1981 to grant full UK citizenship after the Falkland war to all BOTC of 14 oversea Islands.
Lord Alton should lobby Priti Patel to register as full UK citizenship for HK BNO people.
This achievement would treat the BNO as equal to other UK citizens. This amendment to help the youth and young HK people should grant Refugee status instead of applying for refuge. Lord Alton mentioned that this group of HK people are applying for refugee status?
No this group needs refugee status and not application for asylum. All HK people should be treated fairly with BNO or no BNO. I hope that Lord Alton is not confused by the amendments. The amendment is to grant refugee status. The Ukraine people were granted full refugee status on entry to the UK. They are allowed access to NHS and benefits as long as they have Ukraine passport.
