  • How to Prepare for a Research Assistant Interview | Biomedical Science Research Assistant Job Applications 🥼🎙
    Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! Previously on this channel, I've made videos on how to write a CV and cover letter for a Biomedical Research Assistant (RA) position. To wrap up this little job application series, I thought it'd be fitting to do an interview preparation video.
    In this video, I talk about the purpose of an interview, types of RA interviews in academia vs industry, what to research about the employer, potential questions to expect, and how to answer them. I hope you find this helpful and best of luck in your job application process!
    Disclaimer: I am not part of any admissions team; all of what I'm saying is based on my personal opinions and experience.

    I’m gonna have an interview in a couple of days for a postgraduate associate position at one of the ivy league’s uni’s, which is amazing yet a bit intimidating. They asked me to prepare a 15 min presentation about my research experience and future plans. On their website it was stated that the position is for one year with a possibility of a renewal. I mentioned in my application that I intent to apply for a PhD this up coming fall. In US the application process takes a year, so it fits. So it’s okay if I will mention that during the interview, right? I want to take my masters thesis presentation and adapt it. Hope it will be okay. Sorry, just texting it here cuz I’m both nervous and excited and I finally saw someone in my field in a top university here on TH-cam haha! You are amazing!!!!!

    Is it possible to get any research related part time jobs while being an undergrad student

    • @biomedwithvy
      @biomedwithvy  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible to apply for UROPs or email individual professors to see if they are willing to host an undergrad. There are also easter/summer internships you can apply to in larger biopharmas/institutions, keep in mind that these deadlines tend to be quite early!

      thank you!! sometimes I'd ask about in vivo work (cause I don't feel very comfortable working with mice) and also how the pandemic has impacted their work (I started 2021) to see how they adapted their experiments/research

      @@biomedwithvy ahhh okay, I have an interview with Cambridge uni as a research assistant which would involve a lot of in-vivo work if I did get the job 😳
