Ah~ This fight turns all you've learned before on its head! Or rather, it introduces new possibilities for you! Mr. Ryan here flips last fight around, instead of your opponent being the matador, YOU are! You need to wait for an attack and then ATTACK back before he can land his! You could counter almost any opponent, but it can be extremely risky. Aran here makes it a necessity and does a good job introducing the concept! (Thanks for the tip, Doc!)

Go for the knockout punch! It's Punch-Out!!(!) This title is a true-to-form reimagining of the classic Punch-Out!! titles! And 60 frames per second will let you see the animation to the fullest! You've got the simple and rhythmic dodge/punch controls, your star punch, and a super-stereotypical array of contenders to bash! You can just feel the love that went into making this into a game to be cherished by the fans of the series! (It's good for newbies, too! This was my first!)
Your goal is to knock out your opponent, and to do so you need to look for openings! If you just throw punches at random they'll be blocked. In general, you'll dodge a single or series of punches and then when they're open for retribution you respond with your own! There are other methods of attack, and the game will introduce a few to you as a key method for attack, but in general it's "Dodge-punch-punch-punch"! You'll often get stars for a star punch (a more powerful attack) if you take advantage of these more secret techniques.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention! You have two ways of healing yourself! If you knock the other fella down, you can mash the punch buttons to regenerate health as long as they are on the floor. There's also the super-secret-chocolate bar! Press "-" between rounds to heal a LOT of health next round. Only can do once per match!
I played through this game once in the past using the Wii Remote/Nunchuk scheme throwing punches left and right, so this time I'll try the more classic method of the Wii Remote held sideways, buttons only.

MAN. Plays where the player actually struggles a bit are so much more fun to watch than some robot 100% no-hit trouncing the game.
It's so good cause it feels more realistic seeing both sides struggling

Another thing you can notice that’s an Irish attribute of Aran is that he never jabs. It’s because he’s using Irish boxing techniques, just with gloves. It also explains why he headbutts Mac, along with the fact he’s Irish-level erratic.
It probably also explains why he grabs you in Super Punch Out to steal health and strength.

It's no hate but, i think he has someone coaching him besides of doc, like a friend that played the game before, but not giving him any hints or easy ko's so he can enjoy the game as it should

Only really Aran. Every character cheats technically by the normal rules of boxing, but Aran is the only one who actually cheats in universe. It's kind of his gimmick

I actually really like Aran Ryan’s character.
A tricky guy who cheats despite being genuinely competent at boxing.
His use of illegal moves and excessive taunting when he knocks you down really makes you NOT LIKE the guy, and want to beat his head in even harder.
Then you see his smile after he loses, you can tell that he genuinely enjoys boxing. Nintendo really nailed the characters here.

No kidding Aran Ryan is a very cleverly designed character, he's basically a skill check. On previous circuits you probably could have beaten every fighter without ever having to use any Star Punches, but as you reach the World Circuit the game tells that from this point forward you're going to have to learn how to intercept attacks if you want to win matches. Ryan is almost a tutorial in that way, it's smart game design.
How can you not love Aran Ryan? Dude's a fkn riot.

• His hair tail is too long for it to be considered to be approvable.
• Moves performed not from a clenched fist isn't allow, making his open palm, headbutt & elbow smashes illegal
• His headbutt move come from him bouncing off the ropes which is illegal
• He loads his gloves with horseshoes, which is not only illegal but it's also breaking the law
• His contender mode win animation has him breaking a camera with a headbutt, now this isn't necessarily a infraction but he will have to replace it.
• In title defense mode, he brings and uses a boxing glove on a rope which counts as the use of a foreign object.
• This counts as a double infraction as the glove itself looks damaged, in boxing your attire and gloves must be in perfect condition for it to be used
• He threatened to the fight the audience, in boxing boxers are never allow in any circumstance to interact with the crowd even if the crowd was bugging him.
• During his in between title defense animation, the referee grabs him and Ryan shoves him to the ropes, in boxing your not allow to attack the referee cause it gonna lead you into a temporary suspension from the ring.
• Well it's unknown what Aran suffers from, he would be still not able to compete until his mental state has been improved.
• When Aran gets hits with a star punch he spins around to sell it, at that very moment he shows his back, this counts as throwing the match which is illegal in boxing.

Here's my vision for the World Circuit arena in this game
• We see a black arena with a couple of white lights.
• We get a stage with with two titantron videos, a circular tunnel area, a large tube of LED screens & a ramp with silver lightening & the stage will be elevated off the floor.
• The rafters will have LED screens that reads World Circuit in red lettering & below the first rafter will have a set of lights.
• Black barricade pads.
• Above the ring is a circular structure of lights.
• For the ring we have a black mat with the World Circuit logo, red ropes, silver ring-posts. For Mac's corner the turnbuckle cushion is blue with the WVBA logo in white lettering, for the opponent the turnbuckle cushion is red with the WVBA logo in white lettering & for the opposite turnbuckles the cushion will be white with red lettering.

I remember my title defense with soda pop the most. I reset probably like 150 times just trying to hit the perfect star hits. Eventually I was able to be the fight in like 30 seconds to a minute, can’t remember. Then I figured out that the exhibition match a challenge that met the criteria of what I had just spent forever trying to do. So, I had to do it again.
